Genuinely, The Guildhall Tavern is an absolute GEM! They literally have THE BEST staff I've ever come across to date! They're super friendly, experienced, informative, engaging, fun & super professional whilst feeling like they love what they do - INCREDIBLE!! The food was delicious, the atmosphere warm & inviting! It was my Birthday 🎉 & the restaurant sang 'Happy Birthday' & 'Faye -our perfect waitress' delivered a complimentary dessert! All in all, I'm SO happy that I chose The Guildhall Tavern to celebrate my 56th Birthday 🎈 Thanks everyone!!! 💖

What a delightful evening. We were searching for a place for a special celebration and the reviews looked great so we booked a table. The food was DELICIOUS and the service from Dom and Apple was also delightful. I had the days Special - which was Massamon curry with huge pieces of meaty fish and an amazing sauce which was like lobster bisque meets Thailand - absolutely fabulous. My husband had the platter with catch of the day - also stunning. We even squeezed in a chocolate fondant to round it all off! I only wish we had found it sooner!!

Booked Christmas Eve lunchtime. Expected it to be busy, and it was, but the food and service was the usual 5 star plus standard. We never go wrong at this restaurant. Every course was just yummy, I had the steak, would highly recommend, the starters and desserts were gorgeous. The service was professional, prompt and friendly. Looking forward to visiting again in the New Year. The Guildhall can rightly claim to be the best restaurant in Poole

Google
What a superb little restaurant. We arrived at our allotted time and the restaurant was fairly quiet. We were offered the opportunity for drinks up stairs whilst browsing the menu. That made for a really relaxed meal. By the time we go down for our meal, about an hour later, the restaurant was full. The staff were really attentive and great fun, joining in with our sense of humour. The food was absolutely stunning. No room left for any dessert, but the starters and mains were all amazing. A great selection of wines too. Can only recommend and am already looking forward to going back in the near future.

The food was superb and the service was great. Really liked that they sell a locally made Prosecco. Only small downside was the beer choices—not the best, but the bottled IPA was actually really good.

We had the pleasure of booking the Guildhall Tavern for our wedding lunch reception and we had the most spectacular food and wine pairings topped with the best service. Our guests absolutely enjoyed the menu that was curated for the occasion by the chef. We are still raving about the food almost a month later. Also, if you're there please do try the English Sparkling Wine (Champagne) it was divine. Thank you to the Guildhall Tavern team for giving us the best treatment and elevating our dining experience, making our day even more special.

Everything was at a high level. The dishes were delicious, and I personally liked the scallops. The service was excellent. The main dishes were not served quickly, although the restaurant was not fully loaded. A nice bonus from the restaurant for my birthday. Overall, I recommend it.

Google
Amazing seafood and steak at the Guildhall Tavern tonight. We’ve been coming for years and it’s one of the best restaurants in Bournemouth/Poole in our opinion. Ingredients are always fresh, great taste, wonderful service, welcoming ambience with nice decor. We will be back again soon!

Yelp
Guildhall Tavern is actually a French restaurant, with some English favorites on the menu. We ended up in Poole after getting off our cruise ship turned into a nightmare, so we didn't get the chance to go to London. Our friend found this restaurant online in the Michelin Guide - it is a "Michelin plate" and has a "good standard" rating. We were seated in a little section/room with a door that opens to outside - nice and private. It was my goal to have a proper fish and chips meal while in the UK, so, of course, that's what I ordered. The lunch menu gives options for just a starter, or one, two, or three courses. I got two courses - battered haddock with house tartar, peas, and fries as my main, and a cheese plate for dessert. The plate was nicely presented and the fish was perfect - golden, crispy fried on the outside, and moist and flaky inside, and the homemade tartar sauce was creamy and flavorful without being too heavy. They bring bread and olives for you while you wait for your meal, so the one piece of fish and fries was really filling. The cheese plate had two matured French cheeses (one was blue) and some fruit and nuts. They took the cheese out of the fridge for me when I ordered so that it would be at a nice temperature for dessert - great idea. I was already full at this point but the cheese was delicious, great small portion, and a perfect way to end my meal. Service was top-notch - friendly, attentive, and timely. Prices for the lunch specials were very reasonable - mine was 17 pounds for the two courses, and portions are fair, depending on what you order.

Yelp
I ate here with two friends last night and could not recommend this restaurant more highly. From the moment we walked in, we were made most welcome by the staff, who were very attentive, even though the restaurant was packed with customers. The service was impeccable and the cooking exquisite. Dishes that were sampled included, soft herring roes on toast, a chicken liver parfait (served with Kumquat jam) and a delicious cheese souffle. These were followed by some Halibut wrapped in pancetta, a large Skate wing served with capers and cherry tomatoes and good old fashioned Haddock and pommes frites. Every dish was faultlessly prepared and ravenously consumed ! Booking is essential and on last night's evidence, mandatory.

Yelp
French restaurants don't seem so common these days, but this is run by a friendly French family right in the heart of old Poole. Lots of classic French cuisine, and we had three menus to choose from, the pre-Xmas one, the regular a la carte (&table d'hôte), plus a specials menu. Lots of fish, presumably sourced locally, with the quay nearby. I has skate wing with cream sauce and morels, then crepe suzette flambeed. My partner had hake in fill pastry and a lovely looking hazelnut meringue. Excellent white wine by the carafe. Cooking was good bistro standard. Room was a bit cold to start with. And they brought a stingy amount of vegetables which I can only assume was a misunderstanding. Bill for four of us was £123 with wine and coffee. I would certainly go again.

Yelp
Best ever UK restaurant experience, and among the top anywhere in the world! Such a relaxing environment and yet extremely competent crew, serving superb food at - for the quality - very reasonable prices. What's not to like? No wonder the place was completely full! We left ourselves in the hands of maitre David, and were not disappointed. Wine and main course - catch of the day - masterly recommended, and desserts a masterpiece of art (so much, so the guests sitting next to us asked "what was that - we want some, too". Superb food, very competent and attentive service - recommended by all means!
