This hike is roughly 11 miles out and back which leads up to Upper Grinnell Lake and starts flat, goes to a moderate incline for most of the hike, with the last quarter mile increasing to a steep incline (with steps). There's lots of wildlife, both small and large, so make sure to keep your distance of the larger wildlife (like goats and bears and sheep). The lake/glacier at the top is well worth the effort as the lake looks beautiful in the bright sunshine. It also gives a very nice overlook down the mountains, with views of the lakes previously walked by as well as other mountains in the distance.
I would recommend arriving early in the summer as it can get quite hot in the afternoon, and regardless bring food and water.
