The Best Resorts in Bermuda

"As Bermuda’s only all-inclusive resort, Grotto Bay lets you take full advantage of meals across three restaurants, theme-night buffets, unlimited drinks, water-sports equipment rentals, and even a public-transportation pass; the 201-room property also features private beaches and a standout Natura Spa that offers treatments inside a 500,000-year-old natural cave of stalactites and stalagmites, providing a uniquely relaxing experience." - Lydia Mansel Lydia Mansel Lydia Mansel is a writer with more than eight years of experience editing and writing for both brands and online publications—with a particular focus on travel, fashion, and lifestyle. The Cheapest Nicest All-Inclusive Resorts, From Crete to Cancun

"It’s not easy to make a little money go very far in Bermuda, sitting atop Numbeo’s Cost of Living index as it does (second place, Switzerland, comes in more than 30 points below Bermuda’s 141.8 score). But it would be a shame to miss out on the tiny island’s pleasures and beauties, namely the beautiful blue waters beautifully contrasting the pastel stucco buildings, and Groot Bay Beach Resort makes a stay on the island as affordable as can be without sacrificing loveliness. With the all-inclusive plan, you’ll have the run of three restaurants, the private beach, and as much water sports equipment as your heart desires."

How to Plan the Perfect Trip to Bermuda

"I appreciated that Grotto Bay Beach Resort & Spa is the only hotel in Bermuda offering an all-inclusive option; the property spreads over 21 acres along Bailey's Bay with a welcoming, family-friendly vibe and great beach and water-sports options, and its spa sits amid crystal caves coated in 500,000-year-old stalactites and stalagmites with crystal-clear water beneath—one of the most awe-inspiring settings in the world for a massage." - Skye Sherman Skye Sherman Skye Sherman is a travel writer based in West Palm Beach, Florida. The resort itself is nice and a good option as it’s close to the airport if you are arriving late or leaving early. If you plan on exploring outside- know that sidewalks aren’t a thing here so local transit is your safest option. Swimming in cathedral cave was a bonus. If you’re looking for a nice beach to walk- this isn’t the spot. Breakfast buffet was good but overall found everything pricey for what you got.

Location is as convenient as it gets - 5min Taxi from airport (12USD). Staff is top notch and the entire resort is very clean and sanitary...except for the pool. The rooms are significantly lacking: beds are very uncomfortable and the A/C unit is very loud...hard to sleep at night....especially since there are a bunch of chickens and roasters running wild all over the resort "cock adoodle dooing" all night/early moning.

We had a wonderful time at Grotto Bay Resort. The Staff was the best. We visited on the All-inclusive plan and found both restaurants excellent. I need to mention one staff member who went above and beyond to make our stay special, Andi who was our waiter treated us like family and took care of our needs. We were sad not only to leave but saying goodbye to our new friend Andi. The pool and beach was spotless. Service at the bars was fast and friendly. The only issue was that the room could use some updating but since we spent so little time in the room it was fine. Grotto Bay provided us with bus and ferry passes and the bus stop is conveniently located at end of driveway. In closing we had a wonderful visit and will start planning our return trip.

Myself, husband and daughter have just returned from Bermuda staying at the Grotto Bay Resort & Spa. ||All I suggest is if you visit this hotel please ignore any negativity. ||The hotel is spotlessly clean, all down to a great housekeeping team. Cannot fault the friendliness and hospitality of all the staff from the reception desk, such a warm welcome. Restaurant, bar and pool bar staff are all a credit to the hotel, very polite, attentive and friendly. ||We were on the all inclusive plan, the food was beautifully presented and delicious and spoilt for choice what to eat. ||Only one gripe for me was there were only certain cocktails you could have on the all inclusive plan and I was charged an additional $5.85 for ordering a cocktail which wasn’t on the list, I wasn’t aware until I’d been presented with the drink, to me all inclusive should mean all inclusive including any drink, however it didn’t spoil my week. ||The rooms were very clean and we had beautiful white towels replenished daily the beds were a bit on the small side for two people, and my daughter who is 5ft 8ish her feet dangled off the end of the bed 🤣||The pool was kept very well maintained and clean. ||The cathedral caves in the resort is a must to try although brace yourselves as the water is very cold but definitely worth the dip as the water is crystal clear. ||The DJ on a Saturday night was great fun, my opinion he should be there most nights so folk can have a boogie 😊||The Panorama rooftop bar with the fire pits were out of action due to inclement weather which was a bit disappointing for us but obviously not the hotels fault.||I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to stay at, definitely worth the all inclusive plan as Bermuda is very expensive. ||The hotel also provides bus passes if you are all inclusive to travel around the island this includes the ferry too, which again saves you money. ||All in all a fantastic place to visit.

Our stay at Grotto Bay Beach Resort, Bermuda was lovely. We spent our Monday - Friday visit relaxing, seeing the sights, and had a great time. The resort is a quick drive from the airport. Our ocean front room was not yet ready for our check in, so we had a delicious lunch at the Bayside restaurant. Check in was a few minutes before 3:00. The room (132) was nice, on the third floor overlooking the ocean. The bus stops are at the entrance to the resort, which was so convenient. We visited Hamilton (twice), and St. George. The bus rides are quite interesting, and we were able to see a lot of Bermuda on our way to our destinations. Very convenient and fun! Besides the Bayside restaurant there are only 2 other places to dine at Grotto Bay. Breakfast was a buffet, dinners are served in the Hibiscus and Palm Court restaurants, which are adjoining. We also visited the Swizzle Inn which is just a short walk from the resort, and definitely a fun place. Be sure to book a massage in the caves, which was a highlight of our visit.

Traveled to the Grotto Bay for a mini reunion with relatives from the UK. We had a lovely time. The hotel rooms are a little tired but having said that the two queen beds were super comfortable, the shower was great, the superior deluxe room view was lovely, room had a safe, buffet breakfast was great, and being amidst all the caves is super cool. The spa is underground in a cave which provides a very interesting backdrop during your treatment and is a one in a million experience. The massages were exceptional-well trained masseuses. Swimming in Cathedral cave is also very cool and exotic. This hotel is more affordable than many and so for that reason I do recommend it. However, you do feel it at times with lack of amenities in the room (one tiny soap bar and tiny hand lotion, no waters provided etc).Evenings had rotating entertainment-DJ disco night, sax player, historian which was nice but the placement between one of the dining rooms and the bar was a little odd. Overall, I would stay again and enjoyed my time.

I would like to rate this resort 4.5 however that’s not an option. I decided to round up to 5 as I had a great experience ! I went to Grotto Bay last week for my honeymoon. Positives- Location is on point. Super close to airport, but hardly see/ hear any air planes. Bus stop right outside of resort. We did the all inclusive option which gives free bus passes and ferry passes. Very close to attractions, we walked to some ! We were given complimentary cheese and crackers and a congrats card to celebrate our honeymoon. The food was the best quality of this resort. I have been to other all inclusive resorts, and the food here is a step above. It truly is more like a fine dining experience. The spa is amazing ! Inside of a cave floating in the water. In addition to that there is another cave that you can swim in ! Taxis on site at all times. When it was time for us to leave we didn’t have to worry about transportation- just walked out the front door and a cab was there waiting for us. Beds are comfortable and most rooms have an ocean view room. Negatives- Two of the bartenders were rude. My husband even gave one of them a tip and he literally didn’t even speak a word to him. It felt like we were a bother to them at times. No extra blankets, pillows in room. No water bottles in room. When we called to get these items we felt like it was a bother to them. Could have more nightly entertainment, like a show or something… Overall we had a great stay and I would recommend !

The hotel lived up to all the excellent reviews. It was such fun to see free-roaming cats, chickens, and roosters. We loved the complimentary afternoon tea and Monday night buffet. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and varied daily, it was so worth getting the meal plan for the breakfast. Next time, we’ll opt for a ground-floor room for a better ocean view. Overall, everything was perfect.
