Booked in at The Grouse & Claret with our MH. The site was lovely and peaceful. Having visited over the really cold spell in January we had planned to just visit some sights in the local area which we did. Need to give a big shout out to Tom who was oh so helpful and welcoming. There was a slight problem with their water pipes being frozen due to the severe temperatures and Tom had this sorted in no time ensuring no negative impact on our stay. We ate twice in the pub and on both occasions brought along our dog who was welcomed as much as we were. Definitely will return

The staff were so friendly and the atmosphere was lovely; we brought our dog and was very pleased to see that where we were seated was great, (not put in the corner or placed in a cold unpleasant room just because we d brought our golden retriever). The man who seated us came over and asked if we needed water for our dog, “what a thoughtful thing to do” We ordered the Sunday roast which was delicious, the meat was cooked perfectly and the vegetables were just right, we finished everything on our plates; the chocolate Dome pudding finished our meal wonderfully. Not only is the Grouse and Claret and gorgeous place to visit, but it is genuinely a very dog friendly place, we can’t wait to visit again.

We stayed 3 nights over New Year in the caravan park. The staff are very helpful, especially Tom. We enjoyed lunch and evening meals. Good drinks selection, ales kept properly. Smart well kept premises and caravan park. Ideally located we will be back.

I had a really lovely evening dining here. Even booking the reservation online was so simple to do, the setting was super cosy and welcoming, the food was absolutely delicious and service was so friendly, fast and efficient. I didn't feel like I was being rushed out of the restaurant after eating and the staff were very kind. There isn't a thing I would change about the experience and would highly recommend anyone coming here for a comforting pub/dining experience.

we ordered two rib eye steaks both lack of vegetable but the steak was tender. the lack of vegetable looks llke a modern trendy, people do not eat vegetable, But some people do like the dishes accompanied with more vegetable. three fish and chips was ok, one of them the batter on one side was soggy not crispy.

We visited for lunch on a Monday this December on our way to visit Chatsworth house at Christmas. We used to visit this pub when visiting the peak village shopping area and loved it so we decided to go back as it was on our way to Chatsworth. We were nervous it might not be as good as we remembered but I’m so pleased to say it was! It was absolutely lovely. Very cosy and brilliantly decorated for Christmas. Service was quick and super friendly. Tom was the bar and he even let my mum try some cider from the pump before deciding whether to go for that one which was a nice touch and very much appreciated. The food was absolutely delicious we enjoyed it a lot! Very traditional but elevated and tasty. We had 2 burgers and 1 pie, both were really lovely. Would highly recommend visiting :)

Had breakfast here at 10am Friday 3rd January 2025 Vegetarian sausages were ok, but the eggs, toast, mushroom, tomato were all perfect. Good service, good food - £8.75 isn’t cheapest, but it’s good value for good food in a nice environment, so well worth if you enjoy it. Top marks. Thx
