I stayed at Piedra Marron for a two week Christmas holiday recently (December 2019 to Jan 2020). Really enjoyed the convenient location (close to the beach, shops and restaurants) and comfortable set up of the studio that I stayed in which has a kitchen and air conditioning. Hotel was very clean. Inn keeper Vita and Vito were very friendly and helpful. Because it is located so centrally, there are so road noises but all things considered, it was a very pleasant stay and excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend.

My girlfriend and I stayed for 3 nights over the Christmas Holiday and found it to be very nice if basic accomodation. The room was just big enough, the bathroom ws very nice and there was a bar fridge as well. The TV was mounted near the ceiling and there was no remote and not flat screen either so if that matters to you...keep it moving.||||It was clean and daily cleaning was available. The towels ere changed daily as was the bedding.||||The free wifi was very fast and strong.||||The grounds were very nice, lots of trees, plants and grass and well maintained. the front gate was secure at the street and there were many security cameras.||||The location was decent enough, close to be able to walk to the beach, restaurants and shops.||||The cost was very good considering the season and the prices of other hotels.||||There are far more expensive and luxurious hotels to be found but for what we were looking for and for our budget this was just right. ||||The management was approachable but also left us alone. If they were wanted they were available but otherwise they did not interfere. They did offer assistance with transportation options and in finding good restaurants.||||Overall I'd give it a 3.5, but considering the overall cost vs the competition and considering high season I will rate it a 5.

I have stayed at Piedra Marron for a night, a week and even for a month or two at a time. The owners are great and have always treated me with care and concern. The staff are helpful and completely trustworthy.||||When it rains heavy, the owner has messaged me to see that all is well. If I leave for a few days they check on me via text to see that everything is ok. When I was in a motorcycle accident they found me a doctor and helped coordinate my care like I was family.||||I’ve lived on this island on and off for the last two years and I have found that confidence and trust is the truest and best currency that you can have here; both will be found at Piedra Marron.||||Aside from all of this, the price is excellent, the place is clean and the owners have been adding more conveniences, like coffee service and beer to purchase. With the amenities that they have, the easy-to-enter gated access and the proximity to the beach and local stores, I feel that it’s more than worth the money.

Shakira the hotel manager is very helpful. The same goes for vito, the owner. He even drove us himself to the bus terminus

Owner was very accommodating. Hot water, WiFi, and parking included. No AC, however, there's a nice breeze and ceiling fans right over the bed, which I had no issue with. Small fridge is included. The windows have coverings that prevent mosquitoes and bugs from entering the room. Very comfortable sleep. The hotel is close to the beach, restaurants, and tourist area, which is about a 2 min walk or so away. If you're looking for someone to simply crash for the night, as I was, you're golden here.

I absolutely loved the place. It has great air conditioning, clean as a whistle and the areas are very lovely and clean. Great hospitality by the owner and very good and clean areas. It is in the center of town and it’s within walking distance from the beach and the places to eat. Best place guaranteed.

Nice budget hotel in Las Terrenas, 10 minute walk to the beach. Situated on the main road that makes a figure 8 going to the beach from the main highway. Easy to find, and has a fenced, gated parking area. However, with proximity to the road you will hear the "motos" buzzing along the road at all hours. I was fortunate enough to get one of the 2 air-conditioned rooms at $40/night. .. worth it because I could close off the wooden shutters (no glass windows) and block some of the noise out. The room was comfortable... included a small fridge, cooktop, flat screen TV (with grainy analog channels) and a shower with adequate pressure and real hot water.
