Some of the staff are amazing but some need to learn the word Hospitality or get a career change.. asked to order food at bar - told to come back at 5pm, it was 4.58pm. 40 minutes later when we found a staff member to order, we couldn't order a drink had to go to the bar.. Don't know what's going on internally with staff but they need to sort themselves out! It costs enough. Also don't forget to ask what chef is working!!

Great price, lovely comfy room, clean and warm. Excellent location for shopping, sightseeing and visiting family. The staff are amazing, really friendly on reception and the lady in the restaurant who served breakfast was fantastic. The breakfast is very good and varied. I cannot recommend enough

Found the welcoming by staff so friendly, check in was great. Our room 220 was lovely, but if you would like a quiet night (take ear plugs) as week -end entertainment can be very noisy & you can here all from the room. Breakfast was lovely & then again staff were friendly & very helpful. We would definitely return again & by the way had a fabulous meal in the restaurant. Thank you

We booked afternoon tea for our daughter’s confirmation in April. We had 16 adults and 8 kids. The hotel provided us with a private space for this. |From start to finish we can’t compliment the staff and management enough. No request was too much.|The quality of food and its presentation was top notch. There was ample food for everyone and when we asked for extra sausage rolls for the kids a fresh batch were produced in quick time. Teas and coffees were topped up at regular intervals.|The staff were incredibly attentive and special mention to Louise and Barbara who oversaw all and ensured we were looked after very well.|I’d highly recommend the Greville for afternoon tea or any family gathering.

We stopped in for Sunday lunch. Beautiful food and wonderful service. The hotel has a carvery and separate restaurant. The staff were wonderful and friendly and service was excellent. Starters and main courses were delicious. A definite return trip planned.

Stayed here for a single night. the hotel was busy, friendly, clean, and the service was decent. The beds were comfortable and clean. Water was piping hot. Hotel is a bit dated, we couldn't get a spot in the hotel car park either but all in all it was a great spot, good breakfast,.good drink amd friendly staff

The food was standard enough, but the service was poor from the get-go. The attitude of the waiter we had was appalling he couldn’t hold his scoff in when we asked for a table for 8 people. When we ordered he did not ask if we wanted drinks he was going to walk off before one of us asked could we get drinks, and one of our table didn’t get their drink until after our dinner was finished, and still had to go up and ask for it. Then when we went up to pay at the bar the girl asked us what our table number was and I gave her the exact table number that was given to us by the waiter, she questioned and we explained that the number was changed when we ordered and began to discuss the matter loudly with her Co Worker by the till, and then continued loudly talking to her while putting the card machine out to us and I also had to take the receipt out myself. Not one staff member asked us how anything was either, which is the absolute bare minimum in any place in hospitality. And also there was no manager to be seen on the floor which is desperately needed as there was no manners to be seen amongst the staff we encountered

One of the best breakfast I have ever had. Freshly made food of the highest quality. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Very comfortable. Great pub with music. Well priced. Very nice breakfast. No lift. I would go back to this very nice in town location.

Yelp
I checked in here for New Years Eve. It's a nice hotel, there's quite a nice, vintage feel to the place. Crooked stairs, old paintings. The staff seemed very rushed off their feet, understandably. The check in was quick, we made our way to the room which was four flights of stairs, there's no elevator, which isn't handy when you have to carry heavy bags or when you're drunk. The room was comfortable and bright. The bathroom was extremely old fashioned, with green tiles, toilet and bath. It could definitely do with updating! Breakfast was good, full buffet style. Hot food was served by staff, the rest was self-serve. Although, with the hangover I had, I couldn't enjoy the breakfast. But my goodness, the Juice went down a treat. The car park is tiny, it's almost impossible to manoeuvre a car around without almost crashing into another car. The hotel is right on the Main Street, beside a lot of bars, restaurants and shops. Overall, it's quite a nice hotel with very friendly staff. It could do with a little updating and maybe an elevator but other than that, it's great!
