Chef’s Restaurant Review – Based on Personal Experience
I am a professional chef, and this review is based on my personal dining experience.
We arrived at the restaurant following a recommendation on Google. Upon arrival, the atmosphere immediately stood out: a large, beautifully designed restaurant with an impressive, oversized stone oven as a central feature. The space is spread over two floors, offering a wide variety of seating options, including patio seating and comfortable lounge-style sofas.
There was an organ and a microphone set up, suggesting live performances on certain evenings, though unfortunately there was no performance during our visit.
The menu is accessed via QR code on a website, and ordering a waiter is done through a digital panel system, which worked efficiently and smoothly.
We ordered lamb chops, rice, beer, and a soft drink. Once the dishes arrived, it became clear that the lamb portion would not be sufficient for two people, so we added a shishlik order.
From a visual standpoint, the plates were not particularly impressive. I missed color and balance—grilled vegetables were served in very small quantities, and raw broccoli was placed on the plate as garnish. From a professional perspective, anything placed on the plate should be edible and properly cooked or at least partially cooked.
The doneness of the lamb chops was acceptable, but I believe the dish would have benefited greatly from one or even two levels less doneness. There was no sauce served with the dish; apparently, sauces must be ordered and paid for separately. I found this unusual, especially considering the price of the dish (185 GEL), where one would expect a complete and well-thought-out plate.
The shishlik was served medium-rare, well executed, and quite tasty. Overall, the food was fine—but not memorable.
That said, I would be happy to return and try other items on the menu, particularly something from the oven, a fish dish, or a steak, which was my original intention.
Service was good. One of the waiters even wished us “Beteavon” in Hebrew, which was a lovely and personal touch.
