Visited at the start of April so still relatively quiet time for tourism , hence on 4 stars for atmosphere and for food as we only had a perfectly good breakfast. The hotel had a great location , just a stoned throw from the centre and cathedral with easy walk down to the coastal path. The hotel main areas were warm ( chilly out in the evening ) and the service was excellent, helpful and friendly. The room was above expectation. Well decorated, all the facilities expected, including armchairs and a very comfortable bed. ( room 9 ). Everything was spotlessly clean. The restaurant advertised a number of daily specials offers , usually a meal for about £14/15 including a drink. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for the perfect stay in St David's.

I can only imagine what this place was like 20 years ago, it feels a bit like Marston's are maybe doing the bare minimum here to keep it going. The walled garden space could be phenomenal, but is barely kept at the moment. The people here were all great, the beer selection was OK. But the missed potential of this place is crazy.

Staff were lovely, really nice people. We came at prime time on a Saturday so we were told that we had a 45 minute wait and hey were bang on. Came out right on time and staff were incredibly apologetic about it all. Quick service behind the bar with a lovely choice of drinks. Looking at the menu there were some amazing deals in the week. Would fully recommend, worth the walk up the road Lovely outside garden with a place for live music

Possibly the worst meal I've had in many years. The place was fairly quiet and although some of the tables had reserved signs on we found a table for two. The first thing we noticed was that the table was sticky as though it had been wiped with a greasy cloth. The menu was typical pub grub. I ordered the Steak and Ale pie and my wife had a Cheeseburger. The pie was undoubtedly a frozen one, the top crust looked OK but the rest of the pastry was soggy limp and uncooked probably warmed up in a microwave, the filling was just a lump of congealed gravy with some pieces of something possibly onions in but no hint of meat, horrible. My wife's burger was crusty black on the outside and almost raw in the middle and there was hair on the plate. Both meals were served with chips which were undoubtedly frozen, and there were peas with the pie. Overall quite disgusting. Never again 😝😝😝

A disappointing Sunday lunch. We visited looking forward to a roast dinner. We booked in advance and despite having two texts and two emails to remind us to turn up there was no table reserved. We ordered drinks and the meals at the bar - so were effectively our own server to some extent. The wait was 30 minutes - bearing in mind you are repeatedly reminded you only have the table for 90 minutes. The Yorkshire puddings were in fact crispy, flat discs, the whole meal was lukewarm and had been clearly sat under heat lamps for some time. The gravy was lumpy with big globs of gravy skin when poured, the broccoli had lost all colour having been over boiled, the carrots and stuffing were greasy, the roast potatoes were OK but not hot. Not sure what happened to the mashed potato - it had a weird sort of crust you had to break through ! The meat was mediocre and nothing really looked like the pictures ! As for the pig in blanket - it looked like the sausage had never seen heat and we did not eat it. The staff were OK but they just bring your food, nothing else. There was no atmosphere, it was not overly busy so no excuse for such a poor meal. We did raise a complaint and the young lady apologised and said that she would pass the comments onto the chef/kitchen staff.

Stopped over for one night. We telephoned before hand and spoke to Kara who allowed us to park our campervans in the carpark for the night. We ate from a great menu and listened to live music that evening. We had a brilliant value breakfast the next morning. The torn is a few minutes walk from the hotel- ideally situated. Lovely and quiet in the evening too. Thank you!

We were staying nearby in St. David's for 4 nights and visited this pub on 3 occasions. Each time we had a great experience. Enjoyed some drinks outside in the "secret garden", ate a delicious lunch one day, and stopped by to play some pool one evening. Nice people, great service!

Didn't eat there only spotted off for a pint so can't comment on the food but looking at the menu it appeared standard chain pub fare. Surroundings were comfortable but there weren't many there so no real atmosphere. The barman appeared to have gone missing when I arrived so had to wait a while to get a drink. Good selection of beers including real ales. I'll give the place the benefit of the doubt and give 4stars.

Yelp
This hotel is on the edge of St Davids as you start heading out towards Haverfordwest. It is opposite the fabulous Tourist Info Centre. There is a smallish car park to the side but if you are coming from the town it is a few hundred yards so you don't need the car. I can get very busy at times but it welcomes people from all walks of life. They didn't bat an eyelid at people coming in in walking gear or those who where dressed to the nines. There was a main menu, a summertime menu and a kids menu. There were some interesting items on the menu but most of it was fairly standard fare. We ordered a pizza for our daughter fromthe kids menu which was a very decent £2.99. It consisted of a 7 inch pizza, chips and beans. The pizza I would say was of the frozen variety rather than home-made but there was a generous portion of chips with it. My partner and I both ordered the curries. There were two on the menu, a medium to hot and a mild to medium. We had one of each. They were accompanied by boiled rice and chips and a small portion of mini poppadoms. My partner also got a little dish of mango chutney with his but I didn't, I don't know why. Both meals were absolutely delicious. We followed up with two knickerbocker glories and a clotted cream cheesecake. The cheesecake was fabulous but my daughter and I were disappointed with the knickerbocker glories. It said fresh fruit but the fruit was obviously of the tinned variety and a little bit too much of that too. I had a coffee which was delicious and my partner had a pint of Reverend James which he said was spot on. The prices were reasonable at £7.95 for the curries. The restaurant is in a conservatory type wing of the hotel and is very modern and clean with arty photos of local places and things on the wall. Enjoyed it so much that we went again a few nights later. Can't comment on the hotel facilities though as we weren't staying there.

Yelp
The bar and dinner areas were immaculate, with some nice comfy sofas to chill out on. Certainly not rustic but there was a clean, modern feel to the place. We frequented the bar a few times as the drinks were reasonably priced. I had a few meals here and I would put them a notch above the standard pub chain offerings. Portions were fair but you could tell sauces were straight out of a packet. The burgers are worth a punt though as they are sourced locally using the excellent welsh beef. On the whole I cannot be too critical as the price for a meal was perfectly reasonable and service was friendly. There arent many lunch time eateries in St David's so you should be on to a winner. Whatever you do dont be lazy and opt for the Dyfed Fish and Chip Bar further into the city as I had the worst meal I have ever had in my life there. I cannot comment on the hotel rooms as I was not a resident.

Yelp
This is a lovely hoten on the edge of St. Davids. It really is the first building you come to as you enter Britains smallest city. The food was very good and the service as well. Even though it was busy you were not ignored.
