Grotto America offers an authentic culinary experience with a refreshing twist of innovation. Traditional flavors are honored while subtle modern techniques elevate the dishes without overshadowing their roots. We had the pleasure of dining in a beautifully appointed indoor room, which added to the charm and comfort of the evening. A memorable setting paired with thoughtful cuisine… definitely worth a visit.

We were lucky to found this restaurant randomly while going for a swim in Valle Maggia. We sat outside and had a lovely lunch under the sun with live music from Francesco. The fresh goat cheese was delicious as well as the polenta. The restaurant was busy. The service was a bit slow and we waited a bit too long for our main course (40min) and bill. But overall, I would go back if I’m in the region.

Lovely place with beautiful nature all around! Cozy and very authentic atmosphere, delicious food. We enjoyed. The best polenta we’ve ever had! So good!! Definitely recommend it! Service was great, very friendly and welcoming staff.

We traveled from USA to visit cousins in Bellinzona area. They took us here for lunch. The atmosphere and the food were both phenomenal. I ate the polenta with Scrachin (Gorgonzola). Memories of my swiss grandparents came flooding back. ♥️🇨🇭

Great food in a nice location, ideally situated close to the river in a quiet place. The only downside are the tables which are so low that it is virtually impossible to fit your legs comfortably below them - unless you’re a kid. Otherwise I would recommend the place as it is one where you can find typical ticinese food - their specialty being polenta!

Perfect. Great to see a place that has been always great but everytime I come back, it feels better and better. Incredible vibe, location and traditional food cooked with love. Congrats to the owners and the whole team! A must stop in Ticino!!

The location and the garden dinning setting are incredible and the service staff are very friendly and fluent in English. The stone slab tables and cozy corners are inviting and stunning. For such an extraordinary setting however, the food is just ok. Nothing memorable and lacks verity. I had a very salty polenta with rabbit meat which I didn’t even finish. This place came highly recommended from our friends who live in Ticino, as a place where people take their kids for last dinner before departing for America, hence the name.
