We had such a lovely 3-night stay. We interacted with 3-4 different hotel staff members prior to and during our visit - all were incredibly kind and very helpful! They respond quickly to email to answer any questions, recommendation, reservation requests and more. Their service is really exceptional and a highlight of this hotel. We were welcomed with water, snacks and a map while they explained the city and directions to orient our visit. They even provided a recommendation for pastel de nata at a placed called Castro - which had the best pastel de nata of our entire Portugal vacation!
We stayed in room 401 without a river view, and had a great accommodation with elevator access. Everything super clean each day and the beds are comfy. Even though you are right by the river and it can be loud outside, we didn’t hear a thing inside! We were provided with water bottles upon request as needed each day.
The included breakfast was fabulous - all fresh fruit from the Bolhao market with many options from fresh cooked eggs made to order, yogurt/granola bowls, croissants, fresh juice of the day, and more.
Know that because this hotel is by the river, it is at the bottom of a steep hill, so for those who like to be by the river, that may not be an issue and would be a good location. For us, all our destinations were at the top of the hill. However, the staff are super helpful in booking a taxi if needed, like we did to get to the train station with our luggage, and the taxi pulled up right outside the hotel. Also note that there is a call button / doorbell to ring when you arrive - they are quick to respond, but it took us a few minutes to see the button and know what to do. 😅
