This was the most charging hotel I have ever stayed. It felt like a hotel from a fairy tale. We loved our stay in this charming little town over looking the mountains and walking distance to the cutest shops with the nicest people we have met in Turkey. The hotel staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We left our hearts in this beautiful hotel and town.

Update: seems like all the issues that we had with during our stay boiled down to the fact that the facility is severely understaffed. So with the limited number amount of people they make do. That being said, it was apparent that each staff was trying their best. Language is a barrier as staff may not speak English fluently but basic communication should be fine. We found the stay in the hotel to be very enjoyable and relaxing until the end Previous review: Stay was off to a very bad start. We wanted a peace of mind and asked to be picked up from airport by private transfer and the hotel managed to butcher very simple task Despite us asking for details on how we will be picked up from the airport, we were just being given a generic answer that someone will wait with a piece of paper with our name upon arrival The issue is: no one actually showed up with a piece of paper waiting for us when we exited from baggage claim area Given that we were never told the driver contact number, we had to be the one trying to find the driver in the airport. He (a man bringing a piece of paper) wasn't anywhere to be found. Only when we exited the arrival area on to the roadside and sent a message to hotel to ask where the driver was, and continue to look around us, we spotted him behind in the arrival area coming out of nowhere and looking clueless He told us to wait by the roadside, seemingly to pickup the car, and left us waiting for 40 minutes in 36C degrees weather. All that time the driver already had my WhatsApp number as it's printed in the paper he brought with him. He could've directly messaged me to coordinate with me and make things easier, but he took off without keeping us posted With no sign of him now for the second time after we saw him briefly and were told to wait, I had to contact the hotel to reach out the driver (the hotel didn't even bother to pickup our calls in the first 3 of them). They were nonchalant about this and actually asked us back what they should do about it and gave weird excuses like the flight was 12.10PM arrival (it was and it actually arrived on time hence we shouldn't have to wait that long for him to turn up and for him to get the car from car park), and something else about the driver mistakenly waiting in international arrival (we had given all information about our flight details prior to the hotel and the hotel said they've also already given this to the driver), and the car getting stuck in traffic jam (there was no traffic whatsoever in the airport area) Even after I had managed to get in touch with the hotel via WhatsApp, they will only forward his WhatsApp message to me instead of sharing me his number After 40 minutes of waiting, finally the driver showed up For the price point we were quoted which was at a premium, things are managed much more professionally on other parts of world that's even far less touristy

Place is so lovely, can’t recommend enough. The staff is kind and the place is well organized. The gardens are beautiful and the cats always want a scratch. ||My one regret is not asking if some of their jewelry on display was for sale. Really great pieces.

The hotel is a tranquil oasis on the edge of the village with a lot of character and charm. The views are beautiful, there are several lovely gardens and patios and there are lots of nice spots to chill out both indoor and outdoor. The village itself is busy with tour groups during the day and is a bit of a circus but is quiet in the early morning and evening. ||The room fixtures have seen better days and some things could do with being replaced eg lamp shades and blinds which are old and stained and peeling paint that could do with refreshing. We had a few issues - the WiFi connection was intermittent and slow most of the time and the electricity in our room went off at one point. Service was a bit haphazard in general with a few communication difficulties. We also had a maintenance issue which took two days to fix. Housekeeping was not up to scratch. In our bathroom there was black dust on a ledge and marks on the tiles where it hadn’t been cleaned properly. Teabags, biscuits and nuts were not replenished after the first day. No coffee was provided. Water was provided in glass bottles but no glasses to drink out of. We have found the lack of glasses common in the hotels we stayed at in Turkey but it seems strange to us. ||The temperatures were a bit chilly during our stay in late April and it rained a lot but the room was not very warm as there was no heating on. The fireplaces in the public areas were also not in use which was a pity. Our bathtub was a lifesaver to warm up. ||Breakfast was served at our table rather than a buffet. There was a nice selection of the usual items and it was good quality and homemade. The only negative was the eggs which were extremely oily. Unusually orange juice was not included and you had to pay extra. We stayed for three days and there was no variation in the breakfast spread whatsoever. They served identical items each day so by the last day we didn’t really want to eat anything. ||Dinner in the restaurant was not that great. We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere but the food was a bit disappointing. The cheapest wine was quite steep at €57. We only ate there once as we were tired on arrival but as it was disappointing we ate dinner in the village on the other nights. ||Overall, it was a mixed bag. Lovely surroundings and views. Nice atmosphere. But service and facilities leave room for improvement.

Adding a stay in Sirince when visiting Ephesus is a good idea. The town has a touristy element to it but it's also a very pretty hillside town to walk around, with some really lovely views. And staying at this hotel (close to the busy main town area but nevertheless in a tranquil and quiet spot) is also a good idea! I had a charming room in the house, the other side of the olive garden, with a balcony and a great view of the rolling hills and mountainside (though don't expect luxury spec, e.g. shower runs cold until warms up and temperature setting then tricky. no tv, etc, but all part of the charm). Excellent breakfasts. Local fresh produce, including olives and jams etc. One time I wanted to try dinner but no other guests around and didn't want to have dinner in an empty restaurant. I would imagine the main stone house in the higher section would be nice to stay at - the large terrace and lovely outside seating area with great views looked really great - but again no-one around at the time I was there, so lacking a little atmosphere (was late October so maybe out of season - would imagine great in the spring and summer when no doubt drinks and meals served outside).

We stayed here for 3 nights. It's in a perfect location, as you make it past all the busyness of town you arrived in this quiet sanctuary. Very kind of staff and relaxed environment. Relaxing on the upper patio is marvelous, with an amazing view and some cats to play with. Breakfast is a huge spread each morning. Highly recommend! There is parking in a lot next door that was just 100 TL per day

I wish we had at least one more night to spend here. Gullu Konaklari is very charming surrounded by a lovely garden. The porter lugged my 25kg suitcase all the way up some stairs to our room (next time I'm bringing a smaller suitcase!) and they upgraded us to a bigger room. The staff in general was very friendly. The room was clean and overlooked the garden. The food was delicious, both dinner and breakfast. And there was the cutest little cat family in the garden! GK is close to all the stalls and restaurants but was quiet at night. Highly recommend if you're in the area or need a place to stay before/after seeing Ephesus.

We loved the whole place. The welcome tea and the views are stunning. Perfect place to unwind and relax on the terrace with cats. Well detailed and lovely hosts. At two dinners here that I recommend. The breakfasts were the best we've had in Turkey!
