This recently opened restaurant has received excellent reviews from TV critics which were not really borne out by our lunch experience. For starter, I ordered wild garlic soup with sweetbreads and although the soup was very delicious it was almost ruined by the burnt sweetbreads, which I had to discard. We both had hake with sea vegetables for main, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
The place itself dates back to the 14th century and has character but little atmosphere. The seating is very good, however. Toilets are outside. Once the awfully cheap pictures on the walls are replaced with something better, this might help. Service was enlivened by our friendly waitress. Parking was problem free.
I think this place will improve, so we'll visit again next year to find out. There are many other excellent venues in East Anglia.
