I've been to Guru's quite a few times. Have had tacos, lemon salmon, club sandwich and more. The sweet potato fries and fry sauce are one of the best items here. I've enjoyed every dish but also not mind blowing. Went today and had pork tacos. They are good but can be pretty drippy. The tortilla chips today (comes wirh tacos) were very oily and hard to chew, not crispy like they should be and seemed a bit old. Disappointing. Didn't feel like making a deal of it. But really those should never have made it onto a plate (photos show how oily some were, all were chewy). I want to love Guru's, and I do like it. I rate it pretty good overall, but it's just not top rating worthy for me. We also got a Reuben sandwich and it was good, but also not. Still an enjoyable meal, and the staff is always very upbeat and nice. I like the restaurant/atmosphere. I'm sure they would've accommodated something for the chips but again just wasn't interested in engaging about it.

Google
Good food. We were shocked when I saw the total was almost $50 for two people, but then when it came, we realized we had enough food to feed four. The Buffalo chicken salad was really good. If you're trying to decide whether to get full or half orders, go with half. You won't be disappointed. Very quick getting the food out even though it was quite busy. The decoration is unique and very guruish.

Google
I love a really good Reuben sandwich. This is one of the best I’ve ever had. The rye bread wasn’t overpowering and the sauce was tangy. Just the right amount of everything for an amazing, delicious sandwich. The fries are homemade but unsalted, so be ready for that. The workers were awesome but the service seemed a little bit too slow. Everything else was great. Definitely worth the trip.

Google
Chips & Queso with real cheese. Plentiful for 3 ppl. The Veggie Burrito with Sweet Potato Fries was excellent! Fries crunchy & delicious. Sauce was great. Big enough for 2 ppl. Pepperoni pizza was good as well. Great atmosphere. Great menu variety. Highly recommend.

Google
Smelled absolutely amazing right when you walk in! The employees were really friendly and helpful for providing suggestions to us. We got the strawberry crepes and omelette wrap (I think that’s the one) and everything tasted amazing. The bacon was actually cooked perfectly, so I appreciated that because undercooked bacon freaks me out. My husband said the potatoes that came with the crepes were fantastic. We didn’t have to wait too long for the food to be cooked after ordering. The inside is really cute and feels very welcoming. Highly recommend.

Google
Interesting decor but nonetheless pretty cool! You are able to create stories in your head about what’s going on and what each element means. I had the breakfast quesadilla. Lots of flavors. Definitely a good and fulfilling choice. I tasted everything except the cheese lol maybe add some more cheese? Still pretty tasty! Pico de gallo was pretty much plain tomato sauce, lacked flavor. Thank you for a lovely mean in a great location and amazing view from your patio.

Google
Awesome place. A quant and a good fusion food location. I went there thinking it was an Indian restaurant but I was surprised that it was Indian Mexican and American food fusion place. Several people in my group had sandwiches, I had spicy curry bowl, some had curry quesadilla. They were all good.

My family have been gurus fans for a LONG time. The sweet potato fries will never get old even after years of loving them. The service, however, is getting so bad it makes the fries seem less worth it. The last 9 or so visits my quesadilla has been incorrect. I ask for the Sante fe, but instead of meat I request Avocado. They used to have no issue with this, and now not only is it like I must be speaking another language when I order it because I end up having to explain it 3 times, but they also are incapable of delivering. It was literally recommended to me this way by an employee years ago and was perfect everytime until the last few visits. On this visit, they even said "To replace the meat with avocado there's an upcharge" to which i replied was totally fine. Well, I get my quesadilla, and there is no avocado and plenty of chicken. I didnt get a photo of this because before our server even left the table I politely let them know it was incorrect and was supposed to be avocado instead of chicken. Everyone else has their food and is nearly done eating when it comes back again. This time, there's giant chunks of fried tofu in it with some avocado on the side. I specifically dont ask for it vegetarian because I hate the fried tofu here. And the tortillas were quite soggy which is an instant ick when i know them to usually be beautifully crispy. At this point, everyone else is finishing up and since someone else paid for my meal I didnt want to make more of a fuss. It is frustrating that my favorite food here that SHOULD be so simple to deliver on is so incredibly difficult to make for the employees these days. I also feel bad that my meal had an upcharge on the bill i wasnt paying for food i did not end up eating. I dont care for much else there aside from the fries and I fell in love with this quesadilla. But I do not see myself coming back in the future.

Yelp
I had the salmon bowl, and it was incredibly delicious. My partner tried a sandwich, and that was equally tasty. I'm excited to return and try more dishes because this place clearly knows what they're doing.

Yelp
We stopped by Guru's prior to going to a comedy show with some friends around 5:30 on a Friday. There was already a line to order and they were quite busy. The line was fast and we were eating before too much time had passed. Huge menu, reasonably priced, quick food. Lots to choose from and try. We ordered the Black and Blue Steak Wrap. I thought it was good but could only taste the blue cheese. I like blue cheese but wanted to taste the steak too. 3/5 My wife ordered the Maui Wowie wrap and it was really messy to the point you couldn't pick it up. My wife thought it would be better as a rice bowl with a fork. 3/5 Chips and Queso, lots of chips, queso was a little disappointingly bland, lacking flavor. When does cheese lack flavor? 2/5 Sweet Potato Fries. These were the best sweet potato fries I've ever had. Seasoned really well and their smokey, bbq, fry sauce went with them perfectly. I'm actually craving these again now. A must order item. 5/5 Cookie Skillet Sunday. Amazing, slightly under cooked and doughy, just like a Sunday should be. 5/5 Well give it another try if we're back in town as there was a bunch of things on the menu that sounded good.

Yelp
If I were rating Guru's on service alone, they'd knock it out of the park. Genuinely friendly staff who work hard to make your visit great. As for the vibe, the owner obviously has worked really hard to give it a funky, hip feel. Aiming for the college kids, no doubt. But we chose Guru's for the menu because it looked healthy and there were lots of vegan options, and that's where we left feeling disappointed. Everything was just a version of the same basic concept: zucchini, broccoli, edamame, and carrots drowned in an under-seasoned sauce and served over rice/over noodles/in a wrap/in a salad. I paid $51 for two plates and neither of us were interested in finishing our food. Our date was underwhelmed with her order as well and ate less than half of it.

Yelp
This place is so weird. Which isn't bad, but I have no clue what type of vibe they're going for inside, since there's funky little fake trees and some fun lighting and also a portrait of Gandhi on the wall. It could make for a really interesting roommate outing or date night, but their menu is pretty hit or miss, at least with the people I've gone with. To order, you go up to the register at the counter, then grab a number and seat yourself, and then they bring your food out to your table. The menu has a wide variety of options, but, again, I'm not exactly sure what vibe or cuisine they're going for. I've gotten the curry quesadilla a few times. One time I actually went to the restaurant specifically for the curry quesadilla, which is a good sign. Their sweet potato fries are also pretty good. The last time I was there, it took so long to get my food that I had to go up and ask about it, and then my quesadilla was a little too salty on the outside. Overall, a fun little place in downtown Provo that's easy to get to on the UVX and has pretty good value for the price. (Updated to add photos)

Yelp
Yum! I come all the time and it's always a hit. The salmon tacos recently were so delicious. Fast, tasty, and always a fun time.
google avatar

Yelp
Food's real good. Coffee's real good. Everyone inside is real friendly. But I will only return if they stop doing the iPad spin asking for a tip.

Yelp
One of our favorite restaurants to visit when we are in Provo is Gurus! This place has just about anything you want to eat as well as a bakery that sits parallel to the restaurant. They serve everything from breakfast dishes to lunch and dinner items. Their pizzas are great, burritos, quesadillas, tacos, wraps, sandwiches, salads, you name it. The portions are very very healthy. So lots of times my wife and I just split a meal. The ambience is a lot of fun with different dining furniture, while the place is always bustling with happy people. Have a bigger group? This is a great place to bring the family and or friends. Check them out, you won't be disappointed! I haven't been.

Yelp
Can't really go wrong with the Nutella crepes, but last time I had it, the potatoes tasted a little strange like something with the cooking oil. The spicy curry bowl had good flavor and wasn't super spicy I ended up putting sriracha on it. It was refreshing if you are looking for some veggies, but the tofu was cold and chewy.

Donna G.

Yelp
Cute place but food is just ok. Had the cowboy benny, waiting awhile and it was cold . The sweet potato hash was good .

Yelp
Julie helped me with a large to go order. She was a good employee. I ordered their Asian chicken salad, a grilled cheese sandwich (yummy), French dip sandwich with broth, turkey pesto panini, and a club sandwich. Each sandwich came with homemade chips (not a hit with the grandkids) and a pickle wedge. Street parking can be tricky. They are super busy at lunch.

Yelp
Guru's has been a staple in downtown Provo for a LONG time - so I am so glad to finally see them expanding and growing so much! They are definitely an eclectic cafe with a large menu. You can order pizza, burritos, salads, rice/noodle bowls and so much more! They also have some really great gluten free and vegan options. Everything is super fresh and you can taste the difference! I have been so many times over the past 10 years but I am still trying new items every time I go! That being said, I cannot go without ordering their sweet potato fries - they are the perfect crispy texture and the fry sauce is PHENOMENAL! It's a must try! They are expanding quickly and you can find them at 4 different locations just in Utah County! I stopped by their newest location in Orem in the Midtown 360 area - it is a really cute place and a great addition to that neighborhood! : 360 S State St Unit 107 Orem, UT 84058 Vegan, Vegetarian & Gluten Free Options ‍ Fresh Meals Made Daily Green Initiatives Best Sweet Potatoes in Utah Happy Eating!

Yelp
More is more, must have thought the proprietors of this cafe. More cheese, more sauce, more everything... just absolutely massive portions. I had the huevos rancheros, which were very good but I could only finish like half of them. Massive space, was empty for breakfast but hopefully it's busier for lunches and dinners

Yelp
Guru's Cafe deserves all the hype--every single atom! My friend wanted to meet for brunch and suggested ihop, I respectfully declined ihop and went in search of something more local and better. I stumbled across Guru's Cafe and thought it'd be a cool place to check out but had no idea what I was in store for. Guru's Cafe outdid my expectations and I am so happy I chose them for brunch. First, the atmosphere, the vibes, the environment...it's all there. This alone is a 5/5 in my opinion. The decorations in here are so fun and I felt like I was on some kind of vacation. There was also a ton of seating which was super nice. They have an interesting menu so it took me a while to decide what I wanted. I knew I wanted a coffee so I asked for more information on that. They then took me to a whole other room that was a coffee shop, among other things. I was absolutely floored. I already loved the layout of the first area but come to find out, they have double the seating, menu, etc.. I ordered my typical coffee and they gave me a number for my table. I am not sure if the machines weren't ready or what but it did seem to take a super long time to get my coffee. It was a decent coffee and I totally didn't mind waiting. I am simply saying that I did notice how long it took to receive it. I ended up just getting a breakfast with toast and potatoes. It was really good and I really have no complaints. Parking was easy for me but I could see it being an issue for some, depending on the time and day of your visit. The service was great and I loved the variety of food options. I loved the variety so much, that I would love to go back again soon and try something else on their menu. Thanks for hosting a great brunch, Guru's Cafe!

Yelp
So many delicious gluten free options. Bowls, pasta, even breakfast. Coming from Texas I take my salsa seriously and theirs is seriously awesome. Ate here 3 out of 3 days of my trip.

Yelp
Odd, odd place. This is a fast casual walk up and order restaurant. Not much different than a Chic fil A with a broader menu. Food was so so. I had a burrito. It was dryyyyy I had a family of 5, and this is where they had me rolling my eyes. They said "your total is going to be over $100 with tax. Our policy is to add an 18% tip. Only in Provo where the local sheep must just go with the flow.

Hailey A.

Yelp
They have lots of different options but I love the Thai peanut pasta it's connected to the bakery next door so you can grab a little sweet treat after your meal!
google avatar

Jeff W.

Yelp
It's fine. The food is mid, but some of the dishes are good. I think for the quality, it's overpriced/too expensive. $18 for a full noodles with no meat and just veggies in Provo seems a little wild.

Sam P.

Yelp
Excellent food! But they just keep raising their prices. They just raised the chicken Caesar wrap another dollar so it's $14. For a wrap?? Just can't do it in this economy anymore. So sad!
google avatar

James P.

Yelp
In town for a work event and we stopped in here on a Friday morning. It had a consistent flow of traffic but it wasn't too busy. The food was delicious! I got a build your own omelette and others in the group got a burrito, crepes and a quesadilla. Everyone was very happy with their orders. The coffee was pretty decent as well. I asked about it and it's a local roaster. If you're in the area it's a great choice so stop in.

Sali L.

Yelp
Restaurant is lowkey strange. Food was gross and way too expensive for the portion and quality of the food. Won't be coming back.

Juliana V.

Yelp
Food is ok. The cookie is insane have it warmed. The girls that work there are so sweet and kind.

Yelp
Yummy food every time! Got the Steak quesadilla! Loaded with cheese and plenty of steak!

Diane C. L.

Yelp
Went here for the Shrimp Tacos which are just as good as it's been, but got a little sad about the fact that the kitchen "threw out" our ticket. It was around 1-2pm and the restaurant was mostly empty except four tables. We ordered the Shrimp Tacos and Mahi Mahi plate, as recommended by the server. Everything seemed great until the shrimp tacos arrived and we had to wait for the next dish to be served. It seemed strange that a whole ten minutes passed and the other order hadn't been brought yet. We patiently waited until the table who arrived after us were served all of their orders then we asked where was ours? Server checked and apologized that the kitchen had thrown our ticket away without making the 2nd dish. They made it up by serving a free plate of sweet potato fries, which were good. So there. I appreciate the staff's honesty but let's just charge it to experience to be careful and double check if all orders have been fulfilled before chucking them out.

Maryanne V.

Yelp
We visited Guru's today (Friday, March 15, 2024). We walked in and there was only one table with people sitting at it. Very empty. We walked right up to the register and placed our order (two sandwiches, two wraps, and one pizza) at 4:07 pm. As we sat there waiting for our food, we watched several other people walk in, place their orders, and then get their food delivered to their tables...while we sat and waited and waited. Finally after FORTY minutes, I went up to the front and asked if they were almost finished with our order as we had been waiting 40 minutes. The young man turned around and checked all the tickets that were hanging up, couldn't find ours, turned to a fellow employee, said something to him, then he looked through the tickets and couldn't find it either. After a few minutes, they finally found our food...which was sitting off to the side on a side shelf/table behind the register area. They brought it to our table (no apologies) and ALL of it was cold - the pizza and the sandwich that were supposed to be served hot were stone cold. You could tell that the pizza had been sitting for quite some time (you know the look pizza cheese gets after it's been sitting for a long time - wrinkled and dry-ish). Our food had been sitting back there for at least 30 minutes. We didn't go back up and tell them about the old and cold food because we were now on a time-crunch since we had been waiting so long. We didn't have the time for them to re-make the food. The two wraps had VERY little flavor and were a disappointment. The pizza was decent, but definitely would have been considerably better had it been hot, like it should have been. The pickle that came with my daughter's sandwich literally looked like someone had been chewing on it. I'm mad I didn't take a photo of it! We all felt the food is over-priced for what you get (especially when it takes 40 minutes and a trip to the counter to get the food). Our bill was $81.88 and what a waste! The least they could have done was offer us...something! Some sweet potato fries, a couple of desserts, a gift card for future use...but AT LEAST an apology. We've eaten there several times in the past (it's been a while) and we really liked it. But something BIG has changed. We will not be returning to Guru's.

Michael G.

Yelp
The menu is good and unique - not the same stuff you get at any restaurant. I placed my order and they had one of those "please answer the questions on the screen," that included suggested tips. I refuse to leave a tip at the cashier because I haven't even been served yet - how can I determine what tip to leave? I stepped away but came back because that's where the straws were. l approached the counter from the side and even at that angle I could clearly see a popup alert in the middle of the screen that said "NO TIP ALERT. CUSTOMER LEFT NO TIP." What does Guru's staff do with that information? Why is that an alert? it seems judgemental of customers and premature at that given that a customer could leave a cash tip after having a full experience. The implications ruined the stay for me despite the good food and service.
google avatar

Jeff A.

Yelp
One of those places you have to try. Food is unique and yummy, I quite like it! Portions will fill you up nicely and give you enough to take some for later. I'll be back to try some other items. Great for having a work group meal.
google avatar

Mimi H.

Yelp
Food was good, great presentation! Service was quick for being busy. It was hard to hear the employees as the ambiance was loud.

Sam C.

Yelp
TLDR: Terrible food, 0 stars I have been to gurus a few times pre covid and it's always been fine but wow I guess things have changed. We ordered chips and queso to start then for entrees we ordered the Reuben and the fish tacos. The chips and queso came out and I'm not sure what was wrong but the queso was simply a mealy sludge that lacked anything resembling flavor. The Reuben (ya know a hot sandwich) was cold... not room temp but actually cold like the meat was straight out of the fridge with no attempt made to warm it. Literally an Arby's Reuben would have blown it out of the water and no hate on anyone who likes those but Arby's is nasty. Also the homemade potato chips tasted like they forgot to wash the dirt off the potato before slicing them. Finally the fish tacos. The fish wasn't even slightly seasoned and the "sauce" they put on top (if you can call green water sauce) tasted like they filled the sauce bottle with water to let it soak before cleaning and then forgot and accidentally used it on the food... I won't lie, usually if food isn't my favorite I'll just eat it cause hey we already paid for it but this was actually gross. We left nearly untouched plates of food on the table and went to a different restaurant down the street to start over. We could have complained and asked them to remake the food but honestly it was so bad I wouldn't trust them to make food when trying their best. I can't say we will be back.
google avatar

Andy R.

Yelp
Food at Guru's is consistently great. Service is good and friendly but they can get slow when busy. Their sweet potato fries are the best I've had, nothing compares, and my go to is the cilantro lime chicken quesadilla. Prices are a little higher than I'd like but the food is fresh and delicious.
google avatar

Ripper D.

Yelp
Amazing food and service!! Ignore the bad reviews, this place has fresh and delicious menu items. The Maui wrap tastes amazing and same with potato fries! I will be back again.

Peter P.

Yelp
This restaurant has no quality. They take way too long to serve the food. There is no customer service available when it is needed and of course the first thing they ask for is the tip when they don't even care for customers. I do not recomend this restaurant. Look for others with great quality.

Ashton F.

Yelp
The fish tacos are to die for. I get them every time! The servers are incredibly kind and thorough! It's a bit loud on the gurus side, but the enlighten side is nice and quiet!

L I.

Yelp
I could just have been in a bad move because I had just driven 8 hours; nevertheless I did not have a great experience. The two children at the order counter were clueless and had deer in headlights look. I worked in food service for many years, and they obviously had not gotten great training or perhaps they don't really care in general. I wasn't surprised honestly. The expedite table was a mess and employee drinks were all over- kinda gross to see that all. Food was average. Portion size was quite big. I would avoid. Not worth it.

Aline A.

Yelp
I've eaten here several times. It was obviously good enough for me to want to go back, but for some reason this time the food was awful. We waited in line forever, the food took forever to get to us, and the food was not good when we got it. There were also no open tables. We ordered pizzas and they were TERRIBLE. Extremely expensive for the quality of food received. The margherita pizza is not authentic at all and they put spinach instead of basil leaves on it. It tasted like a 7/11 pizza. And to top it all off, there was a cockroach on our table. We left the restaurant wanting to barf. We will not be returning.

Yelp
What a good day to go to Guru's! Git there just after the lunch rush and got the Cali club wrap and man it was good today! Didn't take long to get it, was perfect temperature with the grilled chicken mixed with the bacon, avocado, lettuce, amd dressing. Guru's is always a good place to, but they knocked it out of the park today!

Whitney C.

Yelp
I normally like Gurus but today I ordered a salad to go and when I began eating it, I realized how much of the greens were literally rotting. It was a $12 salad and I expect better. I ate the chicken and tried to eat the greens that weren't slimy but super disappointing. Not sure why they didn't realize and at least tell me they didn't have fresh salad mix so I could've ordered something else. Gross

Mark H.

Yelp
Great food love the clam chowder and great atmosphere We love going there for breakfast lunch or dinner!
google avatar

Bill M.

Yelp
Guru's is a pretty popular lunch spot in downtown Provo. The space is large and the lunch line is long. Sadly, the food is only mediocre and way overpriced. If I pay $14 for a burrito, it better have flavor, but my veggie burrito was meh and there were no spices or sauces available to zing it up. Other items were equally bland. Too bad, as the venue has a lot of potential.
google avatar

Quincey H.

Yelp
I should've come here more when I still lived here. Big fan of the sweet potato fries and cilantro lime quesadilla!!

Kay C.

Yelp
Mediocre. This is the second time I've been, and I won't go back. A friend suggested having our group go there, so I went along even though I wasn't impressed the first time I went. On my way I passed a few other restaurants that are much better, and I wished I were going there instead. I had the Asian chicken salad. Meh. Others had a variety of things, and no one made any comment about the food being good, except for the sweet potato fries. Those are delicious with the chipotle fry sauce. Skip this place and try something more interesting.
google avatar

Bryce G.

Yelp
Gurus is known for having an extensive menu, so it was so hard to choose what to try! My wife and I decided on the Bananas Foster Pancakes, the Cowboy Benny, and the Bleu Quesadilla. The pancakes were covered in gooey caramel syrup and were fluffy and sweet- we will take about 50 more orders of those, please! Not kidding, they were scrumptious! The addition of bacon on the Cowboy Benny took that dish over the top, and the quesadilla was good too! What will keep us coming back are for sure the pancakes and the benny

Maggie S.

Yelp
The food is good, not fantastic. Ridiculously overpriced for what you get. The service was good, or at least not bad, and I did like that the tables weren't insanely close to others. Highly doubtful we will ever go back.

Yelp
THEY HAVE THE MOST DELIGHTFUL SALMON TACOS!!!! i live in west jordan and have made the trip alllll the way to provo numerous times for their tacos!

Yelp
This is a "go to" spot for me. Treated a friend to birthday lunch and once again, Guru's did not disappoint. She had the fish tacos and I had the steak wrap minus the wrap. Absolutely delicious. Fish tacos are filled with grilled fish and fresh lettuce. Steak wrap (since I removed the wrap is was technically a steak salad) was well balanced with tomatoes and lettuce and a delicious balsamic vinaigrette. When we arrived the restaurant was hopping with customers but still our service was courteous and efficient. Would have appreciated a drink refill midway through the meal but no one checked back with us. Decided to share a slice of chocolate mousse cake for dessert. Tasty but a bit on the dry side. Overall, the food here is fresh and delicious. There's something for everyone although the vibe is better suited to adults. Will be back.

Alex G.

Yelp
Yummmmm! I was super impressed with what Guru's had to offer. A group of 10 had our plan cancelled on a Friday night and that left us wanting to find a place to eat that would accommodate us. Gurus was a hit!! Basically everyone got something different, we split a full order of fries (DELISH!) and everyone left happy! The wait wasn't too long, the seating was perfect for a conversation and the staff was SO kind to us. They helped us make it possible for us to sit together and moved the tables for us while we stood in line to order. I tried the Pan-Seared Salmon rice bowl. 10/10 would recommend. It was the perfect balance and full of flavor! the only downside is the price. It was quite expensive. 9 for a full order of fries- the rice bowl was 16.

Yelp
Food is always amazing clean and great environment good prices will come back. Service is great

Yelp
Super impressed! I am visiting my son from out of state and he raved about this place. The menu is huge and eclectic. I had my doubts, cause it's hard to do so many different things well. He got a caprese grilled cheese and chips and queso and I got a Waldorf salad. My salad was great, just as good as top tier dining. The chips and queso had a great seasoning to them. His sandwich was incredible! Beautiful artisanal bread, lots of good flavors a it's was huge. As I looked around I saw tons of other things that looked good as well. Definitely a great place and it's reasonably priced.
