"Bed, breakfast, Bath. It’s not just a checklist of the minimal requirements for a hotel stay. It’s also a handy description of Grove Lodge, an actual bed & breakfast in Bath, the spa town in the English countryside, best known to some as the setting for a couple of Jane Austen novels, not to mention the author’s actual place of residence from 1801 to 1806. In Austen’s day, travelers came to Bath to “take the waters,” sip tea, and stroll the postcard-perfect streets. And they still do today: the city is almost as famous for its Georgian architecture as it is for its 2,000-year old thermal spa built by the ancient Romans." - Tablet Hotels
We stayed as a family - myself, my partner, and our two children—and were thoroughly impressed. The family room was spacious, well-equipped, and spotlessly clean. The location was ideal, with easy access to all nearby amenities.
Breakfast was excellent, offering a great selection and friendly service throughout. We felt genuinely welcomed from start to finish.
Highly recommend, and we’d happily stay again.

We had a family room at the front of the building. The room was compact for two singles and a double bed but workable and clean.
The ensuite door was a little restricted by the beds but plenty of room around the wardrobe.
Generally in good repair but showing its age in places.
Breakfast was an order the night before approach. Not a great deal of expense spent on the components of the breakfast but there was plenty and we were offered more if we wanted it.
Our host was nice and chatty on our last day.

Lovely bed and breakfast, self check in works well and being able to check in at 11am was great as we arrived early on the train. Room was clean and big and had everything we needed, was perfect for us, loads of coffee in the room. The mattress is dead and you feel the springs in your back, just needs replaced, that's all, everything else was great. Nice breakfast, perfect potion size and our table was by the window, which was lovely.

The guest house was clean but lacked updating and decorating.|The bed was uncomfortable and lumpy. The bathroom was the worst. Rusty loo roll holder. The under sink cupboard needed replacing, very worn. Tacky wash your hands sign stuck above the basin like a public toilet. Breakfast was adequate but sausages tasted cheap.
