The 20 Best Things to Do in Bogotá, Colombia (Updated 2025)

"I went to Gringo Tuesdays and liked how the weekly language exchange evolves into an international party: conversation runs 4pm-8pm followed by a party that goes late into the night, it's free entry until 6pm (then charged in tiers), and many hostels organize party buses from La Candelaria so it's an easy, fun way to meet fellow travelers." - Matthew Kepnes

A warning to all, PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! You will have your drinks spiked, may end up dead, assaulted, or will at least have your belongings stolen. I was drugged here with benzodiazepines. Ended up spending 2 days in hospital. They stole my phone, bank cards and cash. Spent over 8,000,000 pesos. The venue know about this, they have CCTV evidence of it but have done nothing. This may have once been a safe event for backpackers and “gringo’s”. But, if you value your safety or life, I would strongly strongly avoid. I am lucky to still be alive to warn others. If they had used more substance, or if you were a women, you may end up not so lucky.

STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS! Two of my friends got drugged and robbed here. The organisers didn't care and were of no help with the police, or us. They know these things happen and the newest 5* reviews are just because they offer a free beer to anyone who will review them. PLEASE PLEASE AVOID if you value your safety and life

Was not sure what this was going to be like but people at my hostel recommended it. Starts off a bit slow and you’re on the shy side like me it might take a minute to incorporate into conversations. The organizers have done a good job dividing tables into languages and levels (although I found it hilarious that the French were on the patio and German by the bar), During my night I met people from all over the world and had great cultural discussions. It switches into high gear with dancing around 9pm, which is fine but the DJs they had this time did a very poor job mixing between songs. I’d definitely recommend this as a stop for all travelers in their 20s/30s to meet people.

The absolute worst party in Bogota to visit. If you wanna feel disrespected, wanna be treated as a mindless money bag, go ahead and see it. They will charge you for entree, after you pass the entry you get in to a dead place where you see long queue waiting to get to another floor that is blocked by a bouncer. The bouncer will only let you in if you buy a bottle that you will be offered by a girl. She will say you have 2 options: stay in that dead floor or buy a bottle and go upstairs. It's a fraud scheme, you already paid for entry, but now they want you to pay more to get to the real party, there is no refund if you wanna leave. Bottle prices are ridicilously expensive. The party upstairs is shit, average music that randomly jumps from gringo music to reggaeton, but who cares, the majority of people are drunk gringos desperately hunting few "latina" girls. It's a sousage party with expensive drinks and staff that disrespect their customers. It's not a language exchange, it's a dumb gringo attraction of humiliation.

I didn’t have food but I didn’t want to bring the rating down. The event itself is greatly executed. I was assisted throughout it by Mariana who kindly guided me as I shifted from table to table. At time certain language levels are too busy to join but they’re doing a commendable job of facilitating language exchange in the city. I would probably be back.

Host in Gringo Tuesdays, are the best. They feel you like in house, learning other languages different than you native language. Also you can meet other people with your same passion

Absolutely rubbish attention and treatment. I went with 3 friends and we were treated terribly by the staff and bouncer. They almost didn’t let us in because of the way we were dressed. Honestly, we felt very discriminated. They had no problem letting other people in, but for some reason we had to wait for 20 minutes at the door, before they finally let us in. We were called slurs inside everywhere we went and I’m pretty sure my friend got his drink spiked. Once we told the staff, they turned us away and told us to contact the police. I had been before and had a good time, but this ruined the experience for me. Everyone should be welcome in!

A great space to practice speaking other languages and meeting new people, perfect for getting out of your comfort zone. The place is also really cozy and well decorated, with like 3 different dance rooms, each with different DJs. The music could use a little more variety, however. The staff is very kind, patient and helpful.
