"Guli Hagadol When former Israeli commando Guli Dabas opened Guli Hagadol, you might have been forgiven for thinking a name like “Guli the Great” was unbridled narcissism. After a chat with the chef, however, we get it: his life is like an adventure book that swoops from Baghdad to Israel , Lebanon to Yemen. All that, plus rigorous military training, are factors shaping his restaurant, serving favorites from various Middle-Eastern latitudes, all prepared methodically and painstakingly. For erstwhile warrior Guli the Great, “Cooking is logistics.”"

I sat in smaller of the two restaurant's...service was 10 out of 10. Ordered hummus and falafel for starters, big mistake as they were huge...one would of been plenty. Both were very good. Main was the star of the show, I had lamb and beef kebab with rice. Kebabs were obviously freshly made and tasted great...I didn't like the rice as it was too dry and aldente...when I told waiter it was replaced immediately with fries at no cost. I really wanted to try dessert but stomach wouldn't let me.

I visited the place with a friend Saturday night. The place was empty but also the other restaurants around the block. I guess it was due to the holiday season. Nevertheless, it is conveniently located near Masaryk avenue, so if you are craving for Middle East food after having done some shopping or just walking around, then this is your place. My friend and I ordered hummus with roasted mushrooms and beef & lamb kebak. Even though we asked for the regular size dishes, we ended up feeling full. Both dishes were really tasty and their price was fair. I'm not sure if the place is new in town, but if it is so, then give it a try.

There food is absolutely delicious. That said, if you order them for delivery they will most likely send the wrong product. I've ordered from them three times now and every time I receive the incorrect order. So I'm paying for a ribeye wrap, but am getting a falafel wrap. When I reach out they do nothing about it. So order delivery at your own risk. I'm sure they're great in the restaurant though.

Fresh baked products with proper spiciness and temperature. This is a must in Mexico City. Is regular price and the owner is there politely answering doubts about the food. Very nice service, ambience and pet friendly!

Without a doubt the best falafel on this side of the Atlantic. I have lived in the maghreb and in the Middle East and can speak with conviction when I say every plate on the menu is as authentic as can be. It helps that the owner can be habitualy found greeting guests and overseeing quality. The recipes are his families century old tried and tested combination of flavors. Do not leave without trying the date honey ice cream with tahini. The staff is friendly and knowledgable and the atmosphere is familiar. Have been 5 times and brought family and friends and was enjoyed by all.

The shakshouka is an excellent breakfast option if you want something other than chilaquiles and hot cakes. But of course they also have chilaquiles.
