Went for the unlimited $1 oyster deal and was not disappointed. It was truly unlimited. We got 4 trays of two dozen… so a lot and they kept coming. The waitress was very tired and therefore not that attentive (felt pretty bad) but they were sweet. The place is kinda a raw bar vibe which was cool. I’d return for the deal, the other food was pricey

Good bar atmosphere with nice drinks and food, plus 1 oysters happy hours. You can’t beat that!

I had zero expectations for the Happy Hour goodies, but this burger + martini deal is unreal! Honestly, one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Maybe it’s the double patties, the fresh fluffy bun… not sure, but it was seriously delicious. Gin martini was well made and the bartender was super nice guy. Love the vibe and awesome crowd here.

I had a birthday party here recently and booked the main room. Not only did I think this, but my friends as well - the music was perfect (throwbacks, hip hop), staff was so kind and they even gave a little surprise, sparkles! We had the night of our life, I would highly recommend coming here for a night out! One of my new fav places in the LES

I hosted a murder mystery birthday party for my sister’s 35th birthday and rented out the Colby Room. The pricing was very fair for the three-hour rental (we were even able to decorate the entire room to match our theme), and the food was honestly incredible (!!). Everything was so delicious and exceeded my expectations. All of the staff was amazing and so attentive throughout the event. A huge thank you to our bartender, Tree, who made sure we always had everything we needed and kept the service running smoothly. I also want to give an extra special shoutout to the events manager, Danielle. She helped me every step of the way, from building the schedule to selecting the menu, and she even gave helpful advice throughout the planning process. She was so personable and made me feel completely comfortable and confident in this special event, even while I was planning everything from Los Angeles. The whole night went seamlessly. I would absolutely come back for another private event and highly recommend this space to anyone considering hosting one.

I rented out a room here for my 30th birthday dinner and the experience was amazing. The entire team was extremely easy to work with, food and drinks were delicious, and the space was beautiful. Our party had our own bartender (his name was Tree, not sure if I’m spelling correctly) and he was absolutely awesome! He went above and beyond serving us and making amazing drinks. I’d highly recommend Grey Lady if you’re looking to book a private party! Amazing experience all around, 10/10.

I randomly passed by this seafood spot and decided to stop — so glad I did! I had the lobster bun and oysters, and both were incredibly fresh and tasty. The outdoor seating had such good vibes, perfect for enjoying a relaxed meal by the street. Great find, and I’ll definitely come back!

We had a great time! We came for happy hour oysters and they did not disappoint. The boys ate 72 oysters and since each one was $1, they were a steal! Great flavor. I got the wings and dip which were spectacular. Wasn’t too sure on what to drink so the bartender made me a custom drink which was superb. Lots of beer on tap! I’m looking forward to coming back 😌

First thing you need to know is Caroline at Oysters is an absolute delight! I was on a first date here and she let us know that she unfortunately didn't put our order in before oysters for happy hour were sold out. Once me and my date mourned our loss and resigned to a night without oysters, a few minutes later she let us know there were actually oysters available and put the order in for us ASAP. I'll be honest, these are probably the best raw oysters I've had in the city (my date assured me that I could def have better in the city but for how desperate I was to have oysters, especially with their dope HH, this was the best for me in the moment) so I definitely understand why they were pretty much sold out once we got there highly recommend, especially if you're a big fan of seafood like I am! The ambience itself is super electrical; low lighting, high spirits and emphatic conversations. The perfect way to laugh the night away and enjoy the company of others

I came in here so hungover on a Monday, woke up at 3, got here exactly at 4 -- that's when they open & that's when happy hour starts. I ordered 3 batches of a dozen oysters split between me and my sister. Do the math. I ordered French fries aswell and I found it very good (not a big fries guy). Service was amazing, and the ambiance is calm. Love a happy hour on wine bringing me back to life

Cool place with cool vibes. Passed by and saw the happy hour sign, place opens at 5. We walked in about 5:10 and there was one guy sitting at the bar. They $1 oysters and happy hour wine and beer and a couple of house cocktails. The $1 oysters were Wellpoints so we got a few dozen and beer and wine and had a fun time. It was a Tuesday and there was one bartender and one waitress. Hour later the joint was packed. But service was still good. Literally every seat was taken, its dark inside with a nautical theme and they played some funky cool music. Would definitely return. Points deducted because the happy hour menu was very limited for food and drinks.

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for a quick bite to eat and some drinks. There was a crowd but a good amount tables and seats available at the bar which was great. The place felt both busy but spacious. It was awesome. The music selection and volume were great, you could hear the music but still have a conversation at a comfortable volume with those around you. There was also college basketball on the screens around the place which was really good. The bartender assisted me in crafting a blueberry margarita with Don Julio blanco and promptly brought my order of 12 oysters (6 of two different kinds). Everything was absolutely amazing and I will definitely be back soon to hang out !

Grey Lady has become a place to meet up while out on the LES. Typically, we've stopped in during afternoon excusions so that is my experience. Nice bar. Larger and marble. Old school look and feel. Nice cocktails and happy hour specials on wine. I've only had food like fries but they were good as well. Worthy of a stop in. Get out of the cold or heat and have a cocktail. Cheers!

Food: $1 oysters for happy hour were very fresh and delicious - would recommend! Oysters are small in size but still plump and juicy. Service: The place seemed understaffed with just one server covering both indoor and outdoor tables. Our server was still very friendly and doing her best to get to everyone. Ambiance: The place is a good size with both indoor and outdoor seating. Good for both small and large groups. Overall, I would recommend this place!

I really enjoy this place . The staff is very friendly, I love oysters. My server made me a sampler, my wait person offered good advice re wine choice, I have been here twice . I thought the Crab Artichoke dip was very good. It is huge and dense. We lingered past closing time and were not ushered out.

This restaurant has one of the best happy hour oyster deals. We came here after getting reservations for a party of 4 during happy hour. The place was packed on a Sunday afternoon, but the hostess and waiter was able to get us our seats right away. The one dollar oysters are actually pretty big and they provide two different oils that you can use to eat the oysters with . The servers were awesome, the beer was normal, but the white wine wasn't tasty. Will definitely come back!

I came here recently for happy hour drinks with a group of friends, and it was a way better experience than my previous visit. Any place that offers $1 oysters (as of Dec '25 no less) has my business. The happy hour deals were good and the bartender and server were both really nice.

They weren't able to make several of the drinks I ordered due to limited ingredients, which was disappointing. The staff could have been a bit more welcoming, and the space itself is quite small. Prices are average, but overall the drinks didn't meet my expectations. I would not recommend this place. I will never be coming back here.

Amazing place to score the best oyster happy hour! I recommend to make reservations because it gets busy. I came with some friends on a Friday afternoon to get oysters for $1 and drinks. The first round of oysters were smaller but the more we ordered the bigger they were. The service was quick and super accommodating. The HH wine wasn't the best but the beer was decent. Definitely coming back!

Just walking by and noticed a sign on the sidewalk for $1 Oyster Happy Hour from 4-6pm which peeked my interest. They also have $6 beer and $9 wine. Located in the Lower East Side, this restaurant bar offers a great deal for NYC. I ordered a dozen oysters at the bar and within minutes these nice sized oysters were in front of me. I enjoyed every bite.

Came here for a night owl and I will say it gets so crowded. You literally can't move so I don't think I would recommend this to anybody, but I will say we came here for someone's birthday and we had the back room rented out for a few hours, and that was pretty pleasant, but other than that, I would not come here again. Also, the bathrooms are in the basement and it's a very weird bathroom situation very small. It made me feel a little bit claustrophobic and it is a multi gender bathroom so you are peeing while a man is like peeing next to you. I don't think I loved that, but whatever.

You should always wait at least 24 hours after oyster happy hour before posting a review, lest you sing its praises just for norovirus to claim your life the next day. Here I am, several days later, alive and well despite the too-good-to-be-true $1 oyster happy hour (until 7pm), one of the few left in the city. Wines are discounted to $9 during happy hour. I got the Riesling because I wanted to get the biggest discount possible. I was a little worried that it would be too sweet for me and it absolutely was... but that one is totally on me. I also ordered the loaded nachos, which were randomly incredibly good. They took an oddly long time to arrive, but the waitress was very apologetic and even applied a discount unexpectedly at the end.

I know it gets busy, but we lucked into a light afternoon. Delicious oysters. Beautiful bar, with big windows letting the spring light in. Really nice bartender who made good suggestions and conversation, but let us hang and chat by ourselves, too. It gets slammed, so pick your time wisely. An early drink on a Saturday or Sunday is your best bet unless you don't mind feeling like a sardine. But if you manage to hit it on a slower day, it's a great spot.

Love their oysters, especially during the $1 oyster happy hour! The appetizers are also great. Service is pretty good and laid-back, which adds to the relaxed vibe. Definitely a solid spot for casual drinks and bites.

Came here for a birthday. Bouncer at the door charged me and a friend 60 for an open bar that was already payed for since we were there for a birthday. Once alerted to the issue we went back out to fix it bouncer took our cards and apparently pretended to fix the issue cause we didn't receive any refund. On top of that place was way over capacity with not even an inch to move. Honestly the worst experience I've had going out in NYC. STAY AWAY FROM THE GREY LADY!!

We came half an hr before oyster happy hr ended, the oysters were amazing, fried calamari and ghost pepper wings were so great! Awesome atmosphere, we sat inside, service took long when it was super busy during happy hour, but the servers are great, loved them!

5 stars hands down. Amazing is an understatement. I honestly don't understand how this restaurant isn't 4.5 stars. First: food was excellent, the flavors of everything was seriously so good & the oysters were SUPER fresh. Come during happy hour and they're even better. Oysters - 5/5 - super good, fresh and the toppers are great Mussels 5/5, must have, the sauce with the bread is good and they give you a great amount. Cesar salad - 4/5 - good with Brussels, nice flavor. Clam chowder - 3/5 - was standard but nothing special Crab artichoke dip - 4/5 - great Lobster roll - 5/5 , lots of lobster and actually seasoned. Get it warm Calamari - 5/5 - great flavor with an excellent sauce The service is great here, small staff but they are happy to help. There was a small internet issue and the manager took care of us. Ambiance, nice vibe inside. Can be loud Becuase it's in a corner but overall great. Strongly reccomend

I came here at lunchtime with a friend. It wasn't busy, but it seemed like a cute spot. Plenty of people on dates. Drinks are good. We started with the shrimp and fries. I didn't expect the shrimp to be that big. I'm not a crinkle-cut fry guy, but these were so delicious. The artichoke dip was good. The lobster roll was so amazing. Do I think it was worth $45? No, but I understand lobster isn't cheap, and the business won't pay for itself, so it's worth trying. I also tried the Poboy sandwich, and I should've gotten the cheeseburger. Poboy sandwich was just OK. Overall, I had an amazing experience and would come back, dear servers if you're leaving for a date at least inform your table.

Service was great! Just the cutest little spot! $1 oysters for happy hour. And $$ off wine! I got the orange wine which was great and refreshing! The oysters were small but good! I love the squeeze bottles for the condiments. Such a good idea, and mess free!

Came here with friends for the happy hour oysters. However, was kind of disappointed with the quality of oysters. They were extremely thin and most of there were super small. We ordered a dozen (12) and they gave us two dozen (24) for some reason. The crispy calamari and burger was just alright (would not recommend). Table service was also subpar. We reserved a table but they didnt have the table ready and we had to wait another 15 mins. Did not give enough utensils, plates or refill water. The table was way too small to put our food so we had to rush to finish the food

Some friends and I got drinks here kind of late on a Thursday night. It was good vibes all around. The bartender was super kind and made an excellent espresso martini!

I'm stoked. They have $1 oysters at Happy Hour! That's so rare these days. Almost all the $1 oyster HH I know of in Manhattan are done. They just don't exist anymore but they still have it here??? In 2023?!! Whaaaat?!! I ordered a dozen. They were actually good and very fresh. Small but they're $1. There's also other food that I will need to come back for next time such as $3 clams, $10 crinkle fries, quarter pounder, fish tacos, maybe fish and chips, I'm getting hungry thinking about it. I was there on a Wednesday at around 6:30pm. Their happy hour ends at 7pm. It wasn't crowded at all, which was nice. The outdoor seatings were packed but the indoor seatings were open as you can see in my pictures of the interior. The service was fast. I was seated immediately as I walked in, given a menu, glass of cold water, and my order was taken promptly afterwards. The ambiance was great. They have high ceilings, large windows making the restaurant very well-lit, and I like the design of the place overall. I think Grey Lady would be the perfect place for first dates (given the not-overdoing ambiance, not messy food, and it's not loud or crowded so you can actually talk and have some privacy, yet it's a nice bar and restaurant). I would also recommend Grey Lady as a spot to hang out with your colleagues.

Probably one of the only $1 oyster HH spots I can find in the city now. Happy hour is from Sunday - Friday from 4PM-7PM. The oysters are small, but flavor-wise aren't too shabby. $6 draughts and $9 wine for happy hour. There's a lot of seating inside and outside as well. Would return for happy hour!

Went to Grey Lady for happy hour for some dollar oysters and drinks. Oysters were solid especially for the price. We also ended up sharing some fish and chips which were good but nothing special. Think this is a spot I'd go back specifically for happy hour but I don't know if it's a spot I'd recommend otherwise. Just a heads up, if you sit outside be prepared to deal with some of the noise on Delancey Street.

The oysters were good and fresh and I loved the trio of sauces provided in the mini squeeze bottle + the peppery mignonette was good. Outside of that it was short staffed but unfortunately I was provided not great service which I believe was racially motivated as I was the only black customer dining and I watched the waiter check in with other customers regularly to check if everything was okay and if they wanted anything else. I even watched two customers who came in after me, get their order taken, get their food, ate and left before the waiter came back around to me. I ended up waiting 15+ mins to just pay my bill until my boyfriend came and insisted we just take it up to the bar so we can leave. French onion soup looks nice but overall was a 3 out of 10. Onions weren't even fully caramelized so it had crunchy onions + very watery loose broth with not enough flavor or richness. I'm unsure if I would come back here due to the blatant discrimination, especially when you can get way better quality food at Mila's bistro around the corner and I don't have to worry about discriminatory service there.

Honestly, we came here for the HH $1 oysters (can't believe that is still a thing!) and we're so glad we did because they were delicious... I mean I had a little more than two dozen. The best part was that we were there on a Sunday and apparently on Sundays, they extend the $1 oysters so that's a plus. We ordered the clam chowder and the French onion which both were delicious! For drinks, my partner ordered an IPA and our friend ordered a glass of wine (nothing too fancy there) but they had a classic mojito on the menu for HH so I asked if I could get a coconut mojito and the bartender was happy to do so at no additional charge... and let me tell you it was delicious!!! Okay... so the vibe! It's super cute, quaint and relaxing. It could be the perfect spot for a date night or just meeting up with a friend. The service was also great, we sat at the bar but everything came out pretty fast and we didn't have to ask for anything. Overall, we definitely recommend it and would love to try some of their other items next time we're in the city.

I had such a wonderful time at Grey Lady this past Thursday! I saw online that they offer 2 for 1 aperol spritzes on Thursdays all day, and I must say... they were DELISH! We got a bit hungry so we tried out the fries with aioli and ketchup, and these fries were divine. The perfect amount of crispy, soft, and salty. The aioli was fantastic to match... we had to ask for more haha! Overall, the service was great, bartenders & staff were super kind, music wasn't too loud, vibes were great. I'll definitely be back!

Cold East Coast Oysters. A little smaller, but lots of good fresh and oyster flavor. I am going back for the happy hour for more oysters.

A tried and true great spot for happy hour oysters! The drinks on the happy hour weren't that great however, but I only came for the oysters so I left pretty happy. I love the small sauces and condiments they provide for the oysters!!

I came here with a friend on an early Sunday evening for HH Dollar Oysters! We each got the dozen oysters. Service was relatively quick and the oysters were good. It was not too busy when we came probably due to the weather, but I heard it can get pretty busy at times! Ambience was pretty casual. I would definitely come back for the dollar oysters!

I've come here numerous times for their happy hour special on $1 oysters I feel like oysters can be a really divisive food for many people, but Grey Lady makes this bougie meal accessible to all audiences. If you want to drown out the flavor of the sea, they provide a fresh lemon, peppered vinegar, cocktail sauce, and a spicy Tabasco dressing. Service was exceptionally friendly and everyone from the bar, front of house, and runners made me feel like a star in a private dining experience. Good for a casual work brunch or a classy date. Now, I'll reiterate that this was a HAPPY HOUR so I got extra boozy while writing my review. I'm hoping to come back to try more of their food and drink options.

First was here to celebrate a "COVID is starting to go away" moment/ friend's birthday last year. The staff was nice and all I remember is that I got real drunk. Went here another time with someone and we had dollar oysters and ate them like we were drinking water. If you are ever in the area and want some oysters, check this place out. Disclaimer: I cannot guarantee that the oysters are still $1 for happy hour, but they are good quality.

This place is a rat race. Few of the employees are cool but this place plays disgusting music and serves disgusting drinks to be honest. I heard good things about this place but it was trash. Wouldn't recommend wasting time and money here.

They have multiple rooms to rent out for events but overall vibe is a bit dingy. Drinks were alright but expensive as expected. Bartenders were very nice and fast though.

Was in the area for a walking tour and saw the happy hour sign... $1 oysters. Ambiance was pretty, restaurant was spacious with high ceilings, fresh flowers on the table and all the servers were super nice. Would love to come back and try the rest. One minor issues, co-ed washroom... esp. same hand washing station. This seems to be the norm these days.... nope.

I eenjoyed the weekend happy hour. However we sat outside and it was almost impossible to get the waiter's attention. Crispy calamari was alright but lacked flavor. The drinks were bad and very water down. If I ever were to go here again I would probably stick to the basics such as oysters and french fries

Came with hot sauce and other sauces. Drinks were sizeable and good. Bathrooms were a little cramped. Contact tracing when you sit down. Socially distant tables.

The food and was great, the service was awesome and the place was so cozy and personal. I loved it! Also the oysters were amazing!
