This was such a fun experience!! My mom and I didn’t get to visit the blue grotto in Capri, and this was recommended to us by a tour guide. We were worried it would be super touristy, however it was really incredible! For only 5€ (maybe 10€) a person, we had a fabulous guide and a lot of fun!! If you have extra time, or if you don’t get to visit the blue grotto, come see Grotta Smeraldo!!

Arrived by bus. Follow the indications. You have to go down stairs and then take an elevator to the lower level. 10€/ person for entry ticket The tickets are bought directly before the cave opening. Would recommend going in the afternoon for the reflection of the light on the walls.

Small grotto with a beautiful blue/green light filtering through. Amazing natural stalactite and stalagmite formations. Had a fun Italian guide who rowed the boat and took us to all the corners of the cave. We won’t forget you, Ernesto!

A very beautiful and interesting place. The guide Ernesto was also memorable. With good humor

The cave is wonderful with the sunlight filtering through the water. The cavern is about 20m high and covered with limestone formations. The guide was pretty funny. The little boat ride in the cave lasts about 10 minutes. Parking is near impossible. We used the parking about 1k up the road towards Almalfi. 5 euro an hour. Probably easier to catch the bus.

This area had needed to come from Amalfi pear. Not enter from here directly. Please confirm boat ticket shop at Amalfi pear. For me, not so bad not so good to come here. Because of just one cave and like a pool area, not so deep and large cave, just hotel pool size. Boat round trip : 15euro/person Cave trip : 10euro/person If you have a time , just check at boat ticket center and join this.

Such a beautiful beach. Get there early to get a spot otherwise it fills up fast. We were one of three couples there at 8am. Very romantic.

Forget blue grotto, go here instead! 10€, no wait time, free parking and half an hour on a rowboat in the cave. The guide Ernesto said to not forget him, so I don't. He was joking around and showing the best details, and speaks the most important words in most languages with good english. Go here, get on a boat with him, and see the blue shimmer through the water!

Yelp
Go here with kids if you are passing by the area! It's a small cave/grotto you reach by taking an elevator down about 50 stories and then you exit, walk into the cave and hop on a mini rowboat to enter into the grotto water. You really could just walk into the cave and be good with the experience as the rowboat travels about 15/20 feet in a circle and the guide makes jokes about seeing a gorilla and other formations in the rocks and there is a baby Jesus statue under water as he makes up stories to give you an experience. For those who don't like boats and might miss out on the Capri grottos this would be an acceptable grotto experience for land lovers. The water is calm inside the grotto so no worries at all if you have any boat or motion sickness anxiety. It's really as calm as bath water despite the outside being a bit choppy. It was clear they are milking every tourist tip and dollar possible as the tips seem obligatory. If you go, to set your expectations I would say to think of this like the "it's a small world" ride at Disney in Orlando m...it's basically a boat on a track that just goes around in a small circle with some songs and takes way longer than necessary. Definitely the scariest part is elevator ride because the thought of getting trapped inside in a rock mountain shaft is probably the only thrill experienced here. Even if your kids stand up on the rowboat it's very stable so seems impossible to tip over. This was a stop we did because the day prior when we were in Capri the weather was bad and they closed the blue grotto (which someone reviewed here by accident so disregard that persons review) and I really wanted the kids to have a grotto experience while we were in Italy. This is similar to the blue grotto because of the color but I was really expecting it to be green so was slightly disappointed. It probably would be a cute way to escape the heat for a few minutes in the summer as it's shaded and cool. I was hoping to learn a bit more but it's cute for kids and what it is.

Yelp
The blue blue blue lagoon!! Oh so blue! Oh so busy! Oh so cold! And so cool! It's a must in Capri! Definitely a must!! The blue grotto!! You can take a private boat tour for about €250 for 3 hours and the small boats can actually take you in. Almost in!! Or hop on to the bigger tour boats. You can get tickets at the dock. It was pretty cheap €40 per person. 2 hours tour! They go pretty fast!! Once you get to the grotto: you have to buy another ticket to swim in it. It's about €15 and you're allowed about 5 mins inside!! Take the private boat: they can bring you after the grotto close which is 5 pm! And you can go in for free! And as long as you want!! The water was still freezing cold (50 degrees ish) and it's quite cool and magical inside!! Worth a visit! Come after 5 pm so you can have the whole place to yourself!

Yelp
our shuttle van driver made out stop here and gave us an option and...being a tourist, why not. took elevator ride down to the cave entrance, paid 5€ and got on the boat. it was nice and cool cave and they must had 3 boats that sat 10 people. to my surprise, it was very small cave with lots of interesting formations. one minute would have been enough but it was stretched to 10 min. natural light that was coming from the other side illuminating under water was quite interesting. our boat captain tried very hard to earn his took, yes he did mention for tip.

Yelp
Visit to the shimmering cave! Tips: Don't make a reservation. I made that mistake at a tourist information center and put down a 10 euro deposit which was completely unnecessary. Boats depart starting at 9.20 and continue until 15.40. They depart almost every hour. You can purchase your ticket at the main port of Amalfi. This was a great short 1 hour trip outside of Amalfi. I took a boat which was very lovely! You only spend about 15 minutes inside the cave (grotta) and there's actually only a small part of the water that shimmers. But it's definitely very cool. You have a tour guide who speaks in Italian and a bit of English. Very funny. Very inexpensive - 10 euros for the boat ride and 5 euro entrance fee to the cave.
