25 Best Beaches in the United States

"With palm trees, clear water, and pristine white sand near restaurants and shops, Gulf Shores Public Beach provides easy parking, family-friendly activities like volleyball and boogie boarding in relatively calm surf, and a nearby pier (with a $3 admission) where you can watch fishermen, pelicans, and occasionally dolphins." - Patricia Doherty Patricia Doherty Patricia Doherty is a writer who specializes in covering destinations, resorts, and cruises for Travel + Leisure and other publications. The beach is clean. The sand is so very soft and fluffy 🤩 The water is beautiful. We all had a great time. I definitely suggest lots of sunscreen!! There was like 3 jellyfish 🪼 in the water. You also might have to watch out for some of the rude people fishing from the beach 2 feet in front of you and your children. 🤦‍♀️

Soft, clean sand and cool water. Bathrooms were clean and spacious. Showers are located close to the bathrooms. Must pay for parking before you enjoy the beach. On this trip we found a sea slug on the beach and sting ray on the shore line.

Absolutely love this place! We have friends that invited us down to stay, and we loved it so much now that we are seriously thinking of moving to Southern Alabama. You do have to pay to park here through the park mobile app. It's easy to use though.

It’s a longer walk to the beach than you’d think but so worth it for the stunning views! The sand is white and if you’re into sea life there’s lots of shell varieties. There’s so much to do around here. Definitely a trip for everyone! Though I have to say I didn’t notice a lot of easily accessible beach access for the disabled.

Gulf Shores Public Beach is a clean, beautiful public beach. It’s a pretty wide beach full of white sand, volleyball courts, and lifeguards. I don’t know if this is specific to the day I went, but the waves were large for the gulf. I really enjoyed the water and it wasn’t too cold for the winter. The beach also isn’t overly crowded and there’s plenty of space. I highly recommend Gulf Shores Public Beach.

Love this beach, plenty of parking, very clean, great public beach. There are plenty of food options within walking distance along with beach stores.

Beautiful, clean, and well preserved. I didn’t see any litter in the beach the week we were there. In late July watch out for all the jellyfish in the water and all the crabs running on the beach. There was an insane amount of advertisements on boats and planes over the water all day everyday
