This is a small B&B of only 6 rooms that occupies the upper part of a historic building in Trastevere, next to the river. It has been in the owners' family for centuries, and is convenient to many attractions, as well as local eateries and bars. This part of Trastevere remains largely residential and reasonably quiet.|There are several flights of stairs to get to to reception, and more stairs once inside, so it's not for travellers with mobility issues.|Our room was to the rear of the property with low-ish ceiling and beams. It was a triple (we were a couple), so there was a lot of furniture - but it was reasonably spacious, cosy and quiet. The bathroom had separate bath and shower, and while generally clean it was showing signs of the busy Jubilee year and needed attention, including removing a few patches of black mould. Our room didn't benefit from pleasant external views, and the outlook from the bathroom to other residences would have been enhanced by freshening the flower boxes outside the window.|Breakfast was good - boiled eggs, fruit, yoghurt, breads, homemade spreads, cheese, etc - all served in a pleasant period dining room, providing opportunity to engage with others. There's a small reception/sitting area near the entrance.|We appreciated conversations with, and advice from, owners Marco and Gianne - they know their neighbourhood, and Rome, inside-out. The manager George was also friendly and helpful.|This was a memorable stay in genuinely heritage accommodation.
