Gruta de Santo Antônio

Great Portuguese food in Niteroi! It was hard to order from the menu as there was so many tempting dishes to choose from! We ended up having some Bolinhos de Bacalhau, Polvo na Brassa, Bacalhau com Natas, and Caldeirada de Frutos do Mar which were all excellent. It is also worth mentioning the lovely atmosphere and kind service we received from the waiters who tended our table. Overall, Gruta de Santo Antonio is a wonderful restaurant to visit when you're in the area.

Expensive but not special. I am not a great fan of bacalhau - salted cod Norwegian style, which was popularized in Brazil by the Portuguese. People that like it may find the restaurant great, but I was mostly indifferent to the different styles of bacalhau we ordered - even the bolinho, a snack sized fried ball of bacalhau and potatoes, was nothing special. Not bad, but I am not returning.

Very good. The environment is like your dining at a house with lots of tables. Food is very good, with very generous amounts. But it's quite expensive. Not somewhere to go everyday. Better phone in advance to check if there's available places. Free wi-fi. Ask for the password at the counter. Terrible place to park, but there's a parking lot just passed the restaurant, on the right hand side. I'm not sure if the parking lot is opened on weekends, but it must be.

Wonderful cod fish and other traditional Portuguese dishes. Fair prices. Best in town!

Probably one of the best restaurant in Niteroi. You can eat here a traditional Portuguese food. Price are a bit high
