Sat 21st Sept 2024.. took a trip out to Brecon and decided to try something new and different. Decided on the Gurkha Curry for an evening meal. My word, am I glad we did. The entrance looked a little obscure and we weren't sure it was the right place, but were reassured by a friendly welcoming smile and given our table. Seating is arranged that there is not a huge amount of room, but there was enough space and a cosy cubby for smaller groups and all was well sufficient for two rather larger framed people. Ordered Pyaj Pokora (vegetarian dish) and Cheese Kukhura for starters. Both dishes arrived in a short time but were perfectly cooked, hot, and delicious. If this was the starter, then the main course should be as good or better. Main courses were King Prawn Kosheli with Chyau Bhat and Aloo Tama Bodi (veggie)with Bhat... and Garlic naan. When the dishes arrived, I dipped into my King Prawn dish and found the most unbelievable coconut flavoured sauce to accompany the king prawns... so delicious that my partner, a vegetarian, partook in the sauce and the instant look on her face said that she found it equally as good. Both meals and both starters were absolutely fantastically tasting, cooked to perfection, and of a perfectly balanced size in volume. Looking around, I saw others dishes and every one looked just as appetising as the other. There are two toilets near the entrance which are on the small size, but adequate. Both were immaculately clean at the time I was there. The whole place looked clean and the staff were well presented and most polite. Having never eaten this kind of food before I would most certainly advise at least one visit. There is a good selection of starters and main courses for vegetarians and access may be manageable for wheelchair users though the main and only entrance was a little narrower that perhaps some wheelchairs would need.. There is a local authority carpark nearby that, being the forward-thinking Powys Council, offers FREE parking after 6pm.. what more do you need for a lovely evening and a fabulous meal.

This was absolutely amazing. The dishes are very well priced. I loved every single bite. The only problem I had was that there wasn't more (The portions can be large, I just eat a lot). Honestly, the best restaurant I have been to in wales, would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a mix between Chinese and Indian food. This is 100% the place to go. The waiter was very welcoming, polite and professional. I could not recommend anywhere as much as I recommend this place. It can be spicy so watch out. The food is clearly cooked by the heart of the chefs and everything is freshly made and has fresh seasoning on it.

Enjoyable meal, friendly staff who were helpful and lovely to chat to as well. Food was cooked reasonably fast, but it was super quiet in the restaurant so don't know if that's indicative of speed of service at busy times. Food was very delicious and the portion sizes were very generous.

I give it 5* because of the combination of good food for a reasinable/low price in a very nice ambiance. It's not a five star restaurant, but the dishes they serve are well spiced and very well (rather low!) priced. The food isn't 'overspiced', but the spices are in balance. I like that. They serve hot food, but also have their share in medium hot or not hot. Extra plus: the upstairs dinning room where you will have your conversations with people you haven't met before, simple because of the way the room is organised!! I are there twice and had lovely conversations with other guest. Service: friendly with a warm smile.

We were drawn by the most exotic smell which wafted enticingly along the street. We then enjoyed the most fabulous meal we'd eaten in ages. Outstanding.

As an Indian, I can vouch for the food from this place. The momos were good, but their Aloo tama bodi is a must try! Everything we ordered was spicy and delicious. We loved it so much that we returned for a takeaway dinner. Service was prompt and friendly. Must try when in Brecon!
