This place bakes legit and appropriately chewy, flavorful, and delicious NY style bagels and has excellent nova 💥 💥 💥. I will now endeavor to eat only here when anywhere within an hour of O'Hare.

Has some guest from out of town and we picked up a few sandwiches for late breakfast early lunch. We were all super satisfied. We shred three sandwiches and my favorite was the corned beef. The Liz were super fresh. Three different bagels types all delicious. For sure a must try.

Thank you so much to the owner. Sadly I did not ask her name. I had made a order for Saturday and called the wrong bagel place. She helped me fix my issue. Her kindness and understanding is so appreciated. My family has been enjoying bagels for every holiday and get together since the late 60's from this shop. Popularity can be a little bit of a hindrance to an amazing, yet small deli. I got the pastrami on a Bialy with a little bit of mustard and it was absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend. The rest of my family got various sandwiches and enjoyed them almost as much as I enjoyed mine. The real issue with this place is there’s nowhere to sit. It’s very small. You’re just supposed to get your sandwich and go, but the process of taking orders and making sandwiches isn’t streamlined so it takes a little bit of time. The food is definitely worth the wait, but the line can get very long and I know a lot of people can get very angry about things like that so be aware if there’s a line out the door, you are going to be waiting a while. The price for the food was a little high, but not too bad.

Best bagels in the suburbs of Chicago! All the bagels are made fresh daily, and you can tell the difference. My favorite bagels are everything: garlic, jalapeño and onion! They also have a variety of cream cheese flavors, and my favorite is the jalapeño and onion and chive! The staff is super friendly, and this place is pretty clean! I recommend coming early in the morning because they run out of bagels quickly! Usually, there’s a line in the morning, but it moves fast!

What a lovely and unassuming bagel shop Greenwood Deli is. When I walked in, a batch of fresh raspberry bagels just came out of the oven and I could hear the crisp sound of bagels touching each other. If you like to eat hot bagels, this is the place to be in the morning hours. Friendly workers were a plus. Will try their bagel sandwiches next time!

Absolutely the BEST Jewish style bagels you will find. I've been going here for years. Place is kinda dumpy, but the workers are always friendly. The best bagels anywhere. Highly recommend.

Greenwood Deli has been around for 60 years and I now know why! A coworker had recommended this NY Style bagel shop and I finally got around to coming to try. Located in a strip mall, there is plenty of parking. Inside, they have a bagel/bialy counter as well as a deli counter for meats and sandwiches. There is no seating inside so be prepared to take out. We asked the staff member what their most popular bagels and cream cheeses. He was also kindly let us sample the chive and veggie cream cheese before deciding. I got a sesame bagel with chive cream cheese and my partner got the everything bagel with veggie cream cheese. You can tell everything is made fresh daily. The our choices were AMAZING! I will definitely be back to try other flavors as well as some of their bagel sandwiches! Be sure to give them a try when in the area!

UGH!!!! Love me all the carbs and Greenwood Deli definitely has em. This NY style bagel and deli is a small family owned business where everyone is friendly and helpful. I was here on a Saturday around 10am and this place was PACKED. Line out the door packed. Although it was very busy the staff members were able to keep up with it and I was in and out within 10 mins. There is not any seating here. This is a spot where you grab your items and go. There are many returning customers here, staff members remembered names and orders. I was impressed and happy to see it! The gentleman that helped me was very kind. I had an egg bagel toasted with veggie cream cheese and OMGGGGGGGGGGGG. THIS PLACE SLAPSSSSSSS! The bagel was of perfect texture and portion. It was everything a bagel needs to be. The cream cheese was rich, flavorful and I was given a very generous portion. I was so excited to eat that I devoured this during my car drive. There was no way I was waiting!

I'm a bagel girl and am picky about them. I have been here multiple times in the morning and they are consistently fresh and good. The workers are friendly and quick, they waste no time. The only downside is sometimes they sell out of certain flavors if you aren't there early enough. The sandwhiches can get pricey BUT they are jam packed with meat, it will justify the spend. I am always happy and now I made good choices when I come here. IMHO, pastrami is the best sandwhich.

Simply. Wow. This is a no frills bagel spot that doesn't disappoint. I grew up in this area, and I had never gone until I moved away. When I finally got a chance to visit, I got the lox bagel sandwich. I loved the added cucumbers in it and thought the ratios were well done. Their staff knows how to make a bagel sandwich!

I haven't been there in awhile and wanted to introduce this store to another person. It was a Saturday at 930am. We both purchased bagels and couldn't wait to get home and dig in. All the bagels were hard as rocks. Barely able to cut them in half. Don't know if they are new owners, but if they are they are failing! So disappointed.

I work at the hospital across the street and was told I needed to try this place. From the outside it looks very unassuming, just a small place within the strip mall. Inside it is pretty straightforward. No dining in, just two counters to order from. This place boasts NY style bagels and bialys, along with cold cut deli sandwiches. I got the pastrami sandwich and a jalapeño cheddar bagel. The sandwich was PACKED with pastrami! And it was tender and flavorful. The bagel definitely was NY style. Can't compare it to an actual bagel from NYC, but it comes very close. This is a wonderful, straightforward deli right outside of Chicago in Park Ridge. A definite must try gem if you are looking for a good bagels and deli!!!

** Kind Staff ** This is a toughy. I'm not a fan of bashing, nor am I a particularly picky person but... C'mon guys, what's going on here. I wanted to like this place... Walking in I was instantly in love with the look and feel of the place. It felt as though the Deli has been here for decades, may have. Everything was just as expected aesthetically, old clock, vintage this, vintage that. I wanted to love this place, near home bagel shop... yes please! Unfortunately looks can be deceiving. Onion bagel that was pretty much a regular bagel. Chive cream cheese that was pretty much regular cream cheese. The driest Reuben I think I have ever had and C'mon guys, store bought coleslaw, that's when I felt enough is enough. For the price, no thanks. I may try again just to be fair...

For the proximity of a bagel shop this is the place to go! It's def not a New York bagel, but it's still really really good! I got an everything bagel with chive cream cheese and it was nice and toasty and the cream cheese was really good, not too strong. My brother had the egg and cheese and rated it an 8/10, said it was good (had cheddar cheese.) The egg is not fresh as it is microwaved but he said it still tasted good. The men working were really nice and patient and quick too!

I have been looking for a good bagel place and this delivered. They have a large selection of bagels, a few cream cheeses and deli items. I got a lox bagel sandwich and my husband got a tuna melt baked. Both delicious! There is no indoor seating but we drove to a nearby park.

Great food... helpful fast staff. Hands down the best Jewish deli in the area. Everything is fresh sliced and piled atop fresh baked breads or bagels. All the great standards like chopped liver and white fish salad are available. It's no frills and carry out only... Perfection

I just started working at Lutheran across the street, and two of my colleagues planned on heading over here for lunch today. I didn't bring my lunch, so I tagged along even though I wasn't sure I was wanting a bagel sandwich. I would have never discovered this place on my own. It's in a strip mall and not terribly obvious. I'm so glad I decided to go with their suggestion! We ordered ahead of time, and our order was ready to go as expected. I ordered a lox and cream cheese sandwich on a toasted everything bagel, and it was amazing!! It was everything that was missing from my life. I will definitely be back!

Overall, this was a very satisfying snack. My only complaint is how pricey it is. Two sandwich lox bagels including tax was 25.00. It is not a very big sandwich either. Quality of the lox was great. You have the option to toast your bagel and I highly recommend! What made it extra delicious was the crunch and the flavor of the toasted seeds on the "everything" bagel. YUM! You get a pickle on the side and get to choose between: potato salad, coleslaw or lays chips (reg or bbq) as another side. Close early on weekdays (3pm) they take card and not just cash. Decent service.

literally could not say enough good things about this place. first of all, the staff is always extremely kind and efficient. you can tell they care about everything they do and it shows with their food!! they have the best priced (plus best tasting) bagels in the area!! their cream cheeses are ALL phenomenal and their desserts too, you'd be surprised at all the cool stuff you can get at this place and for not much money at all. hidden gem seriously but it shouldn't be! nyc bagel is now the only bagel place i go to. i used to be a frequent einstein customer and never looked back once since finding nyc. why go to chains that are more expensive anyways and not as delicious? next time you're craving a bagel, check this place out, you won't be disappointed!!

Bagels were pretty good. Crispy on outside and chewy inside. Maybe a little too chewy but overall good. Loved there cream cheese spreads. So much variety to choose from. We had both the plain and cinnamon raisin spreads. Next time we will try their pastrami sandwiches.

Great place..Very good bagels. Very good bakery items. Very good corned beef..The staff is verry efficient and courteous.. The only thing it is missing is seating..You can not eat there. If they had seating. I feel business would triple. Best bagels around !!

Best kept secret across from Lutheran General Hospital! A little whole-I'm-the wall place with old-school deli vibe. You can't beat the delicious bagels-- a toasted bagel and cream cheese is $3.65. A can of pop is $1.25. Perfect light lunch. Eat in your car or a park as this is take-out only. Another day, my sister and I split a lean corned beef on rye. So much stacked thin-sliced corned beef on delicious rye. I wish I lived nearer. Great prices, delicious food, friendly people.

Have you ever wondered what an authentic lox sandwich tastes like? Not only is it picture worthy but so worthy of the flavor on my taste buds! I always grab a few bagels, homemade lox spread, a pastrami sandwich with mustard on rye and a mini lox sandwich. The pastrami is reheated/smoked before getting cut and placed into your sandwich and it just makes it all the more delicious, the flavor really stands out. It's fresh and you can absolutely tell in the flavor of the food. Everyone behind the counter is quick but friendly and accommodating. It's very much worth a visit.

Phenomenal bagels! I started going here in the early '90's. Best bagels in the suburbs. After many years away from the immediate area, recently tried them again and they are as good as they were way back when. Cream cheese is a fantastic topper. These are true NY style bagels. If you've only ever had bagels from chain establishments, these are completely different in flavor and texture. I recommend stopping by and picking up a dozen first thing in the morning, when they are still warm. Nothing like them ... and if you like an everything flavored bagel - you'll realize this takes the bagel flavor to a whole other level.

The best bagels I've ever had! The service is good. It's definitely small as it's a deli and the lines can be long but the food makes up for that and then some! 10/10 would highly recommend!

Really tasty bagels! Slightly crunchy on the outside and soft chewy and yeasty on the inside. I love their jalapeño cheddar and everything bagel. The garlic bagel is just so so. Make sure to eat them fresh same day! I left half of one in the paper bag overnight and it was really hard. The lox sandwich is legit! Lots of salmon, chive cream cheese and capers/onions. They toast the bagel and cut it in half for you I will definitely return!

I'm from New York and this is NOT a NYC Bagel. How do you call yourselves NY Bagel and you don't even have bacon egg and cheeses or BLTs? This place is perfect for people who don't know better and the marketing makes them think it's a NY bagel.

This is a gem, middle of a strip mall across from Lutheran General. Boiled bagels, finished in the oven and cooked perfectly with a crust outside and chewy inside. Lox was on point also, pretty standard fare. Had the lox sandwich on an onion bagel and it was delish. Be sure to get the bagel toasted.

Very tasty pastrami and Swiss on rye paired with potato salad and a fresh crisp pickle! Service with a smile!!

I would drive an hour to this place without a doubt. Everything was 10/10 including service. We had lox bagels with chive cream cheese and a pastrami on everything with Swiss and mustard. Whewwww so good!!

I can't believe this place doesn't have a million more reviews... The bagels and bialeys here are top tier; Blows out any competition in the area out of the water. My go to is the sesame bagel, toasted, with chive cream cheese. Try it and prove me wrong!! For being as busy as it gets the quality and staff never fail to impress - I love this place

Love the bagels and the service here. My go to is their breakfast sandwich bagel. Bagels here taste fresh and flavorful, if I couldn't make a run to CBA this is my closest favorite spot. I always get a 7 layer bar with my order. Highly recommend!

I don't even know how I came across this spot, but I'm so glad I did. I drove by on my way to Milwaukee with a couple friends straight out of the airport, and we were dying for some good breakfast. And wow, as someone who craves a New York bagel on the daily, Greenwood Deli's bagel really came close to hitting the spot. I got a bagel breakfast sandwich with cream cheese and it really satisfied. They had a huge variety of bagels, sandwiches, cream cheeses, as well as some other baked goods and soups. If I was from the area, I would be coming here non-stop. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for some fresh bagels!

My new favorite spot, but we didn't have a great experience with the employees. To elaborate, we wanted to get a chocolate frosted donut and saw an employee bring out a FRESH dozen of them. Because it was right in front of us, we asked the cashier if we could take the fresh one. He was a little bit rude, and definitely blunt, when he stated they were all the same and proceeded to take a donut from the older batch. It left us with a "wth was that" attitude. However, the bagels and donuts here are great. We ordered the garlic, cheddar and jalapeño, and banana walnut bagels and got a chocolate frosted donut on the side. All of them were really incredible, and each had a good dense texture without it being too tough or chewy. My personal favorites were the garlic and the cheddar and jalapeño bagels. The flavor notes left a lasting impression on me. I love it here, and I will come back to try that bagel sandwich I keep hearing about.

My wife wanted some bagels and found this place, which we've passed by plenty of times but never really noticed because it's often overshadowed by the Portillo's next door. We'll probably come here more often though because the food was really good! I got a roast beef sandwich with cheddar on wheat bread and my wife got a tuna salad sandwich with cheddar on an everything bagel. We also ordered a banana bagel and a blueberry bagel which had a subtle flavor but still tasted nice and fresh with an excellent ratio of crunchiness to chewiness. I went when it was close to closing though so they were out of other bagels were wanted to try, including the cheddar jalapeño bagel, so we'll make it a point to go earlier next time. My wife liked her sandwich and my roast beef was hefty and generous, though it was saltier than other roast beef sandwiches that I've had. I still enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to trying their other sandwiches and pastries!

Hubby picked up some bagels for us to try (banana and blueberry). I also wanted to try the cheddar jalepeno bagel but they were completely out by lunch time. Both bagels were good and fresh. The banana bagel had a subtle flavor so I couldn't taste the banana after I put cream cheese on it. For lunch I had a tuna melt on an everything bagel. I would get it again but probably on bread instead since the tuna kept falling out of the bagel. Hubby got a roast beef sandwich and found it enjoyable. We will be back to try more!

Came here to grab a sandwich before heading to Wisconsin to meet up with my sister. The picture shows on Yelp look appetizing but when we got I got a impression as a deli meat place. There are menu posted for sandwiches, meats and bagels. I end up getting a breakfast sandwich added turkey patties on a everything bagel and my boyfriend got the Ruben sandwich on a blueberry bagel. This place is in a plaza with other stores. I would come back to try other sandwiches.

These are the very best bagels and baileys. The egg bagels are perfect, beyond belief. You haven't lived until you've experienced the taste and texture of the egg bagels if you are lucky enough to get them when they are still warm. Don't forget to add the smoothest crème cheese with chives. The lox and corned beef are very good. This is the real place place to go. We drive almost 30 miles, one way to get and enjoy these treats. You can't go wrong.
