Our Year-Round Guide to the Dolomites, Host of the Winter Olympics | Condé Nast Traveler

"“This is my favorite rifugio. It’s on the Adolf Munkel Trail and sits below the Geisler (Odle) peaks in Val di Funes. I always have a plate of fried eggs, bacon, and roasted potatoes. For me, that’s the ultimate mountaineer’s meal. It fills you with energy after a long ascent.”" - Adam H. Graham

Wonderful Refugio with great food for very reasonable prices (especially for the Dolomites) and a fantastic view of the Ogle Mountains. Only recommendation would be to add QR codes at the tables where guests could read the menu and order online, so that the personnel can focus on food preparation and delivery.

Great place to take a rest from hiking and enjoy a drink and a meal. The views can’t be beat. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were a ton of people there so finding a table took a little while. Food was really good although they were out of a few things. I think we were there around 13:00

A great spot to take a break during the hike where you can drink a beer and eat something to regain your power. The view is absolutely stunning.

What an amazing place! Kitchen opened at 11 on Sunday. We tried their hearty south tyrolian beef goulash and polenta for the first time. A bit salty but probably needed after a long hike. Portions are generous! Vegetable soup was very well made. We tried Kaiserschmarrn (a shredded pancake with a texture a bit different than typical pancakes- probably mixed with egg)- dusted with sugar and served with cranberry/apple sauce for dessert- it was so good! Views are stunning of the Odle/ Geisler peaks.

The food was tasty, but a bit oversalted. However, the ricotta cheesecake was simply divine!

Nice restaurant to eat with a beautiful view of Val Di Funes. Tasty goulash and yummy roasted potatoes.

Delicious food and seemed like a great family owned business. At one point, the cook (grandfather?) came out and played the accordion for everyone. Amazing hot chocolate!

One of the best places we’ve been to in Italy. The best veal steak I’ve ever had in my life. Portion size was perfect, one of if not the best food presentation since we’ve landed in Italy 2 weeks ago. Staff was nice and friendly. We arrived at noon and it was packed, seating and serving took a bit of time but it was worth the wait. Great view outside, quite popular spot but price was reasonable. Highly recommended!
