What a great few days this trip has been. This was a last minute booking for a solo trip I decided on back in January. After my stay I can’t be more grateful to have chose this lodge. Living in Florida my whole life and working in one of the top tourist destinations in the world (Disney) this was a great solo getaway to a place I never thought I visit. The Shuttle Service was fantastic. The Front desk (Catlin from Florida I believe) was very kind I really wish I could recognize all the shuttle drivers by name but the service was outstanding. || I’ve worked in the Hospitality industry for over 20 years and working in lodging myself I really see the care and help your staff provide. I wish I stayed longer but know I left leaving a piece of a memory that will last forever. || The room was great, and I felt the rustic look really brought out a true Northwestern effect on my experience coming from Florida. It can’t be as authentic as this. I plan to return to Whitefish in the future with my daughter in the near future and when I do, I’ll return back to Grouse Mountain Lodge. || I will for sure share this with my peers and others who ever mention the word Whitefish, Montana. Thank you to everyone for making this solo trip of mine stand out. The GM needs I’m sure has gotten positive feedback and hope recognizes each of you.

Stayed here for 2 nights in early January. I booked a Golf/Nordic view room through Expedia, and ended up on the ground floor with windows overlooking snow-covered tennis courts and nearby grounds. The room was quite large and looked a bit dated, but turned out very comfortable. The lodge has traditional decor, with multiple fireplaces going, both inside and on the covered porch outside, and overall feel and look is very cozy. They are located a short drive from town, and offer free on-demand shuttle to/from downtown Whitefish. I believe they also arrange shuttles to mountain/skiing spots but these cost extra. We walked from downtown to the lodge both evenings; it took 20-25 minutes and was actually a very pleasant walk through well lit main street in a nice residential area with quite some traffic on the street; it felt safe even after dark. We used their outdoor hot tub and indoor heated pool just once as it seemed super crowded in the evenings; it was quiet during the day. They also have a nice gift shop on premises. We had breakfast once at their on-site restaurant and it was tasty and with good service. They also serve nice seasonal drinks at the bar, i.e. hot buttered rum. The only small complaint is what I assume are paper-thin walls. We had a very loud person next door and could literally hear every word she was saying while talking on the phone etc. The hotel did provide ear-plugs on arrival, which I guess was a sign. All in all we had a good relaxing stay here and would recommend it to others.

Google
The loft room was better than expected. Was a great space for traveling with two high schoolers they appreciated their own space. There was a sink, decent size fridge/freezer and microwave. The hot tub was under repair but sauna was just fine.We used the shuttle service to and from the ski hill and downtown. Furniturw was updated.

We have stayed here for the last 5 years and love it! Perfect location, right in town with a shuttle to Big mountain. Rustic lodge vibes with a great fireside area and restaurant. We love the option of a lofted room with the two twin beds in a separate area. Kids enjoy the pool and hot tub after a day of skiing.

Everything that I experienced was way beyond what I expected. The atmosphere, food and the staff made this trip an amazing experience. From home cooking mixed with fine dining with a 5 start dining experiences. Logins bar and grill is the best in Whitefish, flathead valley and I would say Montana. I wish they did Mexican. The rooms are so conformable and beautiful. Every detail was perfect. From the cozy soft beads to the shuttle and beyond. The place is a 5 start stay. The people really made this place stand out. All the staff was what I will never forget. Thank you all for the best experience I've had in a long time.

Google
We really enjoyed our 5 nights stay for our honeymoon! I do think the resort needs a little updating, there is only one elevator, no outlets next to the bed. The hot tub was nice and hot, bed was very comfortable, tv in rooms are bigger than normal hotels, room service was great! We loved the amenities, and are not big golfers but enjoyed hitting some balls in the driving range. They have bikes they let you use at no cost, we really enjoyed some bike riding. Downtown is not far at all and I felt like the resort was close to everything. There is no “spa” like I thought there was when booking. You can open the window in your room, there are balconies on every floor to look out or enjoy your coffee. The staff helped us with directions and places to go. Lots of deer walking by on the golf course. Would definitely stay here again. Logan’s food was decent, wishing the bar was open later. We enjoyed our time here and made lots of memories.

Google
Our go-to place to stay in Whitefish. We have stayed here four times usually in fall/winter. Incredible value for a nice room and great hot tub. We also use the free shuttle into town - very convenient. I can also recommend their ski & stay package for cheaper lift tickets.

Google
I feel we had pretty good value for what I paid (it was the slow season so prices were much lower, luckily). I had done quite a bit of cost comparison to other hotels and such and this place was very competitive in pricing while still having great quality. Really the only reason I did not give it a 5 star is due to some minor cleaning issues in our room (found hair in the shower, chip crumbs in the bathroom and in the dresser drawer). I saw reviews about the hot tub not being hot enough but we did not feel that way when we went in there during our trip! The front desk lady (I forgot to ask her name and to look at her name tag) was SO nice, friendly, and very helpful! The "bar and grill" is much fancier than what you think a "bar and grill" to be but for the fanciness and quality of food/service, the pricing seemed pretty fair.

Melissa F.

Yelp
Only regret was only having one night here! Such a beautiful property. We walked to downtown Whitefish too, although they do have a shuttle they offer or bikes. We loved hanging by the pool / hot tub and enjoying the sauna. We also grabbed a few drinks at the clubhouse and definitely are looking forward to golfing next time!

Yelp
This hotel is absolutely stunning. We stayed for Easter and the smell of all the fresh flowers was heavenly! They had gorgeous displays of flowers everywhere! The buffet was delicious, the Easter egg hunt was fun, and the staff was lovely. The pools are nice and clean. The fire pits and space heaters outside are a wonderful touch when you want to get some fresh air but it's still a bit chilly out. They have several board games if you forgot to bring one. The rooms are spacious and very clean. We have already booked two more stays coming up.

Sarah B.

Yelp
Food was incredible! Ambiance amazing. Inside a sweet lodge you get an intimate and cozy restaurant that serves exquisite food with great variety!

Alyssa C.

Yelp
Seemingly nice from the outside, this lodge has to have one of the worst insulations ever installed. Many things were wrong: 1) shower didn't drain, so we were standing in a puddle of cold water. 2) the shower was leaking under the ground and wetting the floor near the toilet and shower. 3) the building is very old, loud, and creaky. 4) the heat was completely shut off and our room was 59° when we arrived. 5) poor WiFi 6) dips in the floor. We were here from Thursday night to Saturday morning, and even with ear plugs, the people above us woke me up at early hours in the morning, 12-5am when I decided to just stay up and say forget sleeping. We booked through Expedia, and when I woke up on the final morning I stepped on a piece of paper near the door. At anytime overnight the workers slid a receipt under our door... seemed a bit unprofessional. They had told us when we checked in that everything was paid for. But I guess not! They charged us 2, 12$ "amenity fee's"... we didn't even use any of their amenities because they are ABSURDLY expensive. They make you pay for breakfast, and then they have lunch and dinner available at the restaurant. The breakfast is $20 per person, and I overheard from a different customer that it was nothing special and not worth it. Glad we didn't waste our money. We had to check out and return the keys, why wouldn't they just charge us for those taxes then? Taxes like "Montana bed tax", "whitefish tax", and "pro assessment tax" What the heck is a bed tax, and pro assessment tax? I've never been anywhere before that charges that. When I went to the counter this morning to pay for it at 5:30am.... I told the guy that our neighbors were being extremely loud, hoping he would put in a noise complaint or give us some sort of discount, but all he said was "sorry about that".... Like okay... I understand it isn't his fault the building was made like crap, but it literally sounded like these guests were dropping dumbbells on the floor... ugh. I use 200$ sleep buds to block out noise because my partner snores, and I COULD STILL HEAR the upstairs people. This building creaks and cracks like no tomorrow. IF U COME HERE, DONT PLAN ON SLEEPING! The shower didn't drain, and I am pretty sure was leaking... in addition, there was a spot in the floor that felt like there was no floor boards and just the carpet, it was a huge dip in the floor... seemed like a hazard. The WiFi doesn't work unless you're in the middle of the building. They put us in a room at the way end of the lodge, and you get no WiFi signal at all. The only good thing I have to say about this place is that they have a sink outside the bathroom, it's very convenient. Update, this morning before we left, house keeping walked in our room at 8am... haven't even checked out yet.

Yelp
One chair, shredded washcloth, coffee pot had not been washed. 30 years ago this was a nice place to stay. Now it's filthy and needs a serious facelift. I stayed 1 night, forfeited my 2nd night and moved to another hotel. August 2023

Yelp
We were married here 25+ years ago and just wanted to check it out. It's still lovely, although the mounted grizzly that was the star of our wedding was no longer on premise.

Kathy K.

Yelp
Wonderful Lodge and amenities. Loved the coffee and tea in the lobby too. Staff was very helpful and free shuttle.

Yelp
Have stayed there a few times I travel to whitefis forbusiess from time to time. Lastwek I booked a room for and appointment I had for business. on 9/23, Te stay was Oct. 9th depart on the10th. four day later my apptointment got canceled and changed. so I called to cancel my reservation. On 9/27 they told me I had to pay a 30.00 fee for canceling. even tough it was stll two weeks away and just made 4 days ago. There is no mention of that fee on the online booking. Except if you find the terms and condition tab in very fine print and read thought all the BS and still it was double talk and made no cents Need less to say, BUYER BEWARE I wont stay there anymore. And to top it of the young lady I spoke with was rude and real didn't care just wanted to get on to the next caller.

Sara S.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel and big spacious room. I love that they are welcoming to dogs. Great location on the golf course. We will definitely be back and are wanting to try the restaurant.

Leesa H.

Yelp
I had booked well in advance to insure I had a room. I was charged at that time, not when I checked in. We ended up bumping our check in date and the rate dropped. I am still waiting for that refund. We stayed in room 117, with our small dogs. I put dry kibble down once everyone was settled in. I realized in the morning, that the room was infested with ants. There were hundreds of ants in the dog food bowl. It was really disgusting. The room across the hall, room 116 had a clock alarm going off at 6am. I think the room was vacant. I found housekeeping and told them about it and they said 'thank you'. The alarm continued for hours. The folks staying in 120 had at least 1 dog they left unattended in the morning. That dog yipped for almost 2 hours. We ordered food on the evening of the 19th to pick up. I was in the lobby when we go the call that it was ready. I tried to pay cash, but the gal at the hostess stand seemed put off by this because the bartended was too busy for her to get him to take the cash payment. To speed things along, I paid by card and headed back to 117. The food was already cold. Overall, I would not recommend this location to anyone I like or care about.

Yelp
Grouse Mountain Lodge made for a great home base while exploring Glacier National Park! The establishment is well manicured and has a fun rustic cabin decor. Our double queen room was exactly as pictured online. After a long day of travel, falling into the pillowy bed was a dream. While there is no free breakfast available, there is a little coffee style cart in the lobby that offers a nice variety of coffee shop style options. We enjoyed some complimentary coffee and purchased items on the patio overlooking the golf course. There is also a fun little gift shop in the lobby area as well. If you are too tired to venture out for dinner after a long day of activities, Logan's is also located onsite. I think my favorite thing about the lodge is the amenities! Great indoor pool and sauna room with a beautiful hot tub overlooking the golf course. My tired muscles happily parked themselves in the hot tub after a long day of hiking! So the only real reason for the loss of a star is due to two minor issues. Issue #1 was the bathroom in our room. Our large walk in shower only had half of a typical sliding glass door. Half of this large shower was just exposed leaving us moping up the floor with towels after showers. Very strange! Not sure if this is every room or was specific to us but I didn't care for that. Issue #2 is the fact that there is currently no housekeeping service. I understand that covid is a concern but I think if they can serve unmasked diners in the restaurant, they can send a staff member in to clean while guests are out of the room. The room rate and resort fees are too high to eliminate basics. I didn't get a discount as a result of this so I must deduct a star. Despite the minor inconveniences mentioned, I absolutely enjoyed staying here and already plan to return. I hope the full array of services are made available when I return!

Ernesto C.

Yelp
Stayed here for the night on our way to glacier. For $300+ a night, I expected a lot more than what was presented. The rooms are decently clean, just don't look too closely at the floor or upholstered furniture. We seemed to have gotten a room with a remodeled bathroom and it looked okay. Although we only stayed for one night, we found stink bugs would somehow find their way into our room. We let the front desk know about our pest problem and got a simple sorry followed by an explanation of how it's been a longtime issue but that it's just a mystery of how they get into the rooms and I got the feeling that this was something they just expect their patrons to deal with. Like I said, for $300+ a night, I at least expect the rooms to be pest free. The overall place has a very antiquated vibe which I don't mind as long as there's sufficient upkeep (which I didn't feel was the case here). Also be aware that since the building is so old, sounds carry very easily through doors and walls.

Yelp
Enjoyed a great four days of wedding festivities while at GML. Located beside a well maintained golf course our wedding was held outdoors and reception in the large tent "pavilion". Working with Tresha was great from planning each evenings events to the setup of the chairs, tables, and dance floor! The "meal tasting" with Chef Phil was a great example of the quality of all the meals! Among favorites were the Tequilla Sunrise Cheesecake, the lemon dill salmon, and the teramasu! Everything was served buffet style and the hot stuff was hot and the cold stuff cold! Very tasty! The staff did an incredible job from the front desk to the coffee cart, from the bar staff to the banquet staff, from the housekeeping staff to the shuttle staff. I would highly recommend the Grouse Mountain Lodge for any future events!

Diana E.

Yelp
We had a lovely room overlooking the golf course. The service was fantastic. Everything was clean. We enjoyed walking around the grounds. Such beautiful flowers. Wonderful experience!

Doreen A.

Yelp
Do your homework right before your stay! I had talked with front desk about their shuttle about 2-3 weeks before our stay - at that time it was "just call the front desk any time for a transport into/from Downtown Whitefish" at Markus foods grocery - ok sounded great. Reality when calling front desk from parking lot of Markus Foods at 6:30pm on Tuesday 7/6..... "our next shuttle is at 8:15" WHAT ?!?! The property is a food desert unless you deem eating chips & candy out of vending machines meal worthy. They have attempted to provide "grab n go" breakfast sandwiches / muffins which starts at 7am but when they've run out of everything (except coffee) by 8am - they do nothing to restock provide anything. Families with children need to know this. So with breakfast grab n go depleted by 8am - your next opportunity for food is at 4pm when Logan's (restaurant on property) opens daily 4pm-8pm. Pursuit Glacier properties need to think outside the box and not continue their food desert approach. Even FCA airport has sandwiches to grab n go along with fruit etc

Ted R.

Yelp
Here for a wedding. What a beautiful place. Ate at their bar area. Fish and chips very good. Also had the buffalo wings so tasty and just the right spice. Had a blonde beer and wife had a cab. Entire staff so friendly.

Paula P.

Yelp
I would also like to add to Ernesto C's comment from 5 months ago. I wish I was smart as him to take pictures. We were also finding bugs daily in our 2nd floor room. He is calling them "stink bugs" and our bugs were exactly like his picture shown. Rather large. In fact our kids thought they were cockroaches at first. Hindsight is 20/20 and I should have scooped them up with a Kleenex and taken them to the front desk, but instead we lived with it because the place was fully booked during our stay. I addressed the issue with Management via email when we arrived home, but no reply back at all. This really irks me! The front desk staff is poorly trained and when I had a question in regards to charges on my bill I was told "maybe the shuttle driver could" help me! Talk about passing the buck. This place overcharges for what you get. In addition, the parking lot was treacherous with sheer ice during our whole stay. In addition to pests, there is no housekeeping so be prepared to fetch your own toilet paper! I

Lee W.

Yelp
Great location. Had bikes to ride so that was nice. Nice bar/restaurant. I gave it 4 stars. It is probably more like 3 1/2 but I did not want to just give it 3. The pillows could have been way better though. Other than that, if I am ever in Whitefish again, I would definitely stay there again. Staff was friendly.

Matt F.

Yelp
When you pull up to the property you realize that the photo they use to advertise makes this hotel seem much nicer than it actually is. When we arrived there was a leak from the AC unit and the carpet was wet, and it still is. Woke up this morning on vacation to construction happening on our window. After driving through West Glacier and Whitefish I can't imagine ever choosing to stay here again. There are so many other places and wet carpet and construction doesn't really work for me on vacation.

Megan A.

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay at Grouse Mountain. The lodge had everything we needed for a long weekend in Montana. The shuttle, tennis gear, bikes, and pool and hot tub were great! And I cannot say enough about Russel. We had Sweet Peaks delivered to the hotel, and he literally ran it to our room. Thank you!!!

Dave S.

Yelp
This was our first time in Whitefish. Maybe this is the best as it gets. But come on! I thought I was in a Montana prison cell. The ability to hear my next door "cell mates" kept me up all night. And the intermittent train running close by didn't help either. I gave it two stars because the shower was nice. Full blast of water. That aside, try another place. Unless prison living is your thang.

Jacob W.

Yelp
Sara was our bar tender and was wonderful. She got our drinks quick and got our food orders right away. She was wonderfully personable and a joy to talk to. Would definitely recommend the bar service here.

Agnieszka A.

Yelp
We came for a wedding and the bride chose this hotel, and I have been so happy with it that I would love to come back in the future. They have a free shuttle that picks you up from the airport (and if your flight is delayed, they will watch the flight online for when it comes in, so you don't need to call in updates). The shuttle will also take you into downtown and back, which is such a cute area with awesome shops, restaurants, and bakeries. The customer service is amazing and fast, and every employee is so nice and considerate. Their coffee cart is great, cute gift shop for last minute items, and an indoor pool and gym as well as an outdoor hot tub. There is a bar and grill onsite for easy meals and drinks. And a washer/dryer on-site with complimentary detergent, and only $1 for a whole load to wash and dry. I'm stoked to go home with a suitcase full of clean clothes. And last but not least, OMG the beds are so insanely comfortable!!!

Brian O.

Yelp
Beat up old grand dame hotel decades overdue for a makeover. Still has pay phone discolored ghosts on the walls. Rooms were dirty and the service next to non existent but when present, rather surly. Better options in Whitefish from which to choose.

Rose C.

Yelp
I had a nice stay here during a trip to glacier park. The hot tub was a really nice touch after a long day of hiking. The price point is pretty steep but I think it goes along with the average prices in the area. The room was nice, clean and western themed. Helpful front desk staff and a very short distance to town make it a great option. They also have complimentary bicycles you can ride into town!

Meghan L.

Yelp
We came here for a 60th wedding anniversary celebration for my great aunt and uncle. The food was so/so. It was served in a buffet type setting. We had Caesar salad, beef brisket, roasted vegetables, roasted potatoes and salmon. Dessert was cheesecake with strawberry purée available on the side. The lodge had a 1970s feel to it. They had the older wood doors and fake plants. There was carpet in the buffet room and the seats were older. The bathrooms were big and clean but they were very far from the dining room. The service was ok. Our waitress came by asking if we would like more lemonade (we had half a pitcher left). We said we were ok. She proceeded to take the pitcher from the table and we asked her to bring it back. Not sure if I would come back here again.

Joy H.

Yelp
If this is all you can find it's got clean sheets and a good location. But for $375 a night no. Restaurant open only dinner. Would not recommend. They do not own golf course so you need to try to book way in advance. When originally built it was probably great, but years of no upkeep has left it looking poorly. Nice gift store. But rooms are and look broken down. Get a standard room not a corner suite. Bad shape. Pool is indoors and smells. Hot tub is outside and nice. Walking distance from downtown about a mile..would I go back? No

Diane W.

Yelp
This was my first stay here and I would definitely return. First of all... all the staff members are very friendly and helpful. Custom service is excellent. The food was great - we had an 80 woman retreat and every meal was delicious and fresh. And it's no small feat to feed 80. Our meeting room was comfortable and we had the screen, audio tables and chairs we needed. They had fresh water for us as well. The rooms were clean and a great value for the amount charged. The room was well stocked with a frig, coffeemaker with coffee and robes. There is an indoor pool on site that we did not use. The restaurant on site went above and beyond - I had lunch and dinner there and both meals were delicious. The Friday night rib-Eye dinner special was huge - and yummy!! The shuttle service was punctual at the airport. And the walk into town is quick. About 1/2 hour. Thank you Grouse Mountain Lodge.

Jessica M.

Yelp
Arrived with wonderful service from Dori at the front desk. She was very sweet and accommodating and made sure to inform us of the amenities. Our room was beautiful and the beds are cozy...especially since we're allowed to have our fur baby! Shuttles were offered downtown even on a Tuesday evening. We decided to have dinner in the lodge because we didn't want to miss the outdoor hot tub. Dinner was great and they offered great happy hour specials! Strongly recommend this place.

Haley S.

Yelp
Clean, spacious, friendly. Stayed for a few nights in one of their rooms with vaulted ceilings, gorgeous. It is a beautiful lodge with outdoor hot tubs, gift shop and a resturant/bar. The food was okay, the service was hit or miss. The bartender was great but the actual dining area could use some practice in timely service. There were never very many people in the dining area at any one time but twice the server forgot to put in our orders and we waiting over 45 minutes for our food. And by food I mean quesadillas. On another negative note, they were lacking in the simple amenities in the room. However gorgeous it was there wasn't even a tissue box in the room. A couple towels and not much soap at all. On a positive note - put the do not disturb sign on your door and they will give you a $5 credit to the bar and grill downstairs. I would recommend this place to others just for the convenience and because it is a beautiful lodge.

Nathan F.

Yelp
The amenities are nice (i.e. fire pits, pool, sauna, etc.), but the rooms were okay and room service was poor. The rooms are outdated a good bit and they don't have microwaves, which I figured every hotel does. The hotel has a COVID policy where they only do room service on request from the guest. We requested room service twice and never got it throughout a long stay. Kind of frustrating.

Ari S.

Yelp
My husband and I got engaged here in 2015 on my birthday and our entire stay at this place was just wonderful. They let us take my very well behaved corgi with us and she enjoyed it too! The beds were soft and comfortable, the room was so clean and so was the bathroom. The robes they provide are cozy and warm. They even helped my husband out and left a bouquet of roses he ordered ahead of time in our room. Room service was great too, as was the hot tub and pool. Our only complaint was that someone let a child have their own room next to ours and they left the TV blaring at 2 am--but that wasn't the Lodge's fault. Thanks for taking care of us so well Grouse Mountain Lodge!

Shawn H.

Yelp
Booked through Hotwire as a 3.5 star hotel on special without knowing the hotel. We we're given room 155, and I can tell you it doesn't even come close to 3.5 stars. The property may have the necessary amenities(indoor& outdoor pool, large bar, restaurant, free bikes, outside fire pit, conference rooms, etc)to be classified as such, but the room was very disappointing and to charge a resort fee is a joke. Upon arrival we were excited as the exterior is nice and represents something you expect from a lodge, the lobby was also inviting and well maintained, and the front desk staff was pleasant. The minute we walked into our room it was a rude awakening. The room was musty, drab, dreary, and dark. Furniture was beat up and the room though a good size, was devoid of any character. We tried to open the blinds and the opener fell off. The wifi was weak sauce(AT&T signal here is spotty as well, obviously not the hotels fault but makes weak wifi problematic). Also no outlets anywhere near the bed. The room was not quiet. The AC was louder than a Diesel engine and upstairs guests could be heard walking around due to creaky boards between the 1st and 2nd floors. The beds were comfortable and clean adorned with all white linens which was a rare plus. This "lodge" sports a solid location as it's a pleasant 1 mile walk to downtown Whitefish, and if you brought your golf clubs, there is a nice course next door. We also found the walk to city beach and the river walk very enjoyable. The room was not made up during our 2 night stay but I'll chalk that up to Covid guidelines along with all the things we were prewarned would not be in the room due to the pandemic. I would gladly stay in a 2 star motel before I'd ever stay at this lodge again.

Ryan S.

Yelp
We chose to stay at this hotel because it was called "mountain lodge," we thought we were getting a glacier park experience unlike any other with a Mountain View and everything alike. Turns out the hotel was in the outskirts of the city of whitefish with no scenery . Besides that the rooms and interior were top notch. The city of whitefish is walking distance and you could spend an entire day visiting all the shops and restaurants. I would stay here again knowing I would be using it just for sleeping.

JP L.

Yelp
Do not stay here. Can do much better for the $ in Whitefish. Place could be a really nice place to stay but is obviously very poorly run. Service is unfriendly at best. Seem really short staffed. They closed their restaurant for good just yesterday. Broken closet door they said they'd fix on our first night. Nobody ever came to fix. Had only a couple sheets of toilet paper in room when we got here. Have to go to front desk to get more. They gave us one roll. No housekeeping at all due to Covid. Trash in laundry room trash can overflowing for 2 days and nobody took it out. Walls paper thin. People moving in other rooms will shake your entire room. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else for your stay in Whitefish, I know I will on any return trips.

Eric O.

Yelp
This fine hotel was once a 4+ star hotel. The amenities are great, hot tub, pool, outdoor dinning, fire pit and restaurant/bar. Plus it sits next to one beautiful golf course However it is great need of an upgrade. . For example, the bathroom door did not close. You had to lift it up and push for it to close. The bathtub is really only a shower with all the safety tape on the bottom. Walls, furniture, and countertop are all marred and chipped. Additionally, I use a CPAP, good luck in finding an outlet close to the bed. And the TV well its one of smallest I have seen in an room for the price the charge. Thats the bottom line you pay at least 50-75% for a room. The upside is what I said above and the staff, competent and friendly.

Yelp
The only reason I didn't give it 5 Stars is the building is old and being on the ground level we heard quite a bit of walking above us. With that said... as a previous resident of Whitefish, Grouse Mountain Lodge was pretty much considered the "red headed step child" of The Lodge at Whitefish Lake. Previous to our stay at Grouse ML, I had always stayed at The Lodge at WF Lake - which is great but quite a bit more expensive. I have to say we will always choose to stay at Grouse Mountain Lodge for future visits. When we checked in I instantly recognized the front desk clerk. The GM is the same and those working in the restaurant have been there for many years. It's nice to see the same faces after so many years. The company must be doing something right to have this type of loyalty from their employees. Everyone here is friendly. Everyone. They have a wonderful restaurant/bar that is open late and has a wonderful menu for breakfast/lunch/dinner/apps. Their shuttle service to the Mountain and downtown runs through 2 AM and they make it too easy to get into town and back. Oh, and we were there for 5 nights and was stoked that laundry was only 50 cents a load. I did use their fitness center and it's well set up with TVs, water, sanitizers, etc. My only complaint is only 1 treadmill. The big bonus is they're located on the golf course. Summer time is awesome for Golf. Winter time we popped on our x-country skis and were on the trails outside our hotel room. Rates are great, Service is great and our room was updated and nice. A great place to stay when in Whitefish.

Yelp
Property is rustic and spacious. Corner room with a spectacular view. Employees are very nice. Shuttle operates until 2 am. Nice pool and the lounge is relaxing and cozy. Ice tea very smooth. Music and ambiance in the lounge is light with a great vibe and energy.

Yelp
If you make a reservation here you're not guaranteed a room or the room that you ask for. The front desk clerk at the time of November 20 did not have correct information, did not know what she was doing. I was very disappointed. I was in town for my grandson's birthday party was told I would have a connecting room with my daughter so the grandkids could go back-and-forth ---I was given a room down the hall very inconvenient when I specifically called to get a connecting room 3 weeks ago and again was told I would have a connecting room the day I checked in !!! so if you do decide to stay here double check - triple check everything

Yelp
This place badly needs updating. No housekeeping services, which we understand. But at least give adequate towels to get through a few days. When you run out of anything, you have to go get more at the desk. Every shower was in dirty undrained water past our ankles. We reported it every day. It eventually stopped draining at all and we had to get in the sludge to shower. Mold all over the bathroom. We gave up trying to eat here. Breakfast cart has hugely inflated prices and closes when it runs out of food. Coffee is gone by 730. We stocked up at Safeway so we wouldn't starve. You have to go to the computer room to use the ancient communal microwave to heat anything though. Very tiny tv and the thinnest walls ever. My bed jumped like someone was kicking it from underneath when people were walking in the next room. This could be a nice place with some work. It's definitely not worth $300 a night with taxes and resort fee. Wishing the best for the staff as one employee is working several doubles in a row and another employee hasn't had a day off in 21 days. (They weren't complaining - we asked because we saw them all the time)

Yelp
This hotel look quaint and cozy in the website but it's less than desirable for the money you pay. Bed was uncomfortable and if you are on the bottom floor you hear every single step above you. People in the room above me moved early every morning and stopped around all hours of the night. I asked multiple times for a room change and it was never granted. I left messages for the manager who never called back. Sophia was a pleasure and the coffee bar did custom make my breakfast sandwich. They charge for for an amenity fee that I knew nothing about. Not a fan of this hotel.

Yelp
My favorite place to stay in Whitefish! We love the nordic skiing right in front of the resort (get pass at nearby nordic center). The rooms are great and we had a view this time of the greenspace out front. We really like the location and the quiet setting. The food service is great and it is nice to be out of hustle and bustle of the town, but still be super close. Staff is friendly. This one gets an A+

Yelp
Stayed for breakfast on the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree Tour. Had the eggs with bacon, home fries and toast. Delicious! Especially enjoyed the bacon, which, I'm told, they bake instead of fry. It literally melts in your mouth.

Yelp
Very nice and clean hotel. The food at the restaurant was fantastic. But even more fantastic was their customer service. I left my Blutooth speaker in the room and send an inquiry mail to them if they found it. They promptly got back to me to let me know they located it. They sent it back to me in very smooth manner and it was very well packaged. Debbie Gartland was so helpful in the entire process and I really appreciate their service.

Yelp
We stopped in for a quick drink at the bar and walked around to check the lodge out. It is a nice looking resort and everyone we encountered was very friendly. We had a huckleberry martini that was tasty and a great price at happy hour. This was my first visit to Whitefish and I look forward to returning this year and trying out their food.

Yelp
One of the best winter vacations we ever had. The facility is marvelous, the staff is fantastic. The food in the restaurant is outstanding as is the bar. And the location can't be beat! We also appreciated the rides provided into town and back. One of the fun things was being in the hot tub while it was snowing! Can't wait until they re-open!

Yelp
Not worth the price! it is a long way (30 minutes) from Glacier entrance. Staff could use some training, I felt like I was bothering the lady at check in and then the concierge really encouraged us to take the free shuttle to the town claiming it was hard to find parking but there was plenty of free parking in the town and it was a Saturday night in August. Also there are no curtains in the rooms only old wooden shutters that let the light in. Other better options in town or closer to Glacier

Yelp
Nope.... not again.... could be worse but definitely should be better. In short, the carpet in the room made my feet greasy and when the morning light shone through the window, I realized why.... simple routine maintenance item that was ignored and in my opinion unacceptable. Traveled to the hotel from a Holiday Inn Express, left the hotel to stay at the Lodge at Whitefish Lake. Both of the other accommodations met the basic standards, one was slightly more plush but still feet should not be dirty from the rooms carpet. My wife is calling me the princess and the pea, but so be it, wash tour floors. Rest was good, staff could use a bit of cheering up, but all was suitable or better. Would stay again but only assuming something went wrong with just our room and nowhere else.

Yelp
This is not a resort. Not sure what classifies as a resort As you pay extra for a resort fee. The golf course does not belong to the "resort" even though it sits on the golf course. Small pool. Large hot tub. That's it. Rooms are big. Fridge and coffee maker in room. Not sure what the black things are in the bathroom. Also living drapes as shower curtain
