Gumshara Ramen is definitely one of the more unique ramen spots I’ve been to — especially with their no MSG broth and signature thick, rich style. If you like your ramen heavy and hearty, this place will be right up your alley.
I ordered the pork rib ramen, which came with a massive piece of meat that did fall off the bone (kind of), though the quality of the meat itself was just okay. Still, it’s a cool and fun dish to try, and the portion is generous.
The broth is what really separates Gumshara from other ramen joints — thick, flavourful, and comforting — though I found myself getting full after just a few sips since it’s so rich. The noodles were plentiful, but I would’ve preferred them a touch softer.
One thing I really liked is how you can customise your bowl with unlimited spring onions and condiments — makes it easy to tweak the flavours just how you like them.
Service was quick and friendly, and the place was packed, which says a lot about their following. Prices are a bit steep (around $25 a bowl), but you can tell they put effort into the broth.
Overall, a solid ramen spot and a nice change-up from the lighter styles you usually find — definitely one for those who like their ramen rich, thick, and full-bodied.
