We always stop at Doughty Glen Winery when we're in the area but this was the first time we stayed at the inn. We planned our trip with another couple on a weekend when Songbird Ohio was performing. (She is definitely not to be missed.) The location is beautiful. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff is kind & accommodating & the home-made breakfast is wonderful. Housekeeping cleaned our rooms each day also providing fresh, clean towels, more soaps & additional coffee & tea. Breakfast is served each morning from 7:30am - 10:00am with options varying from baked eggs, sausage links & patties, hash brown casserole, biscuits & gravy, sheet pan pancakes, breads, pastries, coffee, juice, milk & tea. Everything is delicious. We enjoyed the beautiful view while we ate. We loved sitting outside feeding the ducks, mingling with the horses & donkey, watching the squirrels & birds. Later in the day, we enjoyed watching the dogs play in the pond or herding the horses all while we sipped a glass of wine. The lobby of the inn is cozy & reminiscent of visits to Alpine Alpa & Chalet in the Valley (which I miss terribly). The fireplace & cuckoo clock bring back memories. The inn & winery also offer a nice meat & cheese plate that we enjoyed with the wine. Between the comfort of the inn & the tranquil beauty of the location, we had a very relaxing & enjoyable weekend getaway. We are all looking forward to our next visit.

Needed a moment away from our busy schedules. From the moment we turned up the driveway I felt a sense of peace. Don’t let the age of this beautiful inn sway you! It’s well maintained including the grounds! We got checked in and grabbed a bottle of wine. We got to meet Friday the Donkey and one of the horse before they were called up for the night ( the owner did one whistle and off they went) . It felt majestic!! then they had a performer from 6 to 9 we left to eat dinner, but came back and called the end, amazing way to end our night. We woke in time to enjoy their homemade breakfast! Delicious!!

Absolutely love it here. One of my favorite places to go. I found this place probably five months ago and I’ve already been there Four times me and a couple of my friends went this past weekend and it was just absolutely beautiful. The horses were roaming. The atmosphere was so nice and relaxing. Wine is amazing definitely worth the drive

Very comfortable accomodations with a great bathroom setup. There is a full bath with an additional sink outside so 2 people can easily get ready at the same time. The included house made breakfast is delicious. There is wine tasting, wine by the glass, or bottles for purchase in the warm and cozy lobby. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

This was our first time to Amish Country and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and relax. Staff was awesome and the grounds are absolutely gorgeous! The horses roam and are so friendly and let you come right up to them. We went horseback riding for the first time and our tour guide was great and informative of questions we had along the way. Beautiful pond to sit by and watch the ducks and feed them while listening to live music on Friday and Saturday nights. We will definitely be back!

Wow! What a beautiful weekend we had! This place is so lovely with the most beautiful scenery in an idyllic countryside setting! Beautiful views, horses everywhere, live music in the evenings! We grabbed a glass of wine and sat out back listening to the music and taking in the views! We went into historic downtown Millersburg for some shopping and lunch and then took an afternoon horseback ride! So lovely! The staff there were so friendly and professional! The owner even chatted with us while we were waiting to go on our horseback ride. She was very nice! The next day we took a hike and then visited the historic Victorian House museum. Highly recommend for a nice weekend getaway!!

Google
My wife and I wanted to get away for a weekend and found this place online. Its a nice little Inn and Winery that sets back off the road. The rooms were nice and clean for being a older building. We did some wine tasting and we really liked the Strawberry and the Concord. They had a acoustic guitar player that sang 60s and 70s songs in the gazebo out back. I would highly recommend this place for a nice weekend trip. Only about 2 1/2 hours from Pittsburgh. Thank you we had a good time.

Yelp
Peace and quiet with beautiful horses to watch and great wine to sip while you're enjoying local performers. A perfect romantic getaway or a girl's weekend destination.

Yelp
This is a cute motel like inn that had both pros and cons for us. Horseback riding was great! Loved the guide. Breakfast was yummy with a good selection with a great eating area and lots of windows. The lobby was dirty and dusty with so much going on in the small space. I would suggest regular cleaning of all the stuff in here and a separate space for the winery is needed too for decluttering. The room we stayed in was outdated in decor. The bathroom still a bit dirty, with previous guest hair all over the bathroom floor. The outside gazebo areas had broken seating that was not very comfortable. And hard to watch the horses and ducks in the pond with so many overgrown bushes at the gazebo area. Outdoor up keep really needed so guests can be comfortable in the outdoor spaces. I do not think we would spend the night here again... but would go back for the horseback riding.

Yelp
Best place to stay! Went with our family and had a great time! Amish country closes down early in this area, so how wonderful it was to return to the hotel to enjoy live music, wine tasting, horses and donkeys and ducks walking freely around the beautiful grounds, and you can feed and pet them too! They also offer horseback riding and Chrissy taught us everything we needed to know! We had such a great time with her! Definitely worth requesting!!

Yelp
We received a gift certificate to visit here. We scheduled the visit and didn't know what to expect. When we arrived it's a nice journey through Amish country which is impressive and then up a long driveway to the resort. My first thought of when I was arrived was that it's a motel not a hotel resort. All of the rooms are exterior v/s interior. They do have a way to go to the main lobby of the hotel room via your room. The lobby is okay, a little messy to be honest. They have a winery in the lobby. But it's just a stand where you can select wines. Some comfortable couches and a small lobby to relax at, drink your wine and for breakfast. The day we arrive it was chilly and rainy. We attended an event of a singer that was here for the winery. The outside is nice but a bit outdated. I'd say this entire lodge is outdated and could use some modern times added to it. They do have a vineyard on the property that belongs to the winery. We checked in and we had $3 credit. But they were so odd about it. We couldn't use it for anything but another stay. We got a deal when the person booked our resort because the fee was $150 and the day we arrived the rate was 180 per night. The breakfast was alright nothing special. I'd say this place could be stunning if they updated the place, create a separate room or building for the winery v/s in the lobby. A bit off-putting to be honest.

Yelp
I loved, loved, loved going horse riding. Christy was amazing! She knew her horses and who should ride who . Can't wait to come back with the kiddos

Yelp
This place is the heart of Amish country Ohio beautiful landscapes amazing beautiful horses that run the property free. Very peaceful relaxation in the gazebo by the beautiful pond while drinking their amazing wine the food is exquisite the rooms are a masterpiece I recommend anybody that wants to get out of the city and relax to head to The guggisberg Swiss inn and winery the people here are amazing

Renee G.

Yelp
Christy took us on an amazing guided tour as we rode the horses. She was extremely knowledgeable about the horses, patient, and engaging! She even offered to stop and take our pictures on the horses. I would highly recommend horse back riding here. The horses are extremely well trained and there was little direction or redirection needed to keep the horses on course.

Yelp
This was the third year in a row my wife and I spent our anniversary here. The rooms aren't anything to write home about but that's not why we go. We go for the beautiful outdoor atmosphere. Sitting by the peaceful pond with a delicious sangria watching the horses roam is so relaxing. We always buy a handful of bottles of the house made wine to recreate the sangria at home. The local Amish people are very charming. We love eating and shopping at the nearby businesses. If you are looking for a fancy, chic hotel you might want to look elsewhere. If you are looking for peaceful tranquility with good house made wine look no further.

Yelp
Definitely a unique experience. The room itself was basic. Definitely outdated decor but I actually liked it because it went with the overall cozy feel of the place, whether that's intentional or not I don't know! But very clean and perfect for a weekend getaway. Quite enjoyed the wine on site, but I don't know that I would boast it as a winery. A little shopfront in the lobby where you can sample and buy isn't my idea of a winery, but that's not why I chose to stay here so for me, it was just a perk. But I think visitors to town for shopping who drove out of their way to make a pitstop at local winery may be disappointed. The laughing blush wine was our favorite, we enjoyed two bottles over our long weekend. Weekend complimentary breakfast was nice for sure. Biscuits and gravy, cheesy hashbrowns, bacon wrapped egg cups, and assorted toasts and pastries. Nice way to start the day off! But the real gem of this place is the unique horse experience. When we pulled up, they were roaming freely on both sides of the long drive and we worried they got loose somehow. I knew there were horses nearby on the property because we signed up to horseback ride but we didn't know they'd literally be in the yard of the inn. You can walk right up and pet them while they graze throughout the yard around the beautiful gazebos, swings, and pond behind the inn. This was so quirky and fun! Horseback riding itself was awesome and the hour long ride through the rolling hills and woods on the property was beautiful this time of year. The guide, Rudy, was very nice. I'd come back for the horse experience alone, but the entire place was very pleasant and relaxed. Truly perfect for a cozy weekend getaway.

Yelp
The Guggisberg Swiss Inn is a fantastic place to stay when visiting Ohio's Amish country. The grounds are beautiful and filled with free roaming horses and other animals. The yard behind the Inn has a gazebo and swings that overlook a duck-filled pond. The horses that are available to ride are beautiful, well cared for animals that wander freely about in their herds and are very friendly. The staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. They really strive to help make your stay as relaxing, memorable, and fun as possible.

Yelp
From the beautiful winding country roads to get there; to the hillside view that overlooks the majestic land; the horses, the cows, the ducks that surround the area; different areas to pick from outside to sit, relax & breathe in the fresh clean air; the Lobby & diningroom are warm & inviting; the guest rooms are perfect all around, with extra comfortable beds & quality linens that make for a great night sleep; the entire staff is above & beyond gracious & welcoming!!! It was absolutely worth our 1,100+ mile drive to enjoy the Guggisberg Swiss Inn!!! Can't wait to go back!!!

Yelp
We just enjoyed three wonderful nights here. The two young college students working the front desk when we arrived Thursday (June 30, 2019) evening were delightful and very helpful. The scenery is worth the cost of the room itself. A must visit when coming to Ohio's Amish Country. Be sure to check out their cheese factory and enjoy the Chalet in the Valley restaurant next door.

Yelp
This place is a sleeper. A little out of the in amish land but we were shocked at the quality of the wines. They have a raspberry tart that is amazing. Well worth the stop!!!!!

Yelp
We booked this on a whim for our anniversary and I'm am so happy we did. The atmosphere, wines, and people are awesome. We are already planning our next trip back because I couldn't say enough nice things about this place to really do it justice.

Yelp
Wonderful place to relax in. The ground were beautiful, we were able to see ducks, rabbits, horse and colt roaming the grounds while we were there. We did hear any traffic nice just the sound of nature. The staff was friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Just a great place to get away and relax in Amish country and close to many things to visit.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to stay in the jacuzzi suite over this past weekend and it was AMAZING!!!!! It is absolutely beautiful...from the room to the view outside to the breakfast. It is such a calm relaxing place to go and do absolutely nothing but read a book as you watch the ducks or swans or even just relax with a coffee in hand. Can not wait till winter to come around so we can come back and see the beautiful view of the hillside with snow!!! A+++++++++++++
