If you're already in the area and you have extra time, this is an interesting place to visit. I wouldn't make a special trip for it though since it's small and you may have to wait to see inside. We went in the evening last month and it wasn't too crowded. I can see why Game of Thrones was filmed here though. The geology is fascinating.

A lot of people come here because of the Game of Thrones series. I haven’t seen the show myself, and still found the place absolutely spectacular. We went early in the morning and had the entire area to ourselves. At night, we returned to the parking lot to watch the northern lights, and it was a great decision—there’s no light pollution at all, making it a perfect spot for aurora viewing.

It's a beautiful one to do a quick pit stop . It has parking and the path to the cave is rocky so wear good shoes and also on a 10 meter walk up the cave where you can see earth separation after an earthquake

The cave was really really dark and you can climb in from one end only. Very short climb and it was really dark so you’ll have to use your phone light while grabbing on to the rocks so you dont fall. The water inside was really clear but its a small space so theres not much to do inside other than to climb in and out. The area above the cave was a lot more impressive!

Nice quick 15mins stop as part of our itinerary around Lake Mývatn between visiting Hverfjall volcano towards Hverir geothermal. Free parking with enough spaces during our mid-September visit. Cave is small so you need to allow other visitors to exit but its worth the visit. The spectacular blue hue of the water is not to be missed if you're in the area and in particular if you're a GoT fan.

Pretty cool seeing the location of the Games of Thrones being filmed here. It wasn’t too crowded and we luckily we had the whole inside to ourselves to take some great photos of the cave. The erosion they had on top of the cave was cool to see as well. Would recommend as a quick stop.

I was expecting a little more but this was pretty interesting. If you are passing by, it's worth a stop. Only takes 10 minutes or so. The cave and water are very scenic. You can also hike up on top where you can see where the earthquake created the huge crack in the ground.

If you have a stay near the Lake Mývatn area or have extra time, please do visit. If not, I would not make a special stop here. The cave itself is quite small and my mom and I were in and out in around 10-20 minutes. However, the cave is very unique and beautiful with dark blue water.
