Well after many years since we were last at Gundog Estate it was great to be back at this lovely little place in Pokolbin in the Hunter Valley. We decided to stay for a wine tasting here and would like to thank Debora for her wonderful hospitality and a great chat. I would definitely recommend going to this small but nice quaint little place for some nice wine. I recommend you buy a bottle of their Musket.

We’ve been joking amongst family that the reason we got married in the Hunter is because Gundog is closeby, and to be fair it was one of the main reasons we locked in our venue. 2 days after our wedding we booked a family tasting at Gundog, being our families favourite winery. We brought 2 extra people with us and they made no fuss about that. Jenny was an absolute pleasure to have there with us. I explained that my dad was Gundog’s biggest fan and she went above and beyond with him and our whole group to ensure this tasting was extra special. Thank you Jenny and thank you to the whole Gundog team for your incredible initiatives, and beautiful wine which is the common denominator for so many special memories! Xx

Had such a fantastic experience at Gundog Estate thanks to Jenny and Liz! They made our wine tasting truly memorable - warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. They took the time to share the stories behind each wine, made great recommendations, and created such a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Thank you both for making our visit so special, we’ll definitely be back!

We did a wonderful wine tasting here, ladies who ran it were warm, inviting and knowledgeable. Fantastic service! As a non wine drinker who was just along for the ride, I found the wines delicious and even ended up taking home a 6pack.

A beautiful surprise with their wine tasting. Highly recommend it if you coming to the Hunters. Found more the one wine to take home and can't wait to come back.

Had a delightful wine tasting stop at Gundog Estate on a biking tour of the Hunter Valley! We booked the premium tasting & thoroughly enjoyed being looked after by Debbie & her team who were so welcoming & knowledgeable. The gourmet pantry was excellent & love that dogs are welcome on the patio!

Lovely wines, but disappointing customer service. We visited on Friday, 9 May, and asked if it was possible to do a wine tasting, noting that the cellar door was empty at the time. From the moment we walked in, we didn’t feel welcomed. The staff member looked around before acknowledging us and made us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued guests. Unfortunately, the poor customer service overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable and memorable tasting. The staff seemed disinterested and dismissive, with questions met by curt responses and an overall cold attitude. It’s a real shame, as the wines themselves deserve praise. With better hospitality, Gundog could easily offer one of the best cellar door experiences in the region.

We did wine tasting - the wine was good, no doubt, but all of us found the lady in the shop to be borderline rude. She certainly did not provide a great service. We could choose 6 wines for the tasting but she did not let every individual choose and just poured for them. When I asked whether we could also choose the limited release wine, she was aggressive (to me) and simply flipped the wine menu and said no. I was reading halfway and did not appreciate her flipping it.
