If I were to open up a cafe/restaurant, I envision it looking/being very similar to Covent Garden Grind. This spot has all my favourite things in one place: cocktails, coffee, neon lights, artsy decor, and yummy food.
The minute I walked into this spot, I knew I was going to love it. Pretty strong assumption to make based solely on how a restaurant looks, but what can I say? I know good vibes when I see/feel them. And, I was feeling all the good vibes the minute I walked in here.
The patio and top floor were super busy, so we opted for sitting downstairs where there was absolutely no one. We didn't mind at all. We got a big comfy booth to ourselves!
Everything on their menu looked delicious, but we kept it simple and opted for a hummus and pita platter. Other things that caught my eye though: chorizo & smoked cheese croquettes, smashed avo toast w/ poached egg & chili flakes, sweet potato hariska cakes, and the fried chicken sandwich.
As for drinks, they have your good ol' coffee options, but they also have cocktails. My friend opted for the mojito, while I got the espresso martini. Coffee cocktail, why not? Their fruity and detox cocktails looked quite good. I'm bummed I didn't have more time in London to stay and drink here, because honestly, all the options looked fab.
Everything from the food, the drinks, the decor, and down to the service was fantastic. If I ever move to London, I want to find an apartment right next to here just so I can frequent this spot. I loved it that much.
