"A tiny, four-suite inn in Old Mandeville where each suite has a private entrance and bright, airy rooms; the front porch invites leisurely afternoons and the property sits just one block from Lake Pontchartrain and within easy walking distance of downtown boutiques, restaurants, and the Tammany Trace trail." - Amanda Ogle

I am so glad that we found this place for our Thanksgiving visit with Mandeville family. We stayed in the Constance room. It was smaller than a typical hotel room but sufficient space for our short visit. The room was super clean and nicely appointed with soft sheets (would like to know what brand?), a coffee station, mini-fridge and microwave. Parking was easy and the location was within walking distance to multiple restaurants and bars but we did not hear any noise. The managers were very prompt when we requested to move our reservation by one day as our plans changed. We will return - we visit family a couple of times each year and sometimes want to make our visit a vacation rather than just a visit so being able to enjoy all that Mandeville offers is a bonus. So glad that that there was a late cancellation and we found the Guesthouse on Girod.

We LOVE this place! One of the best things about it is its location. We walked to every restaurant we ate at over the weekend, plus cute shops… and the beautiful lake! It was clean and well appointed. Small, but clever use of space. We will definitely be back, hoping to reserve larger portions of the house for the rest of our family!

I've stayed at this guesthouse twice now and it just keeps getting better. Mandeville one of the best hidden gems in the south, and I haven't found a better place to stay than the Guesthouse in Girod. It really has the best vibes. The spaces are so well styled but still inviting and cozy. We felt so relaxed here, and I can't wait for our next visit.

A lovely out of the way place in a quaint little town. The furnishings are beautiful but most of all comfortable. Walking around Lake Ponchotrain is a great way to unwind after a long day of work or travel. Restaurants are in walking distance. Great getaway spot to relax.

Perfect location! Located in historic Old Mandeville, the Guesthouse is in the perfect location…only one block from the lakefront, and nestled among restaurants and quaint shops. Directly across the cobblestone street from the original “Broken Egg Cafe” (now La Lou) which is a MUST for breakfast or brunch. ||Two of the suites have private courtyard entrances. Courtyards are beautifully landscaped with a magical ambiance. Beds are super comfy! ||Don’t forget stunning sunsets on the lakefront!|| Host is quick to respond and very friendly. I highly recommend The Guesthouse on Girod.

The rooms are beautiful, the garden area is a delight, and the front porch is peaceful yet entertaining. Lake Pontchartrain is a short one block walk from The Guesthouse, and there is so much to do in the neighborhood! The owners are pleasantly accommodating

The best rental in Mandeville! You can’t beat the location! The hosts have thought of everything to make your stay top notch. The pillows and sheets felt like I was sleeping on clouds. Also loved the decor, traditional with a modern feel. Can’t wait to plan another trip here!
