Google
Place was recommended to me for their amazing food. Oh man... I got the family chicken (yay leftovers!) and it was seriously the best seasoned chicken I've ever had. Super moist too. Yeah... I said moist. If you're in the area I would definitely stop by. Service was amazing too. OH.. And I HARDLY eat coleslaw. Theirs is amazing! (Salad not pictured)

Google
Best fried chicken I've ever had! My wife and I began with delicious bourbon slushes to drink. She ordered the turkey and country ham combination hot brown which she said was delicious and also huge. My fried chicken was cooked to perfection with the perfect amount of salt. Overall a great experience.

The first night we came, it was a wonderful evening being seated in the cozy tea room area, not crowded or cramped feeling. Soft big band jazz playing, clean, pleasant atmosphere with upscale decor with interesting rustic aspects. I had the grilled fish special which was Haddock I believe, and it was so delicious. Wonderful glass of house Cabernet. Amazing waiter, an older gentleman who was so attentive and friendly. Another night we were seated in a larger area filled with customers. It felt a bit too crowded for me, tables too close together but still a nice evening. A booth would have felt a bit more private probably. My salmon harvest salad was yummy. Everyone was happy with their selections but one person felt a little disappointed his was served with rye bread, that was not even toasted, and just looked like generic bread from the grocery.

Google
I've been here quite a few times. This time I ordered fried cod dinner. It definitely lacked some flavor on the fish. The sides were good ( mashed potatoes and gravy, asparagus, risotto with parm, hot slaw) and the appetizers were so good (fried green tomatoes & cheese sticks). We had blackberry cobbler for desert and it was amazing. The service was amazing and the atmosphere was great.

Jacob Greber

Google
Service and food were great. We all had the fried chicken special, which is every Monday. Not far from downtown. Parking is right next to the building.

Google
I was torn between 3-4 stars on this place. Nothing necessarily wowed us. We ordered a couple apps to try and a salad. The salad for $16 had mainly lettuce & chicken, and not enough other toppings if you’re trying to eat that as a meal. Like barely any corn or black beans. The chicken on it and dressing was good. But wouldn’t order it again based on lack of any other toppings. The goetta egg roll app was a small portion for the price and lackluster. The cheese sticks and pimento cheese felt more worth the price. The ranch was good. The Thai chili sauce was not good at all. The cheese sticks were good. The bread was good. Overall I felt like the $75 bill was steep but we did want to try apps so that was the only way. The only half order they do is on onion rings. The service was fine. Got seated fast without a reservation at 4:45 on a Friday but there was a big wait when we left. The place was decorated cute for Easter.

Google
I wish the food was better. The atmosphere is quaint and charming. The service is excellent. The prices are fairly reasonable. The food is just lackluster. As far as I can tell, the best things to order are the fried chicken and the fish dishes like halibut or salmon. We tried a lot of the appetizers, and I think the mozzarella sticks, the onion rings and the pimento cheese are my favorites. The mozzarella sticks were especially good. The steak was cooked correctly to order but was undersalted and fell flat. The hot brown was just okay. The mashed potatoes are good. The green beans are sweet, which is not necessarily bad but something to be aware of. They're not my favorite, personally. The french fries would be good if they were hot and fresh but came out cold and stale. It's a nice place to go out to eat, but you really have to know what to order.

Sean Smith

Google
Food and service was excellent! We got the pimento cheese with the warm pita chips for an appetizer which was delicious. For entrees, I got the fried chicken and my wife got the pecan chicken. Both were fantastic! For drinks, we got a new old fashioned and the special, a s'mores old fashioned with marshmallows toasted at the table! Everything was great and I highly recommend it!

Yelp
This place is top notch and has been for years You walk in and you feel welcomed We like the bar area and the bartenders are all fantastic I got a pumpkin spice martini so yummy and decadent The blackened chicken southwest salad is quite delicious The goetta rolls are a different item that you can get locally It's a great place to get spectacular food

Steve C.

Yelp
100+ year old restaurant that evokes a nostalgic charm and is loosely centered around horse racing and local area happenings of long ago. To me, it felt like much hasn't changed to in restaurant since the 80's and that this was the place where local businessmen made lots of deals. We sat in the bar area and the air conditioning was blowing uncomfortably the entire time. I had the chicken salad croissant, which oddly is served unassembled and you must assemble it yourself. The chix salad was homemade and sandwich was quite tasty. Service was adequate and prices were reasonable.

Michael W.

Yelp
Food: great Service: great Ambiance: great If they're doing the prix fixe when you go, you can't go wrong. Highlight of my trip to Cincy/Northern KY!

Connie H.

Yelp
Tried something new this time. Ordered the Pimento Cheese Dip. Would've been better warm, but still delightful. Pita bread was okay. Pecan crusted chicken still a top choice! Staff is friendly and with reservations, usually no wait.

James M.

Yelp
Fried Cod was on small pieces. Mashed potatoes looked more like a scoop of ice cream. Seemed heavily much overpriced. Service was fine & attentive. Dinner setting was fine.

Todd W.

Yelp
Sunday Brunch.. service was quick, Buffett had plenty of options both breakfast and lunch items. I hadn't been in years and had forgotten how nice the restaurant was. Friendly heads up, you can't order from the menu during the Sunday brunch. I wasn't aware of this.

Rob G.

Yelp
The Greyhound Tavern is a MUST if you are in Northern Kentucky for any length of time. A Fort Mitchell landmark for over fifty years (including the period when it was known also as The Greyhound Grill) it serves outstanding fare with the hospitality not often found these days. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The regulars will swear by their huge and delicious onion rings. You can't go wrong with any menu choice, the only drawback might be the limited parking spaces available. If you go once you will be hooked. They also have a wonderful bar area that is also popular with the locals, but is welcoming to newcomers.

Kevin B.

Yelp
We are new to the area and stopped by the Greyhound Tavern for lunch one day. The parking lot was busy which is always a good sign. It's a bit upscale but not pretentious. Try the bean soup for starters! We can never find a way to finish a big pot of bean soup so we never make it anymore. We don't have to now! We shared a Kentucky Hot Brown and we're glad we shared one. It was plentiful, hot and delicious. After all, we had to save room for dessert! We will have to make it back for dinner sometime soon!

John S.

Yelp
The service was great and they accommodated a large party. The place was nicer but the crowd was definitely older. Fried chicken was great and I also enjoyed the drink options. The mozzarella sticks were massive but tasted bland.

Mark C.

Yelp
It's been a long time since I've been to this famous Northern Kentucky favorite. I don't think I'll be back for awhile. Yes the food is very good with a wide variety to choose from. My wife had the "Famous Fried Chicken"...excellent. I had the pork tenderloin with the apple chutney...excellent. SO...why the 3 stars you ask. Service. Service was not good at all. Granted we were there on a Friday evening and got seated at a table in the bar area. Our waiter was the bartender so he was overwhelmed. He was also not that great. No personality. Felt like he was just going through the motions. Took almost 10 minutes before he even came over to us. (It wasn't packed as there were other open tables) When he did, he asked us what we wanted and that was it. Nothing else. Never came back to see how everything was. He also never asked us if there was anything else we wanted...just brought us the check. Disappointing to say the least. So, if you have a LOT of time to sit and wait then go for the food. BUT expect to wait to get it.

Eric B.

Yelp
Took my wife for Sunday brunch. The choices were somewhat limited, but each one we tried was decent. It is definitely an older crowd. We're older (late 50s) but felt young today. My only real negative was more of an expectation than anything. So many reviews rave about the fried chicken. For us, it was the least tasty of selections.

Liz F.

Yelp
We had a great dinner at Greyhound last night! We had not been in a couple of years and couldn't figure out why that was. The interior of the restaurant looks and feels so nice (and possibly recently refreshed?), but the prices for sandwich meals were similar to a more casual restaurant. We ordered the cheese sticks and pimento cheese for the kids to snack on while we waited for dinner. The cheese sticks came with very good marinara for dipping and the pimento came with fried pita points - both were devoured quickly, hence no photos! For dinner, I had a Reuben which was so big, I brought half home for lunch the next day. Our kids shared the grilled cheese meal and ate every last bite (not normal for them ). My husband had the barbecue on a bun and said it was delicious. We went on a Wednesday at 6 pm, and we were seated quickly. We can't wait for our next visit!

Laura T.

Yelp
We came here for a Sunday Brunch. We got it right at 10am as they opened without a reservation. It was a cute place, decorated like classy grandmas house. We had the buffet and it was great with a nice selection of breakfast as well as lunch options. We really enjoyed out brunch and left feeling very full!

Lee W.

Yelp
Good food and good service! Lots of options to choose from on the menu. My Hot Brown was nicely prepared.

Kim A.

Yelp
This place felt like having lunch at your grandparents. This historic restaurant is a local favorite. The staff was so professional and friendly. The atmosphere was fantastic with all the historic photos and stories. The food was amazing. You must try the cheese sticks!

John S.

Yelp
Had the fried chicken dinner and two sides The chicken was ok, but they were the smallest pieces of fried chicken that I have ever been served. Price was a joke, I will never go back.

Libby V.

Yelp
When my friend suggested we lunch here, I immediately went to Yelp and checked it out. And my friends reviews made me a little concerned because there were references to older diners, bland food and high prices. But after getting out of the friends section (whose reviews were all dated) and into more recent reviews, things were looking up. So I went in with an open mind. It reminds me of other historic places like the Campbell House in Lexington, and I liked the vibe. We sat at the bar...we always opt for the bar! Menu was full of good looking things. We decided to share an appetizer of Fried Green Tomatoes, and they were good. Really, really good. My friend had a barbecue platter, and I had Chicken Salad with fruit and a muffin. Everything was good. And I didn't think the prices were out of line at all. The bartender said she had worked there for 36 years. I love hearing that...it's a sign of good employer. I'm already looking forward to a future visit. Yes...it was that good!

Bev K.

Yelp
Your buffet was great and loved the options but the fried chicken is the best we have ever had any where! Our parents especially enjoyed this visit. We will be back

Shellie M.

Yelp
Oh man where do I begin this place reminds me of a cozy nook type restaurant that they would place at the corner of any historical sites, that one corner place with real good homemade cooking that's Greyhound tavern , I say that never physically being there but it's the vibes I get from my delivery order a delivery order alone told me that ! The food is all fresh and taste homemade not one item that me and my family tried tasted premade or frozen everything was fresh you could tell , We had the cheese sticks which it's rare to find a place that make their own version of mozzarella sticks that alone set the vibe of the greatness to come they were so big and sooooo gooodd We tried the fried green tomatoes which were absolutely divine highly recommended trying those as well I had a cheeseburger which was cooked perfectly and was so juicy and good We had the bread pudding for dessert - which is different flavors either every week or every month not sure which But wow ! I swear I feel like someone's grandma was back in that kitchen making that bread with a lot of love I've never had other flavors of bread pudding and the blueberry version was absolutely amazing that alone has me wanting to come back Everything on their menu is absolutely delicious and guaranteed to have you leaving stuffed and your belly full with a smile on your face

Yelp
Historic and classic restaurant that has Very loyal customers and based in the large groups seems to be a favorite for Many extended families . Daily specials including Saturday prime rib. Wait staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. We were a table of four and split the onion ring appetizer-huge portion that was breaded and deep fried. The angel Pasta with chicken was huge but the chicken pieces were not necessary & they seemed to be Tyson strips.-not homemade. The hot brown was a classic that was very popular. Make a reservation Take in the atmosphere , & enjoy the pictures of the trolly. The menu has quite a few options so try some of the popular dishes to step back in time. It is an experience to savor.

Erin W.

Yelp
Greyhound Tavern is a well known, well established restaurant that, for some reason, I just hadn't tried yet. Well decided to celebrate a birthday with a Monday dinner reservation and I feel like I inadvertently deprived myself of a wonderful restaurant! Four of us split goetta egg rolls which were very good. My MIL is a longtime fan of the Monterey Chicken, My FIL opted for the Pork Tenderloin, husband had the Mediterranean Chicken and I had the Pork Chops. Everything was tasty! Those of us that aren't quitters finished cleaned our plates and some of us had enough for lunch tomorrow. The Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie was like a Reese's Cup pie on steroids!!! And the warm Berry Cobbler was naturally sweet but not "sugary". On top of that, the service was top notch. Highly recommend and will return for sure

Shotty N.

Yelp
It saddens me to give the Greyhound Tavern a bad review. As we have always enjoyed eating there. We were there on December 6 and sadly the food we ordered was subpar at best. I ordered the open-faced roast beef entree. I have ordered this entree before and it was always good. This time however the mash potatoes were barely warm. There was no gravy on the mashed potatoes or on the roast beef. The host who seated us happened to walk through our section and I asked him if I could get some gravy for my meal. He was surprised at how my meal was plated and promptly brought me some gravy. The bread beneath the roast beef was stale and hard My green beans were very flavorful and good. My husband ordered the Alaskan halibut entree. The halibut was overcooked no flake to it at all. His heirloom carrots were burnt to a crisp inside and out. His risotto was good. In addition to the underwhelming food. We had an issue with our waiter. He brought us our drinks and bread. We never saw him again for a good 25+ minutes. A food runner brought us our food. The restaurant was not busy during the timeframe we were there. He had plenty of time to be more attentive to his customers. No one came to check on us or refill our drinks. When our waiter finally returned he saw the carrots and said "oh my goodness these carrots are burnt. I'm so sorry." He asked if my husband wanted a different side. Which he declined as we were both finished eating at that point. Needless to say it was not a pleasant dining experience for us.

Yelp
Recently went to Greyhound for lunch with a friend. I liked the look of the restaurant. It felt comfortable with touches like the wallpaper. Some might call it dated, but I thought it looked classic. Had a meatloaf platter since nobody else at home really cares for it, so I don't make it. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly. It was a very nice touch for my friend who got an Arnold Palmer (lemonade & iced tea) that they brought her an individual mini pitcher of lemonade so that she could get the combination she wanted. It was such a cute little bitty pitcher that I almost wanted to order the same thing just to get one. Will go back.

Matt L.

Yelp
Close to a 5! I'd heard about the Greyhound for years and finally came on my way to the airport. If only we'd all ordered what I ordered, it's a 5...but alas, we didn't. Let's start with the good. I had a bourbon slush, which was awesome on a hot day. I ordered the pork tenderloin and found it near-perfect: fruit, creamy sauce, cooked with moistness left in it. Now, for the bad, my girlfriend had the walleye. Look, it might just be walleye--I haven't eaten a lot since I moved to the West Coast. She soldiered through it, but when I tried some, I thought it was a misfire. The fish was a bit greasy and flavorless. Normally you could overcome that with good breading, but the breading also lacked any panache. Good service, good atmosphere, good pork -- but I can't forget that walleye, alas.

Rmrm R.

Yelp
We're locals & have been eating at Greyhound for 50 years. Historically the food & atmosphere has always been top notch. This is not a pub with loud music. You can actually hear your dinner companions. However, we find that the quality & cost has dragged the restaurant down. Recently I had the salmon w Bearnaise. It was dry, not a good cut & the sauce tasted mayonnaisey. My husband was not satisfied with the Biggie' burger which in the past wasn't an issue. The staff was professional & did a good job. We understand high prices affect the restaurant industry & hope that improves soon.

Gina M.

Yelp
The Sunday brunch buffet was delicious and there was an abundance of fresh food. We had a very attentive server who kept my coffee warm and full!

Linda T.

Yelp
5 stars it was excellent. Tried to get reservations and was told no availabity from 9-2, I ask if they would take my name and call if they had a cancellation. They never called. We dropped by and they could seat us on the patio, it was a little chilly , but grateful we could have our Easter lunch there.

Kim M.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere, great service! The mozzarella sticks are amazing!!!! Definitely recommend this place!!!

Renee M.

Yelp
Most food ok. The greasy smell and dark & dingy, not so much. I only go here when elderly people drag me

MaryLinda W.

Yelp
Greyhound Tavern was my MIL's favorite Northern Kentucky restaurant, and going there now is a visit in her memory. We met some local family there after church for the Sunday brunch buffet and were not disappointed even with the restaurant under new ownership. The buffet has 2 lines, one with breakfast foods and the other with lunch items like fried chicken, green beans, and mashed potatoes, so everyone can find something that they like. The buffet also includes salads and desserts. My favorites include the goetta on the breakfast line. We were all glad to see that the place served the same menu that has made it a family favorite.

Cheryl S.

Yelp
Enjoyed a dinner on the patio at this lovely venue. The restaurant offers a beautiful casual setting with delicious menu offerings. The portions were well above "normal" size and prices were excellent for what is served. The staff were courteous and prompt. I am anxious to try the Sunday brunch soon!

Rhonda B.

Yelp
Was so anxious to try...sadly very disappointed. fried chicken was way too salty, homemade mashed potatoes taste like instant, if these are homemade, someone is using water instead of milk. Husbands roast beef sandwich was not very flavorful, very salty, gravy tasted like canned. (Both on beef and chicken). Please take the salt shaker away from your cooks.

Debra C.

Yelp
Great food & service! Looking forward to going back . The fried chicken was delicious .

Jim J.

Yelp
This place is a classic and remains a great spot. The food is always consistent and very good. I haven't even tried their fried chicken, and that's what they are known for! Rachel, our server, was very busy but held it together. The food times were super long. Luckily, it was worth the wait. We skipped dessert although they have a nice selection. I'll keep coming back!

Adam E.

Yelp
It is outstanding. From the service to the food. Everything about it. This time we had the onion rings appetizer and fried chicken and the cod sandwich.

Sam S.

Yelp
Are you 80, enjoy terrible ambiance, canned veggies, and shoe leather steaks priced north of $40? This is the place for you. A select few servers are good. Fried chicken is excellent. Everything else should be redone. The clientele will complain but they're literally a dying breed anyway. Holland can do so much better with this space.

Mark E.

Yelp
We were looking for a brunch place for after church...not a national chain. We found the Greyhound Grill. I had been to dinner here about 30 years ago (WAY before Yelp) and as I remember, it was decent, so why not. It really is a decent setup. It's about 20 bucks a head and you have a breakfast line and a lunch line...and, oh yeah, a dessert line. They had what looked like sausage...but it was goetta and what looked like hot dogs, but that was the sausage. Aside from the mistaken identity, the was pretty good. On the lunch side (yeah I had both...all 3 with dessert...oink) the fried chicken was awesome...and they had fried clam strips (sort of weird surf-n-turf...but it works). So, after a couple of trips, I had my fill and waddled back to my vehicle. This was an enjoyable brunchner trip and we will likely be back.

Bruce Y.

Yelp
When I worked in Ft. Mitchell, I ate here frequently. Now it is a special event to come here. Today I was celebrating my birthday, and got a wonderful meal to do so with. The waitress wasn't exactly friendly, but she provided excellent service. I hope she was just having a bad day. I had the halibut, which is one of my favorites, and it was as good as ever. The risotto it is served with is creamy, with a generous amount of cheese. The topping on the halibut is very tasty. Their hot slaw has small lardons of bacon instead of the more common crumbles, making it especially good. I've heard that their fried chicken isn't as good with the new owners, but that it is still good. As always, I highly recommend Greyhound Tavern.

Jeff K.

Yelp
We love Greyhound Tavern! Recently voted Northern Kentucky's most legendary restaurant. I've been visiting here since the mid-1970s. Recent ownership change has taken an historic gem and made it even better. It's been updated inside and an outdoor patio area has been added. Tonight my wife and I were in the area running some errands and decided to stop for dinner. The giant onion rings are a must, and we split a half order (4 rings), which was plenty. These giant onion rings are wide and lightly battered and deep fried. We eat ours with ketchup. Make sure you let them cool off before putting a bite in your mouth. I ordered the special, Country Pork Chops, which consisted of 2 boneless pork chops, lightly breaded and fried. They were served with green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy and a slice of French bread. It was delicious. The pork chops were moist and paired nicely with the potatoes and gravy. Like a home cooked meat & potatoes type meal. My wife ordered the open faced roast beef sandwich. It looked great and she gave me a taste. It was savory and served with mashed potatoes, gravy and green beans.

Kelly M.

Yelp
I'm between three and four stars here. I've been before and liked what I ordered better. This visit I had the hot brown with turkey...it basically had no flavor and should be a zesty cheese flavor. The toast on the bottom was so hard, I could barely cut through it with a knife. I should have had the fried chicken as usual.

Onallee T.

Yelp
Great food! Great drinks! Great service! Jamie was the sweetest waitress I've ever had! Hard to find workers like that now a days! Bourbon slushy & strawberry one were both to die for! Definitely will be back again!

Allen G.

Yelp
Great Food and atmosphere with fine service! Highly recommend! Thanks for a great evening.

Rick S.

Yelp
Had the meatloaf and it comes with coleslaw and mashed potatoes and gravy and rolls lots of food very good service as well

Kelly B.

Yelp
Went to a business lunch today at Greyhound. I had not been there for so many years. I went outside my comfort zone and ordered the Salmon Harvest salad with Raspberry Vinaigrette. I rarely order a salad without a creamy dressing or one with fruit. I got to say- BEST SALAD EVER!!! The dressing, mixed with the goat cheese, and the fruit and the almonds- my goodness that salad is amazing. I am actually ordering it again for dinner! Highly recommend going to visit Greyhound- and get that salad!!! By the way, the service was also excellent- kudos to the team!

Brian S.

Yelp
Excellent fried chicken! You feel like you are stepping back in time going into Greyhound Tavern = a true old-world, good old-fashioned service and great food 'made-from-scratch.' Great atmosphere as well.

Alan M.

Yelp
A warm comfortable atmosphere made for a family dining experience. We had a large group and our server was the best. She was very attentive to all of our needs. Plus the food was great!

Karen M.

Yelp
Good selection on the menu, great bar setting and good drink and wine menu. The perfect upscale neighborhood place!

Mike E.

Yelp
Ate here for lunch today with a group of 5. Have been here many times in the past, usually for the family style chicken dinner on Monday and Tuesday nights (minimum of 3 people.) Today I had something I had never had before--goetta egg rolls with a sweet chili sauce. I loved them. Had the meat loaf entree which came with some potatoes and green beans and I was able to substiture a salad for the slaw--wow--it was a generous sized salad and one of the best salads I have had in a long time. All our food was great. Barely had room for dessert which was blackberry cobbler with ice cream. Service was friendly and attentive. We will certainly be returning in the future, either for the chicken special or the Sunday brunch. A Fort Mitchell gem which has been around for 100+ years. Parking is plentiful.

Charlotte L.

Yelp
I have gone to this restaurant many times but this is the first time I was disappointed. Service was great as always and their onion rings were delicious as always but the fried chicken left a lot to be desired! I always get the fried chicken because it is always cooked right and juicy. Not this time. The piec were so small I was shocked! I may have to reconsider what I order next time!
