Guest House Miyakojima

I stayed here for 8 nights and it is a fantastic accommodation. You are close to one of the best beaches on the island, and the accommodation is cozy and comfortable. It reminds me of visiting my grandparents' house a bit as it is very clean and well maintained and has a feeling of home. The kitchen area is renovated, and rooms have ac and fans. The owners are very accommodating and can help you enjoy miyakojima. There are bikes and scooters available to rent as well as car rental help, all of which I recommend as miyakojima is a fairly big place to explore. For the value, this place can not be beat, and I hope to return again to enjoy miyakojima. I had an excellent experience and would recommend this place.

Cozy guesthouse with a relaxed atmosphere run by two very friendly owners. It's located in a quiet area with a lot of fields, a short distance from the famous Yonaha Maehama beach. It is recommended to rent a bicycle to explore the surroundings and a car if you want to see the many beautiful spots of Miyakojima; both can be available upon request to the owners. The possibility of using a well-maintained kitchen and a washing machine (this one for a small fee) are definitely a plus. Not to mention the silence at night to benefit your sleep. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Miyakojima is a wonderfully relaxed island and Miyakojima Guesthouse the perfect place to start your explorations. It's conventiently close to a great beach, offers very reasonably priced bicycles and scooters for the duration of your stay as well as airport transfer and has a fully equipped kitchen for your use. Most of all, it feels more like a home than a hostel.|When I arrived at the island, the owner picked me up at the aiport with his van, drove me to the guest house and had the very reliable Honda scooter ready for my tours around the island. You have to be careful though as many gas stations close early in the evenings except in the main town Hirara. I definitely recommend touring on a scooter as you can take in different small coves and bigger beaches for snorkeling every day, including on the adjacent smaller islands linked by bridges.|Though I was staying at the "dorm", there was only one bunk-bed in the room so it did not feel crowded at all. The living room kitchen is large enough to accommodate everyone with a comfy sofa, drinks including draft beer available again at reasonable prices. There's also a nice patio you can sit in, enough clothes lines to dry your beach stuff and a water basin and hose to clean off when getting back.|The owners, Meg and Shu, are avid kite-surfers and there are all kinds of pictures of events, including the famous Miyakojima triathlon. If you are more into an active holiday, you are certainly in the right spot. Most of all though, it's a friendly home away from home where you can relax in an island atmosphere and enjoy the conversation with your hosts and fellow travelers.

Nice little hostel on a nice little island. The owners live in the house and have renovated it to host more people. They were very helpful and speak good English. They also helped us to organize renting a car at a really good rate, which is essential for anyone visiting the island. The facilities are fairly basic, but always clean. The hostel is located in a quiet part of the island, but there's not much going on in the main area of Hirara anyways. It's also really close to Yonaha beach, which is great.

From the outside it looks questionable, but that's just it. Inside you have a lovely place to stay with a lot of extras. They have all kind of equipment for the rent. Bike's, diving equipment, windsurfing and so much more. It's cheap, clean and close to the beach. The only downside is, not many restaurants or shopping options are nearby. Many of them close very early as well. But that's not the fault of the owners.

The owner couple are both incredible kiters that know everything kiters need!!! I stayed in the dorm bed and my friend stayed in the single room. We were both amazed by how details they care about.And yes, we really enjoyed our stay in here. Best choice ever! Can't wait to be back soon!!!

The host were very welcoming and helpful. They had lots of information about the island to share and having the bike rentals for free was a big bonus. The location was perfect, not too far from the city.
