Beautifully curated store featuring estate and antique jewelry. The enchanting hot air balloon window displays drew in our large group, and upon entering we were greeted kindly. The store owner even let her sweet dog greet us and play with us! He had some adorable tricks, and we enjoyed looking at each piece. Thank you for a great experience!

Guilford is by far our favorite jewelry store! They have a beautiful collection of unique vintage jewelry and the most wonderful staff who are incredibly knowledgeable about their pieces. Additionally, they are always professional, warm and helpful. On several occasions they have gone above and beyond to help us with jewelry that needs repair work even when the jewelry was not purchased at their store. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

My experience was overall great. I will caution, I am a young alternative looking person and when I first entered the shop I don't think I was greeted and I certainly felt a little ignored, if not even watched from a distance. It was a busy day with lots of people, but I didn't feel like I was getting the same level of service as the older or more conventionally appearing customers. Once I flagged down an employee though, everything was smooth sailing. The woman I spoke with was very pleasant and helped me look at a few different rings. She went out of her way to try to find out the story behind the ring I chose which was very appreciated. I also felt like the prices were fair for all the rings I saw. They really gained back the 5 stars in my purchasing experience. The ring I bought was significantly smaller than my finger so it needed to be resized. I was planning to take it home that day and take it to my local jeweler but they insisted upon doing the resizing at no additional cost. I told them I lived far away and they insisted and waived my shipping costs. When I left the store they gave me a fake silicone ring so I "didn't leave empty handed" and a bag of candy which I thought was very cute. It took about 3 weeks to be resized and arrive and the shipping experience was great on their end. They called me and arranged a good time for delivery and the package came very soon. It was sent FedEx with signature delivery. (FedEx did ignore that requirement and deliver to my building's secure package lockers but that's not Guilford &Co's fault.) I was most impressed with the packaging. My ring came in a pretty big but also discreet box. Inside the box was some supportive packing material and another bubble mailer, the bubble mailer also had a shipping label on it. My ring was well secured in the bubble mailer. I was so impressed that they had the foresight to pack it so well. Even if the box was fully damaged my package would still have been able to be tracked in the bubble mailer. With one of a kind antique jewelry that kind of care really shows that they go the extra mile. The resizing job also looks great. You cannot even tell.

Very nice experience. Three different times I bought gifts for my wife, so obviously I am pleased. Pleasant atmosphere, great staff, very wide selection of estate jewelry -- something for all tastes and budgets. I like the Victorian pieces -- history, distinction, not what you find elsewhere. Mindy and Gracie are terrific pros, knowledgeable and helpful, as are Alex and Lynn. Love the place.

My boyfriend decided last minute to propose on our St Michaels getaway weekend and the staff here was absolutely wonderful in helping him find the perfect ring. Their collection of estate and antique jewelry is just what we were looking for and their wide selection of pieces in all price ranges was both surprising and unexpected. We can't say enough positive things about the store and staff and will definitely be back!

Unfortunately, I can't give a decent review. While visiting St. Michael's on vacation my sister and I decided to take a look at the local estate jewelry. Guilford & Co came highly recommended. However, upon entering the store we were rudely told this store was primarily estate jewelry. Implying that we didn't belong in the store. IYKYK As Vivian in Pretty Women said, "big mistake!"

Guilford and Company are top notch professionals who thrive with their customer service, professionalism, friendliness, and knowledge of their products. My wife and I celebrated our 17th Wedding Anniversary and were just browsing stores in St. Michales. When we went into Guilford and Company the staff was so friendly and welcoming. They helped us look at possible new rings for my wife. Carla, the owner was there and helped with the process as well. We decided to leave the store and come back later. When we came back, they remembered our names and were just as excited as we were to make our final selection which we did, and were very happy with our one of a kind choice. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Guilford & Company and making this a very special anniversary and trip for us.

Fantastic collection and wonderful salespeople! This summer I randomly walked in and found something I loved. The atmosphere was fantastic and the salespeople were so kind and informative. Although the items they carry are expensive, they are also very reasonably priced according to their quality. They have definitely earned a lifetime buyer out of me.

Yelp
OMG! This antique and estate jewelry store is simply amazing. The selection is vast with price points for all buyers. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and inviting. I have to quiet my fluttering heart every time I walk in...I want to buy almost every single item in the store. I have such an emotional reaction to the jewelry at this store. If you are looking for a lovely new piece to add to your collection, this gem of a store is a must visit. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Having ogled some gold estate/signed pieces in the window over the past couple of days, I finally dragged my husband in for an impromptu first visit..... I wasn't expecting much, but, WOW. It turns out that the good stuff is hidden in the store. Case after case of antique diamond and gemstone jewelry! We may need to visit Guilford and Co. every time I'm in town! I was surprised at how large this store is. The pieces are displayed well, grouped by era as well as stone type, as far as I could tell. I also couldn't believe how many Edwardian and Art Deco pieces they had on site. I mostly browsed the gemstone rings, but I'd imagine that this would also be a great place to purchase a piece with dreamy old cut diamonds! They also have a GIA GG on-site who is available to answer more detailed questions. Some standouts -- -a warm L/M round cut diamond in a glowing emerald halo with absolutely GORGEOUS tiny milgrain detail on the bezel -an intricate and HUGE Art Deco diamond brooch/pendant that I didn't dare try on -a high carat yellow gold ring set w/ a rich, dark amethyst cab -a fireball of an orange sapphire set in a halo ring -a blue moonstone ring set in an angular diamond and filigree halo -several Edwardian diamond rings in the central case, including what looked like a three-stone of old (mine?) cut diamonds in a filigree setting -and.... Well, I could go on and on, but I don't imagine anyone is actually still reading this. :) I should also mention that it is a very comfortable, low pressure environment to browse in. The SA was more than happy to dart from case to case, and even suggested different items for me to try on. She was friendly, informed, and very easy to get along with -- No fake nicety or condescension here. I actually told her directly that I'd used up all my "spending points" on jewelry this month, but she just kindly asked what I'd used them on and then continued letting me try on the pretties. Can't wait to make a return visit. I'm already (secretly, shhh) plotting another trip to St. Michaels.

Yelp
This is hands down my favorite jewelry store on the planet. There are a number of reasons why I feel this way: 1. Two of my favorite pieces came from this store, one of them being my engagement ring from the 1920's and a Cartier yellow/rose gold love knot from the 1920s. 2. Their pieces are incredible, and usually one of a kind. If not one of a kind, you would have to search pretty hard to find another version of the same piece. 3. The customer service is incredible. My fiancé and I come into this store whenever we're visiting his mom and they're always so welcoming. Granted, my fiancé has given them a lot of business over the past two years - but they treated us the same before we bought anything. 4. Vintage jewelry is my favorite. I love that the pieces you buy already have a story and you're merely a chapter in it. 5. Every time we come in they insist on cleaning my ring. 6. I wasn't apart of this process, but my fiancé said that when he was looking for rings that the staff there were incredibly helpful and patient. 7. Also, as far as prices go for jewelry, I think it's reasonable. So, I encourage all of you to go to this store when you're in the area. Even if you're not, but love vintage jewelry - it's only an hour and a half drive from DC. Just saying.

Yelp
Beautiful place to just browse, and if you're lucky to be with the right person, you might just get lucky with a gorgeous piece of jewelry. No snobbery, just low key friendly people who look like they love where they work. A mix of old and new plus a nice selection for men as well.

Yelp
My husband and I planned a long weekend in St. Michael's - where we have not visited before. I walked into this jewelry store about an hour after arriving in town. The sales associate Gail was a truly lovely woman who took great care in speaking with me about an antique ring I'd fallen in love with. Fast forward 24 hours. I decided that I wanted the ring. I thought I'd pop in and buy it before dinner. Gail was with a customer so I stood at the counter for a WHILE being totally ignored by the other woman behind the counter. I was really getting mad! I finally said, "I'd like to buy this ring but I'm only paying $X for it due to your poor service". The woman was a complete jerk to me after that (OK I could have been more diplomatic but I wanted to plunk a sizable sum and eat!) so I left the store. I decided to go back and ask for the owner's name as I thought he/she would like to know that a paying customer was totally ignored and treated poorly when she spoke up - thereby losing a sale. Turns out Rude Lady IS the owner. She and her husband and their enormous dog then treated me to an hour long diatribe about why it was fine that they were rude to me. She did eventually apologize after I began sobbing uncontrollably. After that horrifying scene I did not feel at all comfortable in that snobby town so we drove home after only 24 hours - forfeiting 2 nights paid for at the B&B we were staying at. This a terrible store and St. Michael's is the Devil's summer home.

Yelp
This is one of the best jewelry stores that I have ever visited! The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable and the selection of antique and estate jewelry is exceptional. It is a "must see" if you are anywhere near the area.

Yelp
Love this store!! I just purchased another great bracelet from Julie, the owner, and cannot recommend this store enough. Great estate pieces to choose from and the value is so much greater than new jewelry. If you are looking for a wonderful piece of jewelry that you will love and wear for years to come, don't miss a visit to this store!

Yelp
Great store with knowledgable and professional staff. I would highlyrecommend them to all my friends
