Groundstate Coffee

I visited this spot in Dublin expecting a true specialty coffee experience, but I left feeling a bit conflicted. The Coffee: While it’s marketed as a specialty shop, the coffee felt a bit mediocre. It lacked the full body and distinct notes you expect from high-end beans. It wasn't bad, just indistinguishable—definitely not what I’d call "specialty" standard. The Food: I tried the brownie, and it was a letdown. Instead of a rich, chocolatey treat, it was mostly just sugar and seeds—very unexpected and not really a "brownie" in the traditional sense. The Kitchen: The breakfast and lunch plates coming out looked absolutely lovely, and I really wanted to try them. Unfortunately, the kitchen closes at 3:00 PM on Sundays, so I missed my chance. Verdict: Overall, it's an okay spot if you just want a fair cup of coffee and are there early enough for lunch. But if you are a serious coffee lover looking for a specific roast or body, this might not be the place for you.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I absolutely loved Groundstate Coffee! The brioche sandwich was amazing, so delicious and perfectly made 😍. The place is clean, well-organized, and very cozy — it truly feels welcoming. I had a wonderful experience and will definitely be coming back. Loved it so much! ☕💛

The food is quite simple, and the customer service is just okay. To be honest, as a tall person, I didn’t find the seats comfortable at all — they’re very small and have a back support that feels awkward. If you’re tall like me, I’d suggest looking for another place where you can sit more comfortably. Also, the tables felt sticky, maybe because of some kind of polish they use on the wood — they should really check that. Overall, it seems more like a tourist spot for people visiting the Guinness Storehouse rather than a place for good, local food. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Amazing breakfast!! I had the spicy chorizo eggs, which were 10/10! My friend had the breakfast bun, and the highlight was the revolutionary roast potatoes on the side!! Lovely coffee, and friendly staff and such fast service. Defo visit if you are in the area!

I really liked their decaf oat flat white, as it is hard to find taste that I like, as I'm not a big fan of floral based coffees. But their cakes were no no no, at least for me. Not sure if bakewell was fresh, as it was a bit dry. And carrott cake? I could not taste any carrott, I think it was oat based, I could taste baking soda and it was super sweet. I like sweets, but this was too much for. As I said, coffee nice, but cakes really killed it.

What a surprise this place was! Definitely one of the best meals of my trip. It was a truly unique flavor experience. I highly recommend coming for lunch and ordering the Pulled Pork Special and the Saucy Scrambled Eggs. Magnificent!!! What a surprise this place was! A little gem of a place. The brunch is great. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Close the the Guinness Storehouse if you’re visiting

Great food with two delicious vegan sandos and a yummy vegan blueberry croissant. The vegan lemon cake wasn’t my favorite but always appreciate diverse vegan options

Convenient location around Guinness and St. James. Can either order and stay or takeaway. Good coffee - worth waiting in the line.

This place is around the corner from Guinness Storehouse. We knew we needed food in our bellies before our Guinness, so we stopped in on a whim. BEST decision. We ordered the ham and cheese toasty and the mushroom toasty and split them between the two of us. They were both amazing. Highly recommend! All of the food was top-notch and gourmet.

So beyond happy our air bnb is about 30 seconds from this spot! This breakfast spot is exactly my style! I'm from California, so they have a ton of vegetarian options as well as meat options. Their coffee is great. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and I do love that you order up at the counter and then find a spot to sit. I got the spicy tofu scramble with kale and it was *chefs kiss*...filling, tasty and healthy! Couldn't have asked for more. Pricing is reasonable, and their food is freshly made. We will be back several times before we move to our next Airbnb.

Ridiculous how good this spot is. Absolutely delicious food and coffee. Busy spot, but they do take reservations and seem to accommodate the walk ins quite well.

Phenomenal! Love the overnight oats and the cheesy mushroom toastie. There such a great balance of flavors. The oats are the perfect texture and flavor, clearly made with love and attention. The pasti de nata are phenomenal I had about 4 in 2 days i couldn't get enough of them.

Such an amazing place! The food was phenomenal and quick. I got the cheesy mushroom toasty as well as a chai latte and it was ready extremely fast. The staff were all wonderful and so friendly. Great vibe inside. Could not recommend this place more!

Excellent coffee and service. Ordered a Cortado and the milk was nicely textured and the espresso was flavorful.

I love this little breakfast spot. It has a lot of healthy, vegan friendly options, but also offers some good and hearty meals. The food is really tasty and you can tell they use fresh local ingredients with their fare. I highly recommend giving this spot a try. The Toast and jam is great with some bacon. I also had the BKT and it was amazing! I will be returning!

Wonderful crafted short breakfast and coffee. Short walk from Guinness. I had the filter coffee. Staff could not make boiled or poached eggs but still worth it.
