The permanent displays focused a LOT on the German language and the Grimm Brothers contribution to it. Despite a rather bland topic, the displays were neat, and I appreciate the German language a little more from it! There was also an area for the fairy tales, and a "forest," more geared towards kids.
There was a special exhibition when I was there called "Imaginarium" - the extraordinary world of Czech traveling and puppet theatre. This was actually pretty AMAZING! I've never seen things like this in a museum, they were interactive, and it really made me feel like a big, happy kid, turning all the wheels, handles, and levers and seeing what each display did! This could be a very popular museum by itself and I hope it finds a permanent home! In any case, visit Grimmwelt while Imaginarium is there, if you can!
Finally, the cafe was EXCELLENT! Lots of kuchen (cakes) to choose from and, quite possibly, the best cappuccino I've ever had! I tried to tell the barista, but I don't think she understood my English. Hopefully, she'll read this!
