It was my first time visiting Grill Gate, and I was genuinely looking forward to trying their food, especially since I had heard good things about it from my friend who had been there before. We ordered three different dishes so I could get a good sense of the menu, but unfortunately, the food didn't meet my expectations at all. The flavors were flat, and everything just felt off -- like the quality had dropped.
What really left a bad impression, though, was the service. Our server was unprofessional and lacked basic courtesy. At one point, while we were still eating, they took one of our plates without even asking -- which I found really disrespectful. My friend politely asked them to wait until we finished, but instead of acknowledging the mistake or apologizing, the server just walked off coldly.
We had already paid the bill and even left a tip out of respect, but the way we were treated was honestly unacceptable. First impressions matter, and unfortunately, this one was not good. I hope the restaurant takes customer feedback seriously and works on both food quality and staff training.
