Guesthouse Skálafell

The room was very clean and cozy. Room had a heater and was warm enough. Beautiful mountain view. Breakfast was nice (had toast, cereal, ham, vegetables, coffee, etc.). Would stay again. Location is great for a stop on your way around Iceland.

First, pets and animals roam everywhere (guesthouses, restaurants, parking lots of restaurants, etc.) in Iceland so please prioritize safety. With that said, the guesthouse dog is absolutely wonderful. Very friendly. Please be careful when driving. The host and the workers are great and responsive. The rooms are very nice for what you need (twin bed, WiFi, clean bathroom, drying rack, heater). The breakfast is very refreshing too. I had a good time and would recommend this place for anyone traveling.

I booked 2 rooms in this guesthouse for people in my travelling group, but one couple could not come because mother died. I tried to negotiate refund for them, explaining the situation, but did not get any answer. I know for sure the owner read it and managed to rent the other room our, making double profit. Although they have no obligation to make a refund, in my 20 years of organizing travel in Iceland we have always got at least a partial refund. In any case it would be elementary to answer your clients and explain why would you not refund, especially if you rent the room out again.

We stayed one night. Room and bathroom were a good size. It was quiet and had annice view of the water and farm. There is a resident dog which was super friendly and loved pets. There is a small breakfast buffet with limited options for food but enough to get the day started. Room was clean and simple. It was close to our super jeep tour the next day just a few kilometers down the road.

The setting,scenery is beautiful,the service friendly and the breakfasts are lovely. The rooms are basic and could do with a bit of modernisation. I'd suggest keep it basic and clean and get rid of the trinkets hung up and the fake flower in vase in the room as it doesnt add anything and looks old and tired. The rooms are very clean and the beds very comfortable.

Wonderful spot! Excellent location, plenty to do nearby and a very nice hike that starts right from the property. Service was exceptional and very friendly. Responsive and quick to help with any issues that arise. Would highly recommend!

Perfect spot for our trip to the Diamond Beach. Very friendly and welcoming and extremely clean. Peaceful and relaxing. Would definitely recommend.
