You already know the food’s amazing. This review isn’t about that; it’s about Bridget, the waitress/hostess who made four parents’ evening a breeze. With two toddlers in tow, our party of six swung by to eat in on a Friday night. It was our first time and once I saw how small the place is, I thought we had made a huge mistake. Enter Bridget.
She offered us (minus the toddlers) free beers from a nearby cooler, encouraged us to crowd around a high-top, and brought toys and crayons to keep the kids entertained. She said she’d find us some more comfortable seats before our food was ready and I, a man of little faith, smiled and nodded (but quietly disbelieved).
How wrong I was. Like clockwork, a table cleared and Bridget steered us toward it, bringing high chairs, water, plates, and forks aplenty. Our (delicious) dinner was dropped on our table and she continued the excellent service throughout our meal, even going so far as to comfort my daughter when she tripped and fell while chasing a rogue pepperoni.
The meal was great, but the service somehow surpassed it. I wish there were more Bridgets in the world and more Grigg Street phillies in my belly.
