We stayed for two nights at the Guesthouse Hof. This place could be a pure goldmine with some work. It has a lot of potential. Great location. Beautiful views. The rooms could use a good updating. We arrived a couple hours after check in started. There were 4 of us in our party, the room slept 6. When we arrived to our room there were only 2 duvets, 2 pillows and 3 bath towels. Luckily the office was still open and we were able to get the items we needed for a comfortable night of sleep. The next day we noticed as we headed out that the locked toilet paper holder was almost empty, we had to rush back that evening before the office closed to make sure we were able to get it refilled. The hot tub was great. The views were incredible.

Beautiful views. Lovely beach. Cosy and large units. Excellent service.

We loved our stay here! The cottage itself is fairly rustic, could probably do with a bit of modernising. However the location and private hot tub more than make up for this! Great views of the sea, with an easy walk down to a lovely beach. Plenty of space for our family of 5 and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend!

After a full day program of hiking and waterfalls we arrived to Guesthouse Hof beaten and looking for relief. After a quick check-in we got into the apartment along the long row and found a hot tub in the porch for some relaxation. The apartment was spacious but pretty old, in need of remodeling and upgrade. 2 big bedrooms, a huge living/dining that has table and seats for 18 people and a big commercial like kitchen with dish washer and oven. But they are dated; dining chairs with holes in the seats, big antique TV that turns on but has no connection(well, it does have a TV), tiny bathroom that needs more lighting as we were practically showering in the dark as the only light was in the wash basin area and many ceiling lights were blown that needs to be replaced making the apartment very dark. Be warned that there are not many eateries around the area and even if so was told the nearest being the golf club next door serves expensive meals and closes early. So be prepared with your grocery and cook in the apartment's huge kitchen. Oh, shed 7 is like a shared area where one can cook, eat in there and use whatever one can find in the kitchen where any leftover food from previous occupants are kept to add to your meal. Took a cold morning stroll along the beachfront to nearby Ytri Tunga to get some seal watching action. An enjoyable stay but needs attention to stay relevant.

My husband and I stayed at Guesthouse Hof on our recent trip to Iceland and had a lovely stay. ||||We arrived on a stormy afternoon. We were quickly checked in and directed to our cabin, which was at the end of the resort, closest to the ocean view. We were able to park right outside our cabin door.||||The cabins were adorable! The log-style with the turf roofs felt so fitting for the landscape. The cabin was clean and well-kept. Our host had prepared tea for us, which was so appreciated since it was so windy and stormy outside! ||||The queen bed was very comfortable. The temperature was comfortable. We opened the windows a bit before going to sleep and they were a bit difficult to close but we were able to get them to closed. The bathroom was a little lacking in the number of hooks so we had to hang our toiletries on a hook outside the door.||||We paid $111.74 for our stay, which was very reasonable for the accommodations. We would definitely stay here again in the future!

If I could give negative stars, I would. This place is completely derelict with very rude, unprofessional proprietors. Our shower had such a terrible leak, the entire bathroom flooded. The desk attendant (the only nice person on the property) cleaned up & brought the owner to fix the leak. It didn't work, so they came back again, promising it was resolved. A very quick shower and the floor is again flooded. At this point, its after 9pm, we went back to registration to ask for a refund. The owner agrued with us, saying we were lying and we could not get our money back. He was rude, argumentative, and extremely unprofessional. This is the worst experience of any hotel, hostel, vrbo, etc. Avoid this calamity of a guest house at all costs.

We liked the cute cabin with grass on the roof. It was very clean. It is family run and the staff is very friendly and helpful. There was a big breakfast with all the typical things you get with an Islandic breakfast. A shared kitchen is available. Beautiful views from the property.

Loved our stay here! Ocean view in our own private little cabin. Space was a little tight with two people moving about but you can tell that the owner put a lot of thought into the space with the storage options she provided. Breakfast was good. There is a shared kitchen facility for guests that could use a deep cleaning (food left behind that is old/outdated/stale) but we were very thankful that pots/pans and utensils were provided for use.
