Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport

Can’t beat an airport with a gorgeous outside little park where you can sit and relax till your flight. This is past security! AMAZING. Overall this is my favorite airport in the world. Just the right size with everything you need and a good variety of direct flights to various destinations. Absolutely love it!

Greenville–Spartanburg International Airport presents itself as a model of what modern air travel, in its better moments, aspires to be. One encounters, first, the parking—so disarmingly convenient that it almost startles the seasoned traveler. After decades of navigating the labyrinthine garages of major hubs, the ease with which one arrives, parks, and proceeds feels like a small but meaningful triumph of civic design. The shuttle drivers, too, merit commendation. They are engaging without being intrusive, helpful without condescension, and prompt with a punctuality that would impress even the most time‑obsessed traveler. Their manner conveys a quiet pride in their work, a sense that the airport’s reputation is, in part, theirs to uphold. Inside, the airport reveals itself as something of a jewel: sparkling, pristine, and arranged with a clarity that borders on the elegant. One moves through the space with an ease that belies the usual indignities of air travel. It is, quite simply, pleasant—a word rarely applied to airports without irony. Having traveled extensively for more than thirty‑five years, both domestically and abroad, I do not offer such praise lightly. Yes, GSP benefits from its modest size and walkability, but to attribute its excellence solely to scale would be a disservice. There is, unmistakably, an animating intention behind its operation—a commitment to order, cleanliness, and traveler comfort that elevates it beyond the merely functional. In an era when many airports seem resigned to mediocrity, Greenville–Spartanburg stands apart. It is an airport that has chosen, quite deliberately, to excel.

You know I like my hometown airport. It's big sort of but it does things efficiently. I'm grateful to come home to it. The parking garage also is drama free. Keep it up gang!

It is a small-but still decent size- airport with top level of cleanness, efficiency and accessibility. You don’t need to wait too long for your luggage or go through security line (mostly).

GSP airport is such a nicely remodeled airport! It was very clean inside and out. Mind you, the travel day, New Year's Eve, was not very busy...but everything went well from entry to departure. I love how well the airport has been remodeled. It seems like GSP wants to be the SC airport for the future...not just a regional based airport!

I came to the airport to fly back to San Diego. The drop off area was easy to navigate. The baggage check counters is spacious, clean, and well decorated. The staff is friendly and helpful. At security check I had to go through secondary because of some toothpaste and strawberry preserve. I had to go back downstairs for baggage check. After checking my bag, I made my way to the gate. The food court is just past security and has a good variety of foods and drinks. I went to my gate and was able to do some work at a high table. There was free internet too.

GSP is a easily one of the best airports. It's always clean. TSA is efficient. Clear is available here. The food options are great and the lounge is cool. It's a smaller airport but it's modern and flows extremely well. Easy to get in and out of the airport at any time of the day.

This airport was well worth it. The staff was friendly and helpful. TSA was quick and kind. The food options are pretty nice, with Chic-fil-a being an option. The best part was the outdoor garden area where you can have fresh air while waiting for your flight. There was even luscious grass to sit on if you wanted to work on grounding.

This is the typical medium-sized, small airport... The type that most single level/basic airports are changing into, except that this one has completed it's upgrade/renovation. The layout is great, very easy to navigate and there are nice places to grab a bite inside too, including a Wolfgang joint! This is the first small airport I've seen that actually has Clear also! Of course they have PreCheck too. I love smaller airports as they're very walkable and that's what I prefer. Last thing I want to deal with are buses or trains to take once I get to the airport! I really enjoyed this visit!

I stayed in South Carolina for 1 week for my brother's wedding. I've flown out of this airport twice on 1/25/20 (my first visit) and 2/2/20 (2nd visit). This is a medium sized airport. The following fly out from this airport: -Allegiant Airlines -American Airlines -Avelo Airlines -Breeze Airways -Delta Airlines -Southwest Airlines -United Airlines It's a nice and clean airport with nice art pieces. With several convenient stores, shops and restaurants. There is also an airport museum on site that I was not able to check out. Overall, a very nice airport that is easy to navigate.

Tyce was rude held us up at the check in gate for one of the people traveling with us due to her incompetence and not fully understanding the process of processing our visas kept explaining how she does her job and how someone else that processed our visas did there's. We eventually got done with the process and was on our way but don't be combative when someone is trying to explain something to you. It's okay to be wrong. The airport however, was marvelous ease of access, very clean, and nicely designed.

Super nice airport with many helpful people. They continue to upgrade and beautify the place.

What a fantastic little airport, truly. I've been in many and I have never seen an outdoor courtyard like this! It was so enjoyable to get some fresh air and stretch my legs while waiting for the plane (which was delayed in due to storms). I'm sure the utility of the courtyard is much more limited in summer when this area would be over 100F between the ambient temps, direct sun, humidity, concrete island effect and nearby plane exhaust. There's I think 2 sit down restaurants, no club/lounge and not all that much seating near the gates (definitely not enough for every person on a flight), so if there is a delay and it gets crowded inside TSA there aren't many places to escape. OnceI came inside from the courtyard to keep tabs on my flight, I ended up finding a window next to an outlet where I could work (the window well is about 18" deep and close to the floor). Southwest is of course just chaos but that's all on them, not at all GSP's fault. There has been significant construction in the exterior roadways and this past time the kiss and ride/dropoff/pickup area was relocated without much signage, so leave yourself lots of time and hope your driver knows their way around the airport and the construction.

I've been through this airport more than 15 time in 2023/24. It's very clean, security has never taken more than 3 minutes, they just installed the new, rounded scanners, and (even with the current construction in the pick-up drop-off area) it is very easy to get around. About 20% of the time luggage takes a while to come out, but I've never waited more than 23 min. Also, they have a nice Amex Lounge, nursing room, and massage chairs overlooking the runway. There's no Starbucks, but is a Duncan doughnuts, a Chick-fil-A, candy store, Wolfgang Puck restaurant and a bar and grill. Car rental drop-off is very easy and super close. Rental pickup can take a minute.

This is such a wonderful small airport. I love the outdoor courtyard so you can get fresh air while waiting for your flight, as well as the artwork throughout the airport. My only two criticisms are: the lack of bathrooms (there's always a line for the women's bathroom on the second floor), and the lack of restaurants, including two that basically have the same menu. Other than that, this is a pleasant small airport to fly in and out of.

I volunteer here so I'm slightly biased. But I've traveled from here many many times and it's truly a wonderful well run airport. Clean easy to navigate and with the friendliest employees you'll ever find!

Worst airport any airline youre unlucky to deal with these people. The town is tight and difficult unless youre not looking for service. This fast food working class town is literally overpaid and the worst type of people. Good luck. I was 45 early and they said thats not early enough and rejected my entrance. I HATE them!!! American, United!! Only fg fly delta

This is a great airport to fly in and out of because it's small, compact, and easy to get through. Plenty of comfortable seating and lots of clean bathrooms. Parking can be difficult so get a car and driver!

Great regional "International" airport. Not really many places you can go without a connection, but it's clean and fast. Limited dining choices, but honestly, I don't spend a lot of time here. I arrive just in time for flight and go. Warning that parking is kind of a mess. Don't bother with garage parking until they've straightened it out. I reserved garage space and had to park on the roof. That kind of defeats the purpose. ‍ It'll be remote lot for me next time. Other than that, I can't recommend GSP more than I do.

I love little things....mini size Tabasco bottles, dental floss you get for free at your annual dental check up and airports! Greenville Spartanburg airport is so little but so nice. Getting in and out was a breeze and we just walked outside and boom, our ride was there. Not sure if the pleasant experience was because we visited here in November vs peak season (does this area have that??) Regardless, I have family in the area and may just start visiting more due to the ease of getting in and out.

The slowest baggage handling in the galaxy! It takes longer to get your checked bag at baggage claim at GSP than a flight from Charlotte to Greenville. they are consistently the slowest in any city. Every time I fly into GSP I have to wait +30 minutes for my bag.

I pre purchased a 8 day parking spot in Lot B. The QR code didn't work. So I pulled a ticket to get on my flight. Came back and paid my fee again. That was when I tried to get my money back. I have been working with them for over 3 weeks and nothing yet. They promise to call back and don't. Very disappointing

The renovations definitely have improved the airport. They have better food options. Good wifi.

It is a small airport so don't expect the ticket counters to be manned at all times. They will only open up 2 hours before your flight so keep that mind. I flew Silver and they were having computer issues 2 hours before. I was first in line and the workers tried hiding behind the signs while working on the computers as if I couldn't see them. One of the workers from the tarmac was up there and he addressed the growing line. Sad part here is that they have absolutely ZERO contingency plans for an issue like that.

Going through GSP is usually a fast and pleasant experience. Checking bags and security is efficient. However, the Gate sitting area is filthy. My husband and I had trouble finding two clean seats together. Pleases tell cleaning crew to wipe down seats!!

This is quite a nice airport. Sort of "tucked away" from the main roads, as you approach you drive down a nice little windy wooded area before coming upon it. The airport is relatively compact compared to many others and this makes it quite easy to get around and find your gate once you've gone through the ticketing/boarding pass/TSA routine. Shopping and food choices are a bit limited but you will find some of the usual offerings, so you should be able to grab something to hold you over before your flight should you need. The terminal is clean and as comfortable as needed for an airport. No complaints there. I can't speak to the parking situation, as others have, since we've always just rented a vehicle while in the area. Rental is very conveniently located within the garage. Pick-up and drop off are pretty seamless so we have never had any issues. Greenville-Spartanburg International does a fine job in doing what good airports need to do: get you to where you're going. I like it.

It's wild to me how much this airport has changed since I was a kid. I might be dating myself but I remember pre-911 when we were able to walk my dad to the gate or park out front and go inside and greet him. They have moved the security gates so now you have access to the whole airport once you go thru security and have added some cool food offerings although it's limited enough that I recommend eating before your flight unless you're really into fast food. I love having the option of going out to sit in the garden while you wait. It's nice to see lil ole Greenville growing up!

Small airport. A few restaurants if you have time to kill. The funniest thing I noticed is the announcement for the time on the intercom sounds like the intercom on the GREASE movie at the highschool is the same and it made me laugh. Those of you who know what I'm talking about pay attention while at this airport lol. Easy to get in and out.

The GSP International Airport is the small airport that could. I like that there are hardly long lines to fly here. I love that it's an international airport, although limited to a few direct international destinations, but you can get to Germany (thanks to BMW). As of July 2022, GSP now has CLEAR!!!??!!!!! So it's possible to go faster through security. The airport and restrooms are always immaculate. It's best to fly in the mornings IMO. If you fly in the afternoons some, not all, of the security agents can be quite curt with people. Lol

$10 for 30 minutes in the ECONOMY lot!?!? Highway robbery. I called to complain about the rates and they suggested I send an email. For these prices I would expect GSP could hire someone full time to take the complaints.

Small but manageable and efficient airport serving the local area. Very small selection of restaurants and souvenirs, but it's good enough.

Clean, cute, and easy to navigate. SO SMALL, but accomplishes what it needs to do very well. I was especially impressed with the landscaping and grounds as you drive in, and the attention to detail on art and creativity in the surrounding spaces. I think the cleanliness helps stand this airport apart too, however, it's a lot easier to keep an airport with only 15ish gates clean versus the giant airports with multiple terminals and hundreds of gates. TSA has always been quick for me and the staff has always been nice, though again, that is likely easier in a smaller airport. They could afford to have another restaurant open as your only options are fast food or unhealthy snacks, but I don't think people are flying into GSP for major layovers between many flights. So I see why it isn't a priority. All in all, I prefer to fly out of GSP over Atlanta or Charlotte (which are both only 1-2 hours away) even when flight costs are lower in those bigger cities because the parking is easier, the airport is easier to navigate, and you don't get the same feelings of high-stress here as you do in other airports.

The place is super clean and modern. They did a really good job with this airport. The interior is beautiful.

I never knew Greenville had an airport. A regional one but still never a clue. I only realized it when researching places to fly into that's closest to Anderson, SC. I initially booked my incoming arrival to Greenville GSP airport thru United Airlines, however with a friend willing to drive me to Greenville from Charlotte CLT, I ended up changing my ticket via airline agent without penalty and got flight credit in the process. And so, I finally got to see GSP airport in the flesh when I departed the area to Kansas City on a brisk and quiet Monday late October 2022 morning. The airport is obviously small, boasting at most 12-15 gates, it's small enough to get thru TSA security pretty quickly but large enough to walk a few to get to your gate of departure. There are a couple of kiosks for food, drinks, and other things you may need for your travels. I flew Southwest out of GSP airport that October 2022 morning and it was fairly quick and painless, especially if you are TSA Pre-Check. Heheh. The airport terminal itself boasts restrooms for your convenience, as well as real time departure and arrival info. It's worth noting that Greenville is the midpoint of Atlanta ATL and Charlotte-Douglas CLT. Im thankful that there is a middle ground airport so there is no long road trip that I didn't have to take, unless it's with a friend. The overall experience at the Greenville SC regional airport was quite nice. Even the TSA experience was handled quite well and got into the secured gate area without too much drama. Probably under 10 minutes. It also helps if you had a super early departure in the morning like how I did. Early wake up call for the flight but at least you get the rest of the day to Enjoy wherever your final destination is. On this trip, it was to Kansas City via Atlanta. Not sure why they call this airport an international airport since it's small enough to not have that designation. It boasts less than 15 gates and you can physically walk the terminal within 35 minutes at a brisk pace. Probably and possibly for marketing purposes I suppose, since we have CLT in the north and ATL in the south of GSP airport. It does feel like a regional airport though. Best bet would be to come here for your flight after you've had breakfast outside the airport since the terminal doesn't really have anything substantial, unless you like coffee and quick breakfast sides to take with you on your flight out of GSP. The airport has restrooms and a pretty good WiFi system, as well as being clean and well managed by the local airport authority. GSP airport is one to fly into if you have business in the area. Otherwise, CLT, ATL, and others in the area can fit your needs as well. The Greenville-Spartanburg international airport is located in between the cities of Greenville and Spartanburg South Carolina. The airport itself doesn't charge admission fees, but many of the merchants here before and after TSA security accepts major credit cards for purchases. Obviously, if you were traveling, you'd have access to many areas of the airport terminal including the restaurants and the restrooms. Not sure about the parking situation, but certainly, with airports, they generally have a large or generous parking areas for anyone and everyone who wishes to grab parking to wait for loved ones arriving on a flight or for travelers who wish to park there for the duration of their traveling. For the most part though, the enjoyment of getting thru TSA security in under 10 minutes was practically amazing and could do this all over again, especially when it's a small regional airport. Not too keen on the early wake up call, but it is what it is. Take the good with the bad. Make sure there's airport shuttle service from your hotel, or you'd be taking Uber / Lyft. Or if you are, dropping off that rental car before heading to the airport terminal. If your travels come thru the Greenville-Spartanburg regional airport, have a great time here. The vibe is good and clean and I wish I was there with you. 5.0 stars for the overall experience. Support local! A+

This is a smaller airport but I really enjoy traveling through it. You can park right out in front if you're picking someone up and the TSA agents there are so damn friendly and helpful. Maybe it's the southern hospitality? It's bright and modern with lots of art on the walls. It's always super clean and I actually did some airport shopping, which I NEVER do. They also have some really nice dining options.

OMG! Long term parking is under construction! Try finding the entrance.... P1 showed FULL yet we could see cars leaving, it will not give you an entry ticket. Also under constructions as geniuses do this. The two different people we spoke too where unhelpful. At the other parking structure, also Marked FULL, one floor showed 18 parking spots. The other floor showed 24 spaces open. The "help" line recognized my distressed voice and made it clear he was to be of no help. We are only going to Austin for my best friend's funeral. Fortunately we arrived three hours early. The COMPETENCE of those in charge of parking is unimaginable. Don't fly GSP if you have any other choice.

Great airport, friendly staff, and a lovely drive in. The cel phone waiting lot is nice with a big light up board with flight updates. My only 2 complaints: parking garage narrow for longer SUV's, making it hard to back out of parking, especially if the person opposite you didn't pull forward all the way. Not enough food options before security.

I had a great experience arriving and departing from the airport. The airplanes are smaller. However, the airline staff will check in your bag for free and goes to the final destination, which is a plus! The people working inside the airport are helpful and polite. The TSA line was short and quick. The inside of the airport is clean and updated. Trees surround the outside area, and there is a fountain. The airport is impressive!

This tiny, two story airport is actually one of my favorite airports because of the ease of navigating it. While it it out of the way and located in the middle of no where; it is always very clean and free of tons of travelers. Most times, I feel as though I'm the only guest here because it's so quiet. The staff is always easy to find and the restaurants are never ever crowded- even what what he considered a weekend rush at most other airports. I literally go through the screening in a matter of seconds and baggage claim in mere minutes. Hoping you have safe travels and an (un)eventful trip while passing through here!

Small but pretty modern airport Check in and TSA was pretty easy . Even the TSA agent checking my passport but super cool and friendly which is a nice touch. That southern hospitality that I'm not used to at EWR lol

The worst TSA people I've experienced. To be clear, not rude, just incompetent. In the pre check line the scanner person is stopped every other bag for additional screening. Turns out my deodorant was what set them off and they had to check?!? Tore apart my bad and some other unlike female's bag before mine - had to repack everything. Been through 100s of these and never seen such a joke. They clearly need training. Generally I think TSA does a good job, even if not friendly. Airport itself is fine but sparse, not good spots to eat or much of anything.

Never thought I would review an airport but this airport is adorable. It makes me wish I lived here. I'm are people have bad experiences here because it's an airport and it's bound to happen but I'm reviewing based on the airport alone. It's clean and bright and updated. It has a ton of options for food for such a small airport (just two concourses with I think 8 gates total). There is the cutest outdoor area (which is also a designated smoking area) but I could see it coming in handy with kiddos during a delayed flight. They have a Chick-Fil-a, Dunkin Donuts, a Wolfgang Puck restaurant and several others. Again, for a small airport all of this is amazing. I live in a town with an equally small airport and there is only one option for food and it is not great. This airport is setting the bar high for smaller airports for me.

Super nice and clean airport. I was happy to see how fast everything was compared to crappy airports like LAX. Check in was fast, and so was TSA. I recommend as long as you don't have a complicated trip you can be there a hour before boarding with realities ease. Not very many places to eat due to Covid but enough to satisfy most. Staff was friendly and I got in and out on time. Thanks !!!

Very nice airport! It's small but it's really the perfect size. I cruised right through security. At 9am on a Thursday I was the only one in line. :) Very bright, spacious, and well maintained. There is a main level with several food options and stores. Grab a coffee at Dunkin before heading up to the gate level. It only has 13 gates that are separated into A and B so be sure you go up the correct stairs. If not, it will be just a few minutes to course correct haha. If you're someone that has a platinum AmEx card there is a complimentary lounge to enjoy.

Great little airport, they have been remodel added a great open air park next to the food area. Clean and spacious, the only thing is the TSA pre check line, every airport I've been to never had to remove anything but here had to take off the belt. But that being said very friendly staff...

Though this is considered an "International" airport, you pretty much, okay, definitely will have to fly to one of the larger hubs to go overseas. However, honestly, this airport continues to get nicer. Full renovation had more restaurants and shops and entire concourses are more open and clean. GSP has free WiFi and their parking rates are not as crazy high as the other airports. There are different cost structure depending on whether long term (thus further walk) and there's no shuttle but it's not far at all, and parking garage, and then daily and valet. There are massage chair options (I think) and those various kiosks to purchase electronic gadgets if you rushed to the airport and realized you left it at home. Bathrooms are quite nice, and there are counters/seats for charging your phone/laptop, etc. The one thing that should be noted is that TSA closes at (I believe) 8 pm, possibly earlier. If you have flight delays (and who doesn't have that, yes?) And decide to go home until awaiting flight finally does arrive for you to depart on, there is a risk it's closed and thus, you've missed your flight. This did not happen to me though I had considered returning home after multiple delays and cancellations but fortunately I spoke to a TSA agent and that check closes. It could have been that night. Delayed flights in tend to have a skeletal crew to unload. Recent flight did not touchdown until 2:20 am (was supposed to be before 11 pm). We were going to give a colleague a ride home but he had luggage checked in. That took quite some time so just be aware. Very nice airport and the people are nice, hey, we are in the South!

This is a really nice airport. It is small compared to airports in big cities, but it's great. There's an outdoor park in the check-in area. There's a chick fil A (remember it's closed on Sundays) and Dunkin' Donuts and a shop. Very clean. The bathrooms are exceptionally clean. For me the best part is all of the artwork! And the clean bathrooms!

The positives: -Small airport and easy to navigate. - Very clean - Modern design - Charging ports and outlets are plentiful. - Beautiful grounds The negatives: - Only a few eating options. A couple before TSA and a couple after. - Every airport employee I encountered had a bad attitude.

Not a flyer, but It's been a minute since I've been to the Greenville - Spartanburg International Airport. My nephew had a flight to Colorado at 8 am. My dad use to take me with him, to pick up his brother in law when I was a child. Some times we would go watch the planes take off and land. I told my nephew I remembered having to pay to use the bathroom. Most people had their masks on, it wasn't to busy at 6 am. It's changed a lot since back in the day, but we live in a different world today. Staff was friendly, airport was clean and so was the bathroom.

At 5am security lines were an hr long. They have a small security checkpoint attempting to file through a herd of people. The security is rude and the lines are confusing. My GF has TSA pre and even though it was printed on the boarding pass they said they couldn't find her in the system. They refused to take my state issued driver's license and eventually let me through. Then they announced there would be a 2hr delay of all flights due to a giant hole on the runway. I'd rather walk to my destination next time.

This is a sleepy aiport! The walk from the rental car area to the airport is very short. The baggage claim and small food court are on the lower level, gates on upper level. Pretty typical layout here. It is an easy in and out. Not much to say, it just serves its purpose. Is is a big difference from Charlotte Airport, where I had visited the day before.

First flying experience since Covid was very good! Can't say enough about this airport, the ease of check in and security, and friendliness of the employees. Especially if you are flying international, it's best to be prepared with your Covid test and requirements of the country you are flying to. Do this ahead and you'll have no issues!

I approached the airport on the local road, and it was tree-lined and brought me to a gorgeous fountain with two parking decks on either side. And then, there is an internal courtyard past security with flowers, fountains and bronze statues. This is the most beautiful small airport that I've ever been to. It's really a breath of fresh air in south carolina.

I adored this airport. TSA agents are incredibly polite. The local time is announced every half hour. There are massage chairs right at the gates. There is a freakin Chick-fil-A. And the highlight - an absolutely beautiful sculpture garden where you can work on your laptop or enjoy your meal. This was the most serene chicken sandwich I've ever eaten. Soothing, trickling water fountains, art, trees and other greenery, with the open sky above you. You can even watch the planes take off and since it's a smaller airport this isn't too loud or disruptive, more of a cool novelty. There's also a Wolfgang's, Dunkin donuts, and Baskin-Robbins. Finally, there are the gorgeous, clean, spacious, and modern restrooms with doors that have lots of room in between them and the toilet. It's a huge pet peeve of mine, especially if you have luggage with you or something bulky, having to maneuver around the toilet bowl very closely in order to close the door behind you. Bravo!

The staff here is friendly and available. The coffee is delicious and the food and presentation is good as well.

It's beautiful and small so mostly convenient. I have two big complaints. One is the way they call the groups for boarding so that you have a massive crush to board. Second is the one that most annoys me. The last 2 times I've travelled home to DFW from there they claimed there was no room for more overhead bags and both times there were completely empty overhead compartments and at least 20 bins with one or more empty spaces so that the bags in them slid back and forth during takeoff and landing and even during the flight. Not sure if this is a failure of the flight crew or the airport staff but it chaps me to have to wait at baggage claim, and deal with the rudeness of airport staff about checking bags, when there were PLENTY of open spaces.

This beautiful little airport is located in Greenville, SC and it's pretty much the state's official airport. When I landed at GSP for the first time 4 years ago, the airport was super tiny. You would walk out of the plane into the tube into the lounge and walk for less than 3 minutes to the baggage claim area. By the time I got there, the bags were already waiting for us! Now with the new expansion, it might not be as fast but it's still pretty fast in comparison to other much bigger airports. The expansion was nicely done. Everything looks beautiful and clean and the decoration is very tasteful. They also now have more restaurants including the kitchen by Wolfgang Puck and Chick-fil-A. The TSA officers at the airport are usually polite and this time with the new security requirements, they did us a huge favor by announcing the new changes to us while we waited in line, in an attempt to speed up the process, something we really appreciated! I hope that the airlines will offer direct flights into GSP. That would make flying into the state much easier in the future.
