We were welcomed very warmly in Sigga's cozy and beautiful home. We got a bit lost looking for the location, but it was worth getting out of the main road. The host did her best to answer all our questions and to tell us about her life. We also had a delicious breakfast as part of our stay.

This is for you if you want an authentic, beautiful place with real Icelandic locals. Siggi was a heartwarming lady who made us a fantastic Icelandic breakfast with self-made items at her home. It was located ideally for our island round-trip. If you arrive not too late, you will find nice books on Iceland on the terrace, a guest book, and a globe where people can pin their hometowns. They, meanwhile, invested in a nice bathroom, sink, and a lovely terrace, so some of the other reviews might be outdated. Btw, her self-made knit-ware socks are awesome 🧶😎.

What a beautiful place to stay. Very charming house in a peaceful and quiet surrounding. The host was very friendly and welcomed us warmly. We enjoyed a delicious and lovely breakfast with homemade smoked lamb. High recommendation if you are looking for a quiet stay.

The place is very simple. One toilet for each gender. Men's sink water was warm and cold. Women's only cold. If the road in the area is wet you can get stuck with the car. For a night per person it was 1500isk without tax. No sink for kitchen utensils.

During our 17 day journey in Iceland, we stayed here for 1 night. Accommodation was nice, and that's where it ends. The food and coffee were in different locations. No coffee in room. The owner told us it was a 5-6 min. ride between the two facilities. It was at least 15 min. on a rutted gravel road. The owner is not very much of a host. Very cold personality. Now for the worst part, the food. We spent $138 for breakfast and dinner (2 people). Here is what we got. We arrived for dinner at the designated time. Then we had to wait nearly an hour because another group was late. The dinner was served buffet style. They had chicken, pork, and lamb. It was so overcooked it was like eating shoe leather. Definitely the worst meal we had in Iceland. Maybe the worst meal anywhere. Breakfast was a cold buffet, and it was an improvement over the dinner. BTW, Booking.com's reviews are skewed. If you send in a negative review they will not post it. Stick with independent reviews.

Very nice room. It was clean and appeared to be brand new. It's in the middle of no where which for us was a plus. It's on the east road leading to Dettifoss. We got a good night sleep on comfortable beds. ||||The only things that kept us from giving it 5 stars are:||1. It's small. Really small. Like we can't fit our luggage in there small. I know Europe has smaller rooms, but even by European standards these rooms were small. ||2. The check in is 6km aware from the hotel where we stayed. It was a bit confusing. We go to one place to check in and then have to get back in and drive to the spot you were just at to get your room.

We were here beginning of March and were the only people there. We stayed with the owners in their house. Almost felt like staying with your grandparents. Freshly baked breakfast with meat home smoked meat and home made jam.||||Only stayed one night but could have easily stayed for more. The Myvatn nature baths are only half an hour away by car.||||We were told that in summer more people can stay in another farmhouse and campsite. Probably a very different atmosphere but undoubtedly equally amazing.

Only accessible by a very bumpy road. Barren landscape, lots of bugs. On arrival when we asked about camper van site they said because they didn’t have a bathroom for campers the only option was a room in the guesthouse for 30.000isk.
