Gringo Tacos y Cantina is a little gem that completely won me over. The tacos are packed with flavor—each bite tastes fresh and authentically Mexican. The burrito was just as impressive: hearty, perfectly seasoned, and wrapped so neatly you could tell the kitchen really cares about quality. What I love most is how “real” the flavors feel—no shortcuts, just the kind of food that makes you pause after the first bite and smile. The horchata deserves a shout-out too: rich, refreshing, and the perfect partner for spicy tacos. Yes, it leans a bit sweet, but honestly, it adds to the indulgence. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but that’s part of the charm. The space feels warm and welcoming, almost like stepping into a friend’s cozy dining room. It’s the kind of spot where you can relax, laugh, and truly enjoy good food without pretense. So I finally ate at their restaurant, instead of ordering delivery like usual! Seriously, it's the best tacos ever. They import the corn tortillas because Vietnamese corn isn't right for making masa. Amazing tacos start with the right tortillas! Dong, the owner, is from Orange County, and as fellow Californian, we take our Mexican food seriously!!! If you want some really good Mexican food, hit up Gringo!

Wonderful staff. Super chill environment. Small cantina with lots of atmosphere. Hugely recommended. And half price happy hours which are even more highly recommended 😂. The higher price was only because of jugs of margarita 😅

We keep going back to Gringo out of many taco places in HCMC. We truly enjoy their soft, corn-based taco shells which remind me of the ones typically found in the US. Our go-to order: carne asada / baja fish tacos, refried beans, and tostadas or quesadilla depending on the occasion.

I came here twice so far and love both times. Our favorite is the fried fish and grilled shrimps tacos. The horchata is also the best choice too. No wait and great service.

Our other favorite apart from its sister in D1 (monito’s taqueria)! Always serves good food with good and friendly services and a cozy atmosphere. The refried beans is TO LIVE FORRRR. ❤️❤️❤️

We had a great (first) visit to this Mexican restaurant just off of PVC! The tacos were very tasty and they have many to choose from. The guacamole was fresh and chips homemade and crispy. As expected, the portions were reasonable, especially considering the quality of ingredients and the well-priced menu. We were there during happy hour, so also got a great deal on cocktails! The servers were welcoming and attentive. All in all, a great experience.

A good place for who love fish tacos like me 🥰 I also order beef tacos. Sooo yummy 👌 The staff are friendly and the music is good. Will come back again.
