The staff were really friendly and helpful. They tried their best to communicate with me by Google translate. The location might be challenging for you to carry a luggage to Rovaniemi station in the winter. Luckily, the supermarket market is quite near. The room was totally fine to have a safe and quiet space to sleep well. By the way, they did not provide luggage keeping for before and after check-in.

This is a super nice little guesthouse. Breakfast is fantastic, staff is very nice and helpful. The common kitchen has everything you need to make tea or put your food in the fridge. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is a constant hot water issue. This was especially in the evenings. One evening there was no hot water at all; I let the water run for nearly 10 mins! It was ice cold! Two other evenings there was only lukewarm water. When showering in the mornings, hot water quickly turned ice cold. Then you had to shut it off for a moment and turn back on; and repeat; and repeat; etc. This made it impossible to get shampoo and conditioner out of your hair quickly. The hot water issue needs to be fixed! The situation is impossible in the winter!

It was a suitable place to stay to experience the Northern Lights tours in Rovaniemi. The location is just a few minutes walk from the train station. The airport shuttle can be accessed by this property. Plenty of taxis ply around too. ||I liked the fact that my tour operator for Northern Lights tour picked me up from here. This hotel was the cheapest I could find in Rovaniemi in a busy season. The rooms are small with a small bed. It was enough space for one person. It has a small bathroom and shower. The heating was a little on the colder side. ||There is parking for rental cars in the back and breakfast came with the room and it was sufficient. The owner is also the reception and was pretty helpful.||If you come outside of the reception times, the keys are left in a post box, It takes a little bit of jiggling of the keys to get them working.

We stayed 1 night before our departure from Rovaniemi. Lovely accommodation and very well priced. Quiet and clean, lovely breakfast, plenty of towels and beds very comfortable. We had a room with a balcony, it was very cold outside and room was lovely and warm Near to railway station, staff very friendly. Supermarkets close by with a nice pizza place called Koti pizza nearby. I would without hesitation return.

Truly a disappointing stay at this accommodation during December 2024, hot water working every other day, cold & dirty room, non working bedside lamp, non existent housekeeping (I stayed for 7 days and 6 nights nobody changed my towels once, or emptied my trash once), nobody at the desk between 1-6pm and at night, overall lack of any sort of customer service, really rude owner - this was the most overpriced and terrible "hotel" and I would not recommend anyone to stay there. Spend a bit more and stay at Scandic instead.

My room was very clean and functional. You have to borrow a hairdryer. Staff friendly, breakfast good. Only wifi was not ideal in my room at the end of the hall. The location is great. Behind the building there is a path to the train station (150 m). What you can't find on Google Maps: there is a cheap public bus line to the center in front of the door, line 4. Download the app. At the train station just take line 8 and for 4€ you get to Santa Claus Village. Instead of taking expensive private buses.

The hotel was in a very good location. The staff was extremely polite and helpful. Unfortunately, the water was always lukewarm to cold. Even the lukewarm water wasn’t enough to rinse off properly.

Yelp
Guesthouse Borealis is conveniently located and just about 10 minutes from both train and bus station. Bus number 8, heading for Santa Claus Village, stops almost around the corner. Walking to the city centre takes a bit more time, but is easily manageable as well. The reception closes at 10 pm, so make sure to mail them if you are arriving late. In front of the entrance door, you will then find an envelope in the black letterbox with the key and a welcoming letter with further information. So far, so good, ... So why just 3 stars? When I entered the room, I knew within a second that I would not enjoy a good nights rest and I should be right. Some nerve-racking noise was coming from the AC in the ceiling right.above.my.bed! It sounded like a storm in the distance. So annoying and no switch to turn it off! The room itself was clean, but very basic with little space to move. Breakfast next morning - always 7.30 to 10 - was basic as well, but tasted very good. But all in all, I am sad to say that 53 € per night are way to much for accommodation of that kind. I even had to find out that other rooms are really nicely decorated and very appealing. Why not all rooms? The lady running this place was nice and pleasant, but did not do anything to recompensate me for my sleepless night. At least, she switched off the AC on my second night and I could sleep deeply and soundly. I came across that kind of AC again and again while travelling Finland, so it seems to be quite common, but at other places it used to be in the bathroom and not that loud. On the one hand, it might be true that the guesthouse cannot do much about it, but I was really glad not to have this storm sound machine one more time above my head at night.
