Guesthouse 1x6

My wife and I booked this amazing guesthouse on the first night of our long awaited honeymoon and we could not have been more pleased. The little details were what impressed us the most from the restaurant recommendations, wonderful wildflower greeting bouquet to the delicious home made breakfast all made our stay memorable. Highly recommend!

Andy, the owner, is the quintessential pleasant host (as warm as the tub in the yard which we used the night of our arrival: heavenly...). Andy 'complained' Dutch people generally don't give 5 stars - which he and Yuki fully deserve! In German there is no problem: a 1 is the highest mark and he deserves 6 of those - in other words: 1 x 6. Just 10 minutes from the airport (other guests were picked up by Andy) and a few minutes walk from a nice Italian restaurant. When making a stopover in Iceland for just a few days I would recommend not even going to Reykjavik but starting & ending the trip at 1 x 6. in between you can visit the natural wonders of the island.

We needed to stay here one night due to a last minute flight change. I am so happy that there was a room available because it ended up being the perfect start to our trip! The guest house was so charming and comfortable, and the homemade food (and chocolates we were greeted with) was an added bonus!

Best guesthouse we have ever stayed in. The owners are very warm, caring and welcoming. The place is filled with art from different artists which give the place of charm. We had access to the hot bath outside with natural water. We only stayed for a night but I wish we could've stayed longer. We also tried the coffee which was delicious. The mattresses and sheets were high quality and we had a very good night's sleep. Everything was very clean.

We had an early flight the next day and wanted a nice place to stay with a bit of character. We found it at 1x6. Andy and Yuki were very friendly as were the other guests. We shared our Icelandic experiences in the thermal pool in the garden before going in our separate ways.|The airport is about 5 minutes drive from the guesthouse and it's definitely worth arranging a lift or collection from Andy. Just even for the chat in the van and the welcome coffee to wake us up !!!

You don't want to miss this spot to stay in Keflavik. The hosts are incredibly friendly and have such a beautiful guesthouse complete with a lovely soaking tub. The art inside completed by locals and visiting artists alike is stunning. Could not recommend a better stay and wish we could have stayed longer. Also loved meeting the kitties.

We booked this place last minute, and couldn’t be happier with our stay 🥹 Thank you Andi and Yuki for the warm hospitality, cozy room, adorable cat, and amazing coffee! We truly loved it here and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Keflavik!

I must start this review by saying, I don't often review my stays. But in this case I must make an acceptation. My Wife and I plus our 10 year old Granddaughter have just stayed for one night at 1x6. In summary, our stay was Outstanding. We were welcomed with coffee and hot chocolate on arrival by Andi and Yuki who had already messaged us earlier in the day to see if we wanted the hot tub readying for that evening! We stayed in a beautiful room decorated in the same style as the rest of the property. Check out their website and you will see what it looks like! Later in the evening we all pilled into the Pool which was fantastic. After a busy day travelling we were all in bed by 9 PM, but had arranged to be woken up if the Northern Lights came out. Sure enough, at about 11 PM there was a knock on the door by Yuki and out we went to take a look at the display! Breakfast the following morning was brilliant. Highly reccommended.
