Some of the best pintxos in Bilbao. Delicious food and very creative combinations. It’s a bit messy to order and get a table but it’s worth the effort. We had the best Tarte de Queso ever. It’s a must-have.

Google
The best bar in Bilbao; we go there every time we visit the city. The service is friendly, especially from Camila, and the food is excellent at a reasonable price. The cheesecake is a must-try! Every time I eat it, I want to have two portions. The steak was delicious and reason price.

We tried about six different pinchos here, some more elaborate visually, and creative than others. All were excellent but the 3-layer goat cheese with apple slice and mango puree, and the cod were the two standouts. We also liked the calamares sandwich and their version of basque cheesecake. Great to pair with either just tinto or tinto de verano. We find their version of tinto de verano on the sour lemony side at least compared to the ones we had in other parts of Spain (i.e., they tend to be much sweeter in Seville, Cordoba, and Granada). As for service, it took us a bit of time to get the attention of the crew but this was expected given the busy, pack of people it serves late night. Overall this is a nice pincho bar in the old square. Although we heard the other ones in the area are worth giving a try too.

Dropped in a few days ago for lunch and managed to get a seat at the bar. Quick friendly service. Lots of different Pintoxs on offer all delicious. We stayed for an hour very busy at times during our stay other times it was quiet at the bar. Would recommend.

Fantastic place .. everything was tasty !!!! All pintxos are excellent. Rabas might be a bit overpriced.

Google
This was recommended as the best Basque Cheesecake in Bilbao and it did not disappoint! I have a nut allergy and she was very accommodating looking up ingredients in the cookie topping to make sure I was safe. We had coffee and Basque Cheesecake for breakfast and it was incredible. The cheesecake was creamy in the center and thicker around the edges. The flavor with the caramelization was amazing and the cookie crumbs added a great texture since it doesn't have a crust like a typical American Cheesecake. The coffee was also creamy, and smooth. We sat outside and had a great view of the plaza and met other folks while enjoying the food. Will go back if we are in town again to try all the wonderful looking tapas they have as well!

Just arrived from San Sebastián. Our first Pintxos here and devoured within minutes… just delicious and way above the quality we tasted in San Sebastián! So much to choose from and nice atmosphere to drink and eat.

Google
Place was jam-packed when I arrived around 1300, but the employees moved through the line quickly and efficiently, and were pleasant about it. My friends recommended it, said it was the best pintxos they’d had while in Bilbao. Only got a couple as I’d had a big breakfast, but both tasted fresh and delicious. Washing down with a cold glass of txakoli wine was icing on the cake.

Yelp
Best Sandwich in Bilbao I will forever think about this sandwich. It's the kind of sandwich you travel to Bilbao just to have it. I've been to this place on 3 different occasions and each time it's been consistently good. It was the perfect amount of calamari, a crunchy fresh bread roll and just a light smear of a sauce. It's incredibly light. As for their other pintxos, you can opt for the pointing method by picking from what's behind the display or their daily menu. Both will offer solid options. You can't go wrong. Being that this place is located in Plaza Nueva you'll see a handful of spots offering what may look like similar dishes. They are not the same. Gure Toki is chic, it's delicious, it's a must visit.

Yelp
This place is a must for me when I'm in this beautiful city. Their entire menu is pretty good. Their idiazabal soup is delicious and highly recommended. The place gets full during the night as it's indicative of a great pintxo bar. One the best pintxos places I've stumbled my way into. Cheers

Yelp
Great tapas! A bit strange serving arrangement when you can sit and order drinks but have to go to the bar to order tapas, but nevertheless the ears were amazing! Great bites, deliciousness all around. Lovely setting in the Plaza Nueva in old town Bilbao.

Yelp
Intensidad punto com Since this place is popular with both locals and tourists, it's quite active. If you visit on a weekend afternoon, it might be difficult to find a spot to sit or even stand. Gure Toki has a nice assortment of dishes, but it's somewhat difficult to see what's offered because there were 20 million folks all over the place during our visit. Since it was super crowded, I got the sense that if I didn't order right in that moment that I would never get a chance to order again. If you are not a fan of crowded, tight spaces, then I recommend checking out another place.

Yelp
We stoppers In here with a guide to sample the Pintxos and enjoy a glass of Taxoli wine after an afternoon of touring around Bilbao. The food was among the best that we had in Bilbao. I particularly liked the langoustines and the fresh artichoke. Like all the bars, this one is small but we were able to get a table no problem since we were on the early side for dining. After a couple of Pintxos and a glass of wine we were off to the next spot. Definitely put this place on your list while you're barhopping in Bilbao. Also the chef has won many awards for his inventive and exquisite food including a Michelin star so you know this place is top-notch. Highly recommended

Yelp
I sure as hell enjoyed it! The chicken curry taco was excellent! The hongos were nice, too! Fast paced, so be prepared to order. Can't wait to come again.

Yelp
Can't say enough good things about Gure Toki. It made me realize just how marvelous the food is in the Basque Country. After visiting San Sebastian which completely opened my eyes and my taste-buds, I am no less surprised by Bilbao's food scene. Gure Toki offers exquisite small plates bursting with amazing flavors! I was able to discover this through the terrific bartender who was more than happy to tell us his recommended dishes of the day. One dish which was recommended and completely blew me away was their baby pea soup. Unlike the green pea soup from he US, this elegant concoction was bursting with fresh colors and flavors that reminded me of Spring. It was so delicious that made me returned for more the following day but due to the fact that they get fresh ingredients each day, the pea soup was no longer available. All of the pintxo bars in Bilbao seemed to offer options that looked so enticing. I particularly like the fact that people there are able to try multiple appetizer portion of the food, and the food there is simply phenomenal!

Yelp
When we visited Bilbao in 2019 we ate here twice and were impressed by the originality, the variety and the flavor of all the hot Pinchos. Our visit in 2022 was very disappointing. No soft shell crab. A strange board of "seasonal specialties" including a goose egg mashed into a bowl of oily, salty potatoes that we didn't finish. The waiter crowing that there is no english menu - not a problem for me- but Bilbao is an international city now and they could do better. I'm sure the Pandemic had an effect on all of these little places but the kitchen seemed fully functional to us and thee dishes coming out were not that great. We miss the old Gure Toki when we stumbled out full and happy. Perhaps they can fix it.

Yelp
One of the better pintxos bars that we went to in Bilbao that had prepared pintxos that weren't just croquetas, tortillas and montaditos, and that also had a kitchen making hot, to-order food. This place is worth a stop on your pintxos crawl if you're in Bilbao. They have an assortment of pintxos on the bar that range from little sandwiches to a little hamburger and about 8 other hot options you can order freshly made from the kitchen. They also have 10 or so larger portions of food that you can order from the kitchen. We opted for just a few small things: - Asian shrimp & vegetable fried dumpling - This was just okay. I was starving and needed something right away so I got this from the prepared foods on the bar. I was happy they microwaved this before serving it, as not all bars warm the food up. I found this to be just okay - the inside was a little bit salty. - Mushroom risotto - This was good, not too salty, they didn't skimp on the mushrooms. I thought it was pretty good. - Pulpo - The grilled octopus was the best dish that we had, we ordered a second one because we liked it so much. The octopus was fresh (the texture was not too chewy) and it was perfectly grilled. It came with a little bit of potatoes and a creamy sauce. Overall, one of the better pintxos/tapas places we found with a nice variety of pintxos and we especially liked that you could order hot food from the kitchen. Some of the cold food that was premade looked like it had been sitting for a while and was a little more hit or miss. Worth a stop on a pintxos crawl!

Yelp
Another pintxos bar that gets too much hype for what it delivers. Located in the Casco Viejo, they get really busy on weekend nights when there's barely any space to stand on the bar. The highlight by far is the foie gras a la plancha, everything else was less memorable.

Yelp
2.5 stars I really wanted to like this place, but I was completely underwhelmed by everything. They do more upscale tapas with an asian/fusiony twist, and I didn't love any of them. The octopus was downright bad, with a chewy and slimy texture. We had wine for our first round and cocktails for the second, since that's their specialty. My sis and I ordered two of the most popular cocktails and they were so sickly sweet and sour that we couldn't finish, really poorly balanced. Cute place though, with a very lively, trendy atmosphere.

Yelp
I completely overate just so I could try everything here! Firstly I should explain that I am obsessed with pintxos because I like to have a smorgasbord of options for tasting. What a great idea: one I wish that would bring to the US. Secondly, it is rare if ever you can eat at a Michelin star restaurant without spending €100. I came in the afternoon before everything was available and ordered only from the bar. The standout was the mushroom and egg soup!!! Great flavors and rich and with cute edible flowers for color. The tuna, which is served many places was exceptionally better than others with nice chopped red onion and peppers. The shrimp roll with vegetables tasted like an egg roll, which are tasty, but the other more local dishes are better here. The salmon roll was similar. The chorizo sausage thing (see photo) was great and not too greasy. They have a nice selection of wines including the local txakoli as well as some good local riojas. The ambiance is warm - a mix of rustic and industrial with wood stone and steel. The music playlist was a mix of good throwback hits from moby to the police with some soul thrown in there. Overall HIGHLY recommend!

Yelp
I think of all the pintxos bar in the main square in Bilbao, Gure Toki is probably the best in terms of offering modern contemporary pintxos. The presentation is great, along with the combinations of flavours they offer. The prices are extremely reasonable, and in the range of what others are charging. The standout items from my visit was the slow cooked egg with truffle cream & mushrooms. I can have it over and over again! If you ever find yourself in Bilbao, I highly recommend a visit to Gure Toki.

Yelp
Great pintxos! Couldn't stay as long as I wanted because my kids wanted to go to a toy store but I will be back!

Yelp
Imaginative, fun, and delicious. Quick. Despite the exceptional quality, prices were *very * reasonable, This place is a must if you're in Bilbao.

Yelp
If it tasted as good as it looked, this place would have been our top pick of the pintxo bars in Bilbao. Beautiful food. A must stop when in the Plaza Nueva in Casco Viejo.

Yelp
Was in Bilbao last week and on the look out for a good place which did tapas. In this Basque part of Spain, they actually do something called pintxo which is there version of pincho I think. And pincho/pintxo is like tapas but usually its spiked with a skewer. The restaurant is located in one of the main squares and was busy when we got there. Inside on the counter, there is a selection of pintxo dishes - I think you can just pick what you want right from there. You can see this in one of my photos. Most of the Pintxo places we walked passed seemed to be selling the same sort of things. We instead had a look through the menu and sat down on a table outside in the sun. The waiter only spoke a bit of English but just enough. And with the help of Google Translate, we pretty much worked out what was what. One of my favourite dishes was what Goggle literally translated as beef with algae. Lovely tender, flavoursome beef with some tasty 'algae' on top - lovely combination of textures. We had some other dishes including octopus (personally not that keen on its texture), a scallop dish, soft shell crab and of course patatas bravas (which everyone who gets tapas/pintxos must get!). While we were there, there was some guy who tried to scam/con us to buy a lighter. I actually went to the toilet and came back and noticed lighter on table. Apparently its a trick where if you touch it, he will claim you have used it and then you have to buy the lighter from him - something like that. Its a place with many tourists about so be aware.

Yelp
We had lunch at Gure Toki since our Basque friend recommended it as a great place to try pintxos. The three of us had spent most of the morning/afternoon at the Guggenheim and were starved for lunch by the time we got here. The place was packed, but we managed to snag a table downstairs. Our friend told us not to miss the idiazabal soup, which our waiter told us won some kind of Basque pintxo competition. It was good, but why it was so special was kind of lost on us (it also wasn't particularly warm by the time it hit our table). We also got some soft-shell crab (delicious), white asparagus (good, but too mushy), zucchini (the stuffed meat blossom was freakin' AMAZING, but the tempura veggie was a letdown), and this tray of tomatoes that made you feel like you died and went to tomato heaven every time you took a bite--best dish of the meal. We also got some pig ears (originally sold to us as "pig parts") that were....crunchy. Service in Spain is atrocious, but was particularly atrocious in this place. Like John Oliver's Janice in Accounting: they just don't give a fuck. The guy completely forgot our order of tinto de veranos (which is nectar of the gods; do not miss this drink while in Spain), then forgot the octopus, and we got plates about 15 minutes after the food arrived, and on and on. It makes us want to give this place three stars, but the food was pretty good, so we're grudgingly pushing it to four stars.

Yelp
Get the pig cheeks. Yummy, tender, fatty, so good. Goes well with a nice tinto you'll get here as well. Also did some squid, but was distracted by how good the pig was I forget what I wanted to say about the squid! It is small, but one of the many places on the plaza. If you work your way around the plaza eating, just be sure to include Gure Toki because like they say in their bar "It is not about showing off, we are actually the best."

Yelp
Gure Toki (it means 'Our Place') has to be able to vie for being one of the best pintxo establishments in Bilbao. My favorites were the foie, deep-fried soft-sell crab, and the white tuna in a can with just the most flavourful olive oil and onions and tomatoes. But then again, just about anything you'll order her will be amazing. During the day this place is quite quiet but gets insanely busy at other times, for example after the locals are done with church on Sunday and then flood the square. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Wonderful pinchos and friendly service. Was in Bilbao for four days and came here three times. It was my spot to start the evening. Gure Toki will start your evening with a bang.

Yelp
The worst chinese I have ever had in my life. I got the 7 treasures and I am still confused about what those mysterious treasures were.

Yelp
Good vibes on lovely Plaza Nueva. Better quality pinxtos (also calde or hot). As always stick to what locals eat, and dont be pushed by waiter to nice, but more expensive dishes.
google avatar

Yelp
We came here two nights in a row to take in the pintxos. Of the places in Bilboa, I found these to be among the best. I am particular to seafood and these did not disappoint. They were fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced. The wine was great. I also like the ambiance. We ran into people from many different countries there. Everyone was enjoying the pintxos and drinks.
google avatar

Vedzer B.

Yelp
Very creative and original pinchos.... excellent tastes , we licked our fingers after almost each one and ordered a second time for many of them. The place is small and shabby, can be crowded but it is worth the struggle Best food of our Basque trip by far... and very reasonably priced

Yelp
Yum! Well worth our little trek from the hotel to find Gure Toki - Friendly service, cute outdoor seating area and really interesting take on tapas/pintxo - As other reviews have noted these were quite original compared to what you get at most of the other tapas bars throughout the city. Wine is quite well priced as well and worth a carafe or two without breaking the bank!
