Would rate 1.5 if could. Changed rooms because the bed springs were so uncomfortable in the first, second is mediocre but uncomfortable. Only get WiFi in the main lobby. Breakfast starts at 8. Bathroom cleanliness is OK but lacks the small things that most hostels just have, like hand soap. Must take off shoes to get to room but have 1 pair of communal flip flops for the bathroom that always seem to be wet. On second look photos are realistic but had a better perception of the photos when booking vs in person. Budget room for budget price. Location is good and front desk guy seems nice.

Okay price and good location however there are better hostels close by which are worth paying slightly more for. I stayed in the dorm room, the AC worked well however the room was very small and very damp. The wifi was good when in the lobby but did not reach the room. Coffee and cold water available throughout the day. The biggest problem is the number of mosquitioes everywhere throughout the hostel.

Stayed here 1 night. Guy on reception was really nice and helpful. Showed us around and explained that breakfast was bread and jam (well left early so can't comment further).|Room was clean and didn't have a window so no mozzie. Lots of them in the bathrooms. Also downstairs in the communal area (which is the only place to get WiFi).|Great location, easy walk to most of the city and good for ferry also. |I'd stay here again for a 1-nighter, but would probably pay the extra and stay somewhere else for any longer.

The location of this hostel is perfect, but thats about it.||||The room is dirty and there are a lot of bugs, the owner didn't take us seriously when we complained about this. The bed is old and very uncomfortable. When it rains, the walls get wet. You can hear everything when someone moves on the upper floor. ||The showers are worse, not clean and a lot of insects.

Upon checking in my friend and I had to wake up the owner who appeared rather angered by us waking him. He took us to a room and told us that only one of the showers had hot water, which i can't confirm due to the condition of the showerroom I chose not to use it. In addition the door was missing for one of the toilets and the other had no toliet seat. Whilst walking to the room we noticed that there was mold all over the hallway this mold was also present in our room and the whole room smelled of damp which was not helped by the leaking air conditioning unit. So overall a terrible experience and we left the next day forfeiting the other night which we had paid for.

The owner was lovely and let us check in at 7am after a long bus ride. We stayed in the double room, the air con was ridiculously cold even on 30 degrees. The next morning our mattress cover came off and I saw a live bed bug. I inspected the mattress and it was evident that the bed bugs had been there a while because the mattress was black in lots of places. I told the guy at reception and he told me to cancel my Agoda booking (which I can't do cos it charges me the full price anyway) and he said there were no rooms to move to and I should email agoda saying that there were no rooms when I arrived in order to get a refund. Overall not too impressed and looks like the bedbugs have been an ongoing problem. Inspect your bed before you stay a night here!

Rooms are very average, fairly gross mattress but location is good. Very overpriced for what you get. Better off getting a hostel or another hotel and getting an uber for about 3 RM to Lovelace road where the food/ drinks are.

I stay at Guest Inn Muntri for its strategic location. Near good Chinese food places like Tek Sen (Carnarvon Street), Tai Tong (corner Cintra Street/Campbell), Tho Yuen (Campbell Street), etc. Walking distance to Chinese temples at the Kapitan Keling area (thru Stewart Lane); many eateries at Jalan Pinang area. Chulia Street is also a short walk away, where you can see many antique shops, boutique hotels, etc. ||This hostel is reasonably priced and has dorm rooms as well as rooms with attached bathrooms. If there is an issue (like bed bugs), speak to boss Mr Ooi, who will change your rooms and perhaps give a discount. Breakfast? Go for tim sum, thosai, wan tan mee and many other local dishes! The whole heritage area is within walking distance!
