I wanted to give this 3 stars, but I will say that it is a good RIDE, if you can ever get to it.
There are two huge things holding Cosmic Rewind back:
1. Virtual Queue. As god as my witness, and I swear on my daughters eyes, when I tried to join the morning virtual queue, it sold out in LITERALLY, and I mean L.I.T.E.R.A.L.L.Y. TWO SECONDS. 7:00:00am the virtual queue opened, and 7:00:02, it was filled. At 7 on the dot, I clicked refresh, saw "join virtual queue," and by the time I clicked the button, it was full. Insane.
By some miracle of Shiva, I was able to get a spot on the 1pm virtual queue, but didn't get to board until almost 3 hours later. Then, after finally getting the call to board, we ran into the next knock: the FLUFF! DEAR GOD.....There is so much pre ride crap. GotG is the NUMBER 1 OFFENDER of the "watch this while we wait to board you" problem at WDW. (Mickey's Runaway Rail being #2) The stuff before getting on the ride is just WAAAAAAY too long, and they try to be cute and witty, but I'd rather just get to the ride thanks. I know they have to set up the story a little bit, but they could have cut out 60% of the pre ride theatrics and got the same point across. I completely get that they use this time to push the people ahead through, but I do NOT understand why they have you waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait, then watch a 10 minute video, just to WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIT again! What were yall doing for that 10 minutes?!?! You should go straight from the video to the ride. It's annoying.
The ride itself is actually amazing, and incredibly smooth. I'm not one of those 80s/90's nostalgia suckers, so the music doesn't do anything for me, but I heard that that is a big selling point for people. Guardians could easily be the best ride in all of Disney if not for the virtual queue and obscene wait times and pre ride fluff.
