"At the Ch’ihootso Indian Market in Window Rock I could sample sweet blue corn mush and other Native-made foods that celebrate the Navajo, Hopi, and Pueblo culinary traditions in the heart of the Navajo Nation." - Arati Menon, Megan Spurrell
Delicious! We stopped by for some local food and this place did not disappoint! I had the Pork-chop Sandwich with Pozole Mutton Stew, the pork chop sandwich had a whole hatch chile inside that made the difference on a fry read; the pozole mutton stew was different from what I am used too but I needed to try it out. The fry bread was fresh and soft as well as everything else, we will be back!

Ordered a mutton sandwich. The meat was thin as paper, the potatoes were seasoned, but were not tasty. The frybread was a little doughy in the center. The table was half cleaned and had flies all over the place. Hot in the seating area. No greeting from cashier, just a stare. Waited to order until she addressed me.

We came here for mutton. The only thing fresh was the vegetables. There was also a small portion of mutton in each bowl of stew and about 2 ounces in the mutton sandwich that we ordered. If you're here for vegetable dish and lots of bread, this is the place. If you coming for a fresh mutton fix, Grilled Food Cafe is not the place. Definitely NOT okay for what we paid for.

Yelp
The roast mutton frybread sandwich was amazingly fresh grilled to order! Fresh frybread, fresh stew, fresh everything. The price is right & worth the little wait...which wasn't long at all. They have an awesome menu to choose from....definitely stop here again when passing through!

Yelp
Super delicious mutton sandwich! I highly recommend the white corn stew as well!
They have a great deal: with the purchase of a mutton sandwich, you get a bowl of stew (5-6 varieties) and a cup of hot coffee for free.

Yelp
Located northwest of the intersection with Route 12, it's a good place to try some Navajo food, and check out the daily swap meet. Tried the Navajo taco here, and it's good. Parking lot behind the building, as front praking lot is for the swap meet.
