17 Best Beaches Around New York City, From New Jersey to Connecticut | Condé Nast Traveler

"About an hour-and-a-half drive or a quick Metro-North trip from Grand Central, this 147.3-acre park offers manicured sandy areas, pavilions, grills, picnic tables, saltwater fishing, a dog area and more—nonresidents pay a $9 day fee to enjoy the grounds." - Melissa Kravitz Hoeffner, Kat Chen

Google
This is a beautifully maintained park/beach. We had a wonderful afternoon walking and enjoying the coastal trails. There was a $40 parking fee and $10/person admission fee which was easily purchased on their website ahead of our visit since we’re not residents. You definitely get what you pay for - the grounds and facilities were very clean and the park not crowded at all for a gorgeous day.

Google
Well maintained park with stunning, unique landscape. Unmatched views of NYC and never fails to show a good sunset. Can be tricky getting in sometimes as the roads and narrow and usually have a lot of traffic, but the park is worth it. Very dog-friendly. Nice long walks as well as a good sized beach. Plenty of parking throughout.

Google
A Petite, walkable park, you see 99% white people and 1% Asian people. Very safe Go in the winter because it's free. You probably can't even get in the summer, it may be local only.

Greenwich Point Park offers a picturesque retreat where nature and cityscape harmonize beautifully. As the sun sets, visitors are treated to breathtaking views of both the tranquil Long Island Sound and the iconic New York skyline, creating an unparalleled backdrop for relaxation. It's not just about the views though; the park's sprawling grounds provide ample opportunities for leisurely walks, invigorating runs, or simply lounging on the sandy shores. Whether you're seeking solitude or socializing, Greenwich Point Park is the ultimate destination for a rejuvenating hangout amidst nature's splendor.

Google
Spent my birthday here last year. Lovely spot. You can see the city! It was hazy that day so we could barely see the city but it was fun seeing the lights and bridges in the distance. Lots of boats going by. Sand is a little rough but there was a ton of parking, so those cancel out a bit. Expensive as heck but I'm not from round here so maybe that's normal.

Google
Amazing place for a walk, it is ammazing what wealthy areas have, becuase it is well taken care of. The dogs runninng around is cute and the atmosphere pf the whole park is relaxing, a great way to stretch out after a long week! Pay attention to park rules before you come, it isnt always open…

Google
A wonderful neighborhood park (guests can pay for parking and access) with beach access, a marina, lots of grills and picnic tables. Definitely a great place to spend the day, get some sun, and walk or bike among the paths there. I also love the access to the sailing school run out of this park.

Yelp
Greenwich Point Park will always be Tod's point to me. The happiest part of my childhood was spent living in Greenwich,Old Greenwich in Connecticut and Port Chester New York. These locations are on the state line of New York and Connecticut. My Dad would take me fishing at Greenwich Point. We had huge family picnics in the area with grills and benches. I remember hanging hammocks in the trees. As kids we ran and played building up our appetite. I've got many historic photos from over the years. Summertime at Greenwich Point is the best! I'm recommending you visit.

Yelp
Rocky sandy beach and residents pass is required. When I moved here years ago, the park was one of the selling points - it's totally beautiful and a great way to escape from daily stress. Why three stars ? I've been to many beaches and this one is just average. Compared to places like Fire Island & Robert Moses State Park there's no competition. Beautiful big rolling waves, infinite views, the wildlife, flowers and clean ocean breeze off the Atlantic Ocean versus the rocky rough sand and wimpy wavelets of the Long Island Sound. It's a nice place for picnics but the last time I was there they kicked people out right before sunset so I couldn't even enjoy the view.
google avatar

Renata R.

Yelp
Love Tod's Point over other local beaches. It's big enough where people form sections kids vs adults. I love sunbathing away from concession stands where you have less small kids more open area. It's never congested.
google avatar

Yelp
Residents only beach that is clean and nice! Got a single pass through a friend that has a family that lives there. It was a perfect day to lounge around and enjoy the sun. The town is also beautiful and would love to explore a few of the restaurants and bars next time.

Yelp
Great beach and walking area. No fees to enjoy the area during the winter. Beach is clean and I can see how enjoyable it could be during the summer (you'll need a pass for those months). People are generally friendly. View is nice and on a clear day you can see all the way to Manhattan. Ample parking, amenities (closed for the winter), and clean restrooms. There is also a little take a book/leave a book library box by the concessions. Nice if you forgot a book to read while lounging on the beach. One thing I found funny are the signs to keep dogs on leashes with an indication of how much the fine is. It may speak to the entitlement attitude in the area, but few dogs were on leash.

Yelp
Beautiful place for a walk and a lay in the sun when the weather is warm. Can't wait for Summer!
google avatar

Yelp
Great place to see the sunrise with someone special. A great place to see the sunrise by yourself. A place of calm for meditation and to realize the beauty that is New York.

N Scott M.

Yelp
Just an adorable stretch of beach with nice waves and beautiful green walking paths, nice dressing rooms, including heated outdoor showers and a friendly staffed food counter where you can have classic New England beach fare like fried shrimp or clam strips, hotdogs, and smoothies. It's no surprise to us now that they make it an extra hassle for nonlocals to get in. It's pricey and you have to buy passes per car and per person online during certain hours on weekdays - they won't sell them to you at the gate or at all on weekends.
google avatar

Miki K.

Yelp
Best place ever! No place like it anywhere - it's a nature's sanctuary, blissful surroundings to say the least! I do not want to complain, but I must admit during dog season, it's not the best place for people that are fearful of dogs. It's sad that some dog owners are so dismissive and let their dogs wander on long leashes and worse yet, OFF LEASHES! Shame on the lawbreakers! I will go to Tod's no matter what kind of dogs are there; but I am hopeful and thinking they will probably reinforce the rules in the not too distant future b/c of the non-law abiding dog owners - tsk, tsk, ruining it for your fellow dog lovers!

Yelp
Gorgeous park and beach. Very clean, lovely area and great parking. Many things to do for adults and kids but keep in mind that this is a resident ONLY recreation place. Will definitely visit again! Will take our bikes next time and do the hills :)

Yelp
Went to Greenwich Point Beach today and I loved it. It was very clean and tranquil and it was a picture perfect day!!!

Yelp
14 minutes ago-Edit Great example of transactional friction as a way of "keeping the suburbs homogenous" and only accessible to the "right people". Pull up to the entrance and the guy tells me "do you have a pass, this is for locals only" --- i I ask it says on the map its a public park owned by the state of CT. He says you need a pass and to get it "you need to turn around and go to mumble mumbled crayton avenue and pay $40 per car and $8 per passenger in the car". I say ok, can i pay here with my card. And he says no we don't sell tickets here, you have to back up and go to mumble mumble crayon avenue (pronounced cra-ay-on) avenue and get a pass. I wonder what the goal of the fee is. Is it to mantain the park, in which case the revenue maximizing thing to do would be to provide a simple way at the entrance (like any other major park in the developed world) or is to keep people out. I think it's to keep people out. Which is sad. Because all trails rated this a nice park to hike in with lovely views. The decadent Roman Empire was eventually felled not only by the "barbarians at the gate" but also by the excesses of the gentry and land owning classes and its reliance on slave labor and a caste system to exist. Those fancy hedge funders and private equity plutocrats who own those big houses in greenwich might do well to remember history. Because those who don't are doomed to repeat it. In the meantime, we will be back. With the kids. And with our tickets in hand. Bought with the gains from arbitraging your capital and using it to make a better fairer America. And once we take back this park for the taxpayers who paid for it, we will take back everything else you never deserved to have inherited.

Yelp
I'm not one of the beautiful people who lives in Greenwich. Nor can I afford the exorbitant daily parking fees. So I am relegated to come off season. And I swear I found a piece of heaven. This park is absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous views. Beautiful walking paths and trails. Plenty of parking (gosh, it's November!)And even though it's November, they have attendants at the gate and the bathrooms are open. Actual bathrooms. Not disgusting port a pots. After having been visiting the trashy parks in Stamford, this place was truly heaven. I'll be back every week until they start charging me!

Evelyn C.

Yelp
Wanted to go on a nice scenic walk with my boyfriend but to our disbelief we were told that we need a pass and would need to buy a daily pass ahead of time. Attendant handed us a paper slip with some info to obtain them and turned us away. Seems like visitors are not welcomed here.
google avatar

Karen 2.

Yelp
very disappointing that there's not even parking for an hour or even less than that to check it out. was told they only do parking for the day and it would be about $50.. 0 stars for their policies & would not recommend dealing w them.

Yelp
This is a tale of two parks. Your experience here will vary greatly, depending on whether you come during the summer months or the winter months. If you come between May 1st and October 31st, you need a permit or single day pass to enter. That includes any means of entrance, whether it be by car, foot, or bicycle. I ran into this the first time I tried to visit. You cannot buy a pass at the entrance, so you are turned away. This is more or less an "anti-locals" measure, if you aren't a resident of Greenwich, you have to pay a $35 parking fee plus $7 per person. This is for *one* visit. So yeah, for the summer months, as a non-resident who lives within a 10 minute drive or 20 minute bike ride, I would give this place 1 stars. However, during the off season, it really is a fantastic park. There is plenty of parking all along the point. There is a very pretty white sand beach on the eastern part of the park, a marina on the northwest, and the rest of it is mostly left in a more natural state. There are multiple walking paths around the park, and a ring road of sorts, so it is great for strolling, walking, and bicycling. It can be pretty busy when there is nice weather, even during the week. There are gorgeous views of the NYC skyline and Long Island sound. So if you are going in the off season, this is a great park to visit, and it's one of my favorites in the area. If you are thinking of going during the season .... unless you live in Greenwich or want to deal with the byzantine red tape.

George Y.

Yelp
One of the best parts of living in Greenwich, in minutes you're transported away into a beautifully maintained beach and walking park full of wildlife. We come here all year long and enjoy the views of nature.
google avatar

Gerrie S.

Yelp
It was a beautiful day to explore a park. I had read so much about it in Facebook so we decided to take a drive. There was no entrance fees yet, so that was a bonus. This park is situated literally in the middle of the sound, just beautiful. Easy trails to walk or push a stroller . We will be back.
google avatar

Alexey L.

Yelp
It's a great place but you can't buy pass and get in on a weekend, phone is not answering. Staff don't care about people and very mean.
google avatar

Al V.

Yelp
Definitely not worth $25 per car & $6 per person . Brooklyn beaches are free & a lot cleaner . Look at my pictures if proof is required. Surrounding nature is a lot better than the beach but I am reviewing the beach . The sand is somewhat cleaner & it's quiet as an area which may be worth to someone the admission price

Joe M.

Yelp
This place is absolutely gorgeous. The only thing that is terrible is the front guards. Not only are the scum of the Earth, they are absolute power trips that get hard when they turn people away. I pay all this money every year to have access to this beach. It's over 250 dollars just to have some child 30 years old not even acknowledge the fact that I pay his hourly wage. Today I showed up to walk the road with my girlfriend and didn't think to take my pass. No only would they not accept a picture I had of it on my phone, they wouldn't even look. But worst, they were incredibly rude about it. Have some decency for the people that pay for your services. I know next year, I will not be back. Avoid at all costs. Wish I could just rate the guards a negative review. Too bad Yelp doesn't allow it. Cheers

Yelp
If it's your first time here, parking can be tricky. You will need to go to the civic center first to buy a parking ticket (+ tickets per adult) before you can get into the park. They don't sell tickets at the park entrance (which would only be the most logical thing to do), so don't bother. You'll just be asked to turn around and go back to the civic center - which, is NOT as short or as direct of a drive from the park as they make it seem. Also, the website lists outdated prices. It currently costs $25 per car and $6 per adult to access the park. Once we took care of the whole parking snafu, everything was great! There was plenty of parking spots still available around 4PM, and we were able to find one close to the entrance of the beach area. Even on labor day weekend, there were plenty of spots on the beach to be staked out, and we found one that we liked quickly enough. The beach is pretty clean (ie. free of trash), but the water itself is littered with loose seaweed and murky due to the loose dirt. My friends decided to wade further into the sound, and they came out with dirt all over their bodies. Yuck! I wouldn't recommend swimming in that water. Otherwise, it was a great way to spend a sunny weekend afternoon. It's also close enough to NY for those of you planning a weekend getaway!
google avatar

Samantha F.

Yelp
Theeeee most ridiculous system I have ever seen...designed to keep people who are not residents of Greenwich out. It's $35 to park (yes you heard me correctly) and $7 entry fee. So a $50 day minimum to enjoy a park. No wonder so many people are leaving the northeast. Nature should be free. They have a gate attendant who says she cannot take any cash/cards so she will redirect you to the civic center to purchase beach passes and a parking pass. She's also a VERY nasty person! The beach/park itself is very beautiful Screw you Greenwich
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
Hard to find but it's for locals only so if you don't know where it is you probably can't gain access anyways. Not Miami or Cali but it's clean and quiet. Kids outnumber grow ups three to one I swear. Clean facilities and great parking (with your pass of course). It's a great place to enjoy summer spring and fall in Greenwich when you're not summering in Monaco.
google avatar

Megyn B.

Yelp
Don't bother! Not allowed in unless you have a beach pass that guard can scan. Thought this would be a nice spot to stop to wait out for traffic to die down, but to "ritzy" of an area to let people visit.
google avatar

Katie S.

Yelp
Tod's Point is one of the most gorgeous waterfronts in the area. Miles of walking paths/cycling roads and a vast beach area give way to beautiful vistas across the Sound, and unique peeks at the huge houses that line the shore. You'll be hard-pressed to enter without a Greenwich Beach Pass from April and through November, so start thinking about friends who can bring you along. From December thru March, Tod's Point turns into a dog haven; dogs run off leash all along the beach, and dog owners congregate for spontaneous afternoons on the sand. A must-visit for any canine within driving distance!

Camp Cat C.

Yelp
Wonderful walk around Greenwich Point Park on New Year's Day. Foggy, wet, mild breeze and plenty of seagulls.
google avatar

Yelp
What Trump might say if he accepted the nomination of Head of Greenwich Point Park, or the Vibe at This Beach "Greenwich Point Park Beach has become a dumping ground for everyone else's problems. (APPLAUSE from Greenwich CT residents) Thank you. It's true, and here are the best and the finest. When other places sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're not sending you. They're not sending you. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're driving Hondas. They're wearing Target. They may even WORK for a living! And some, I assume, are good people. But I speak to the minimum wage Town of Greenwich gate ticket collectors and they tell us what we're getting.... They're sending us not the right people. It's coming from more than Stamford, Darien, or New Haven. It's coming from all over the state, and it's coming probably from... NEW YORK! But we don't know. Because we have no protection and we have no competence, we don't know what's happening. And it's got to stop and it's got to stop fast. (APPLAUSE). We need somebody that can take the brand of the Town of Greenwich and make it great again. It's not great again.... We have all the $35 single entry parking passes, $7 single entry per person park passes, and shellfish fishing passes but we don't even know we have the passes because our leaders don't understand the game. We can turn off that spigot by charging them and having awful overpriced "food" at the What's Cooking concession stand and not allow re-entries until they behave properly. We are going to build a great border wall, make people buy our overpriced passes at Town Hall only during the week to stop this, this basically illegal immigration to stop the gangs that want to use OUR kiddie-pool like manufactured fake beach with accompanying trophy wives. We will make Greenwich Point Park Great Again. Thank you." ----------------------------- (Whisper from the audience: This is an amazing beach for kids tho. Beautiful sheltered areas and water depth like a wading kiddie pool for many meters. Clean and safe. Views of the NYC skyline in the distance. Review the rules and regulations on the town website because the snobs and townies REALLY don't want outsiders here. They lost in court years ago and only begrudgingly allow access. I'd normally give 2 stars b/c the beach and amenities don't compare to a natural beach, except I'm giving 5 stars for the kid-friendly/family factor and plus the snobs that work here really need more diversity education. So come one come all! Especially if you drive a car with New York plates and have rambunctious kids. Fight the power!)

Mary H.

Yelp
Front gate staff is rude as well as not wearing a mask. Too bad this spot has been denied to anyone who is not a Greenwich resident. Have to purchase tickets in a different location. It is insulting..
google avatar

Katie W.

Yelp
Five stars, This park is beautiful, very good for a walk or jogging. It's like 45min driving distance from NYC. We came here on a weekday in March, so there isn't much people and the beach is clean.
google avatar

Jason M.

Yelp
How lucky was I to be a resident of Greenwich for a few years? A nominal yearly fee, and my car and I received unlimited access to the park all season. If you're not from Greenwich: a $20 parking fee, plus $5 per person. No fees from October through March, but those aren't exactly the prime months... Prohibitively expensive. On purpose. It's Greenwich... -1 star for that alone. But like everything else in Greenwich, this park is perhaps the best of its kind in the state. Surrounded by water on three sides, views of the Sound, Long Island, the New York Skyline... it's really a breathtaking vantage point, especially on a clear sunny day. There's plenty more: A manufactured beach with concession stands, a perfectly paved circular asphalt path (I used to rollerblade here ALL the time), picnic tables, woods to walk around. The property used to be privately owned. It was some rich dude's playground, and hosted a 9 hole golf course... I'm a golfer, and yet I say, "What a waste that must have been." If you can afford to visit Greenwich, you can afford the park, I suppose.
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
Beautiful, small and overpriced. Classic east coast beach, with classic Greenwich (From the "we have free pass type") visitors. I am big lover of nature, in all its forms. Whether it is a forest, the beach or the Botanic Gardens, but to pay 25$ to park the car, and then another few dollars just to walk on the beach is ridiculous, not to say a rip-off. They offer no extra beside the place itself. Think it over, and maybe drive for 30 minutes for better places.
google avatar

Marilyn M.

Yelp
Discovered this gem of a park while dog-sitting my lovable "nephew" this past January in Greenwich. Admission is free in the winter and they allow dogs until March. It was heaven. We got lost in the holly forest, walked the 3 mile coastal path, met other dogs and admiring joggers along the way, played on the beach and ran free in the numerous picnic areas. Certain areas are dotted with picnic tables and free standing BBQ pits for public use. Even though the point is surrounded on all sides by water and filled with visitors, you can take a turn in the path and suddenly find yourself isolated in quiet solitude. The winter months are fantastic to just stroll and share the beauty with other cold weather diehards. Tod's Point is amazing. A definite perk if you're thinking of living in the Greenwich area. But for now it's now our little secret - right buddy?
google avatar

Cristina S.

Yelp
Luckily, I am a resident here and get to use the beach at will. Just had to pay for my parking and beach pass at the beginning of the season. This place is awesome. Great beach, decent food and great hiking and walking trails. Definitely shouldn't be missed on a trip to Greenwich.
google avatar

Cody H D.

Yelp
Beautiful place, the only downside is the fact that it's so small that everybody and their yuppie brother comes here when it is nice outside. It's a "locals only" park so if you do not live in Greenwich you have to get a parking pass, as well as individual beach passes for people in your party. One of the few nice natural places in the immediate area to watch the sunset. I like the walks on the beach, the tiny but quiet natural areas, and the beautiful sunsets over Manhattan. As is seemingly typical in this area, it's hard to get out of earshot of the neurotic folks in this park but it's better than nothing. Overall a lovely spot.

Sarah F.

Yelp
Came in october, they still require a pass, yet they dont sale them on weekends. So that was that. Seemed beautiful, but unfortunately we didnt get to go in. Sad.
google avatar

Savannah D.

Yelp
Well it looks like a beautiful place, if you can actually get in. Greenwich is gorgeous, however they seem keen on keeping everyone out that isn't a resident. We pulled up to the entrance to Greenwich Point, the woman working the booth immediately said, very bluntly and with the worst attitude I've ever seen: "you can't buy a pass to get in here, go to city hall." We were very confused and said "Seriously?" She replies "yup, pull around and leave".. No mention of where city hall was, how to get it, or anything helpful. Obviously we can easily look up how to find city hall, but she was so beyond rude it was almost funny. We left and didn't bother to try and come back, I have zero interest in supporting a community that treats its visitors so poorly.
google avatar

Cindy Y.

Yelp
We enjoyed this dog friendly park! For 3 months out of the year (starting dec 1st), dogs are allowed to roam freely off leash on this beautiful beach. We loved the 1 hour trail that loops around the coast back to the beach. Perfect winter beach for dogs and pet owners!
google avatar

Sonia H.

Yelp
This is our favorite beach in between Connecticut and New York. We spent a lot of our hot summer days on the beach swimming and sunbathing. The sunset is gorgeous here as well as the view! However, for out of towers, the parking fee ($39 per visit) plus beach fee ($7 per person) is a bit steep!
google avatar

GP H.

Yelp
$35 to park plus $7 per person even at 5pm for nonresident...ridiculous. Typical Connecticut garbage

Frank D.

Yelp
To us Greenwich residents, it's a wonderful place where we can enjoy nature so close to the metropolitan area however, contrary to what some have posted here, it's not a dogs run free beach. The signs are clear. Dogs must be leashed everywhere in the park and picked up after, including on the beach. Too many visitors violate the ordinances and it makes for testy confrontations including between dog walkers. The park is open to dog walkers between Dec.1 and March 31. Welcome and enjoy what we have to offer.
google avatar

Emme K.

Yelp
Love this beach! Big enough and diverse enough for all kinds of activities. It's a spot for local residents. There are bbq pits and tables, huts on the sand a concession stand and facilities. The kids love it!

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
I'm obsessed with Tod's Point. It's probably my favorite spot in all of Greenwich. It's a fabulous mix of beach, forest, and lakes. There's a beach looking towards Stamford that's always cleaned. There are also benches around to sit and look at the views. A paved walking trail goes around the entire island, and it's always got joggers or families taking in the views. There's a bonfire pit and a picnic shelter with plenty of space for picnics, walking trails everywhere, and a sailing club. On the west side of the park, on clear days, you can see the skyline of Manhattan. The fall is especially beautiful, as you've got the colored leaves on the trees and the grass compared to the lake and the sound. It's one of the places that never fails to make me happy I live here. If you're not a resident of Greenwich, though, it's on the expensive side - I think it's 20 - 25 for parking and 5 to 6 per person. You'll also need to get your passes at the civic center before you come out. Also note that the roads to get out there are narrow and really not designed for heavy traffic.

John J.

Yelp
Jogging on a rainy Saturday. Mile 5 of a ten mile run. Gate person rudely asks if I had a pass. Seriously? I have never, ever been prevented from jogging or biking anywhere in the world in a public park or at any beach until today. All over the US, all over Europe. This apparent policy by the losers who run Greenwich (that phrase comes from several residents, not me) is apparently elitist. Apparently they feel the need to protecting your town from undesirables. Locals apparently fear that their park will be over-run. I get protecting limiting parking for locals. I get protecting side streets from outsiders parking. I have no issues with all of that. But I was running, not in a car!! This is just plain stupid. Because I will never visit your restaurants. I will never visit your stores. I will never recommend your over-priced, arrogant, condescending town to anyone ever. As for the rude guy at the gate with the power complex? You are nobody - get a life.

J T.

Yelp
No stars- Rude and exclusionary even after $65. After arriving with two kids to this beach that was recommended by a friend, I found out about the pass requirements from a very nasty, sarcastic attendant. She could have said- "Sorry, it's Saturday. You need to purchase a pass and it's only available for purchase on the weekdays 9-4." Instead she gave me a blank stare and acted like I was an idiot for not knowing. "It's on the website." We pulled away. On Monday we decide to go back- we went to the Civic Center to a cool reception. " 2 adults, 2 kids and parking please" " How old are the kids?" "6 and 7" " You know you have to pay for them!?!" "Yep that's why we said 2 kids" We buy $65 worth of tickets for a car, 2 adults and 2 kids, no receipt for cash and barely a nod. As we enter the beach parking, the attendant says "You know there's a storm coming?" We had been looking forward to the beach for days, so I asked - "What exactly does that mean in terms of the beach?" Concerning the rules of the beach regarding storms. A good worker would say - "We close the beach when it storms, so your better off saving your tickets for another day." Instead her jaw dropped, she gave me a blank stare and said nothing. I asked her if I had done something to offend her, and that I just wanted to know what it meant, that a storm was coming. She repeated slowly- "It. Means. A. Storm. Is. Coming. What does it mean where you're from." Wow! It was summer, we thought it would come and go and we would head on to the beach once it passed. She took our tickets and when I asked for a receipt she said that it didn't matter. As we pulled into a spot everyone was exiting and the life guard said "beach is closed!" 4 minutes after we entered I went back to the kiosk to ask for a receipt or other proof that we just got in to which she said "I don't remember you" "What? I was just here 4 minutes ago." "Nope, I don't remember you" "Could I please just have the stamped tickets or a note saying what happened? We didn't even step on to the sand." "Don't know when you came." "You know we just came in and I did ask for a receipt." She said "We have hundreds of people come in here a day, I don't remember you." Then added "I did tell you there was a storm coming!" "I thought you didn't remember me?" she finally wrote on a post it with no date "2 kids 2 adults 1 car" very helpful- thank you. If you don't want visitors coming to your beach just make it a private beach and call it a day! They were so rude for no reason. We went back to the civic center and the worker couldn't do anything because I had no receipt- she said I should've gotten the stamped tickets back from the attendant- which I tried to do. She said to go to Town Hall. So we went to Town Hall to try to solve it- they said send an email, but basically good luck trying to get the money back, I should've gotten a receipt from the attendant. No kidding! Terrible experience. Rude and exclusionary even after you pay $65.

Yelp
Such a beautiful asset that Greenwich has! We are so lucky to have it. It's beautiful year round and offers so many activities. So grateful to all of the volunteers that help to keep the park as amazing as it is! Especially the Friends of Greenwich Point. Huge shout out to them!
